Feedback / Where is PF heading (Site Interface/Design wise) in the future? [21]

Hello,

(Firstly just to state I don't want to step on any ones toes here, I'm not saying the site is bad in any way and needs to change, I just wanted to raise the topic)

I just wondered where forum members stand on where they would like to see the website go in the future in terms of web interface and design?

I would personally like to see a voting system similar to some websites such as digg.com whereby if somebody posts something negative and off topic it can be 'buried' based on what other forum users think, in the same way it can be voted up to indicate it is a good post in the opinions of the forum users. If this happened the forum would become somewhat self moderating with cyberpunks like noimmi's vulgar comments being buried and only accessible to those who want to read them.

I'm not saying it has to happen, I just wanted to throw the idea out there for dicussion...

What about everybody else? Do you have ideas and opinions on how the site can move forwards?

(Apologies to Admin if he thinks I should stay out of what is essentially his/site owners business)

I watched a trial of this on another forum a couple of months ago and it didn't last a week. What happened in that case was people just negatively voted for people they didn't like so their posts were voted against regardless of whether they were relevant or not. So in that sense, self-moderation didn't work. Another way it didn't work was that users just couldn't be bothered with it.

Interesting :) I've seen it work several times though, you aren't suggesting people would do such a thing as vote posts up and down based on their personal opinions of the poster and not the content of the post on pf are you ;)

I see your point, pf is strange in this sense (to me any ways)

There is another way you can "self-moderate" when it comes to posters like noimmigration, just don't react to them. :)

I agree to some extent but if you have strong feelings on some topics such as child abuse and rape etc it is difficult to hold your tongue. (or should that be fingers)

Thanks for your input PD

:)

'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

Who said it was broken?

I just said it's something I'd like to discuss.

Food / Nudle. Who likes Noodles in Poland? :) [33]

Nah, I have a holiday lined up in the Balkans. They may have some good noodles.

Good good.

Knorr is good enough. I have my memories and imagining is sometimes as good.

Ohh yessssssss! I can almost taste the cheesy goodness :)

LOL

Back to the future it is then!

Another web term comes to mind ;)

Innovate or die! ;)

I was just throwing the question out there, I didn't expect such a negative response people! I did state it was purely hypothetical!

DANGER OFF TOPIC ;)

When was the written word invented, 5,000 years ago? :)

It's a strange question Admin, I mean didn't history only begin when it was first written?

BACK ON TOPIC :)

No in all seriousness I just wondered if anyone had any ideas around where they see the forum going, everyone is quick to moan that it isn't what it used to be yet nobody wants to talk about how to attract more original content.

I hope you know what I'm getting at... the digg thing was just to get people talking!

:)

Well I don't speak for everyone of course but if someone posts something that is stupid and derogatory then I would vote it down. If they posted something interesting, correct, on topic and thought provoking then I would vote it up.

It's open to abuse, I admit.

I thought you might have had a more interesting input to be honest, since you were one of the ones I was talking about earlier who claim the site isn't what it used to be.

Just so you know
No offence intended. I know you don't like me and I'd hate for you to take it the wrong way, I am talking purely about the topic.

Love / Polish village girls vs big cities girls [37]

Of course I agree that it is crap to generalise but for sure girls from cities greater differently (especially the prettier ones) in their general attitude towards relationships.

Life / City Pole versus country Pole [27]

In my country - England its more expensive in the country

Are you referring to house prices? or the cost of living?

To be a real Pole, you have to make your own tractor out of found pieces of metal that you weld together yourself.

hehe and those pieces of metal come from the homeless guys in the city who make a living hacking apart used fridges or anything with any metal in it at all!

Life / City Pole versus country Pole [27]

Pretty much everything, unless were talking souveniers in which case much more expensive. Ohh and camping equipment.

I take it to mean including the different levels of salery so that we are comparing apples with apples?

London is a lot more expensive that where I'm from in Cumbria and believe me thats about as country as it gets.

Whats with the profile pic you look like wolverine.

One of my ex gf's took it after I fell asleep and my hair went funny. Whats with yours? it looks like Odo has a chip pan fire...lol

Life / Good Polish Music: disco polo, rock, and club music [33]

I've heard disco polo a few times and I think it's really not so bad. It isn't the sort of thing I would listen to but it has a somewhat nostalgic factor for many poles and ties in to good memories of weddings etc.

I personally love Polish hip hop and I think it's a refreshing change from Uk and worse US hip hop.

:)

p.s. you can find most music on the torrents although I do not advocate piracy!

I legally buy all my music...........

News / Gadu Gadu for Mac [18]

Adium is the best, it's what I am using right now actually :)

I disagree.

I've tried them all and in my experience the new Kadu Beta is the best I've tried. It's actually consistent as oppose to Adium.

The easiest option?

Webgadu.

Love / What do you think....is he serious? [37]

It doesn’t sound like a big deal. It sounds like he’s a practical boy.

don't analyze anything too deep... let it be... take this few stuff to his place and carry on slowly...

Again, he sounds like a normal boy. And it seems you read him just fine.

Sound advice. Men are practical creatures he is just solving a problem.

I would like to hear how he feels too. We want sex every time we see each other....but we dont. He say I am freaky...I want to know why thats a bad thing.....OH and I told him I have been with a girl before, and he flliped out.....said thats not good. Even tough it was a long time ago. I am honest and would never lie to him.....but gezzes! We have not been "oral" yet.....I want to, but seems like he has no interest in it. I am a verry sexual personby nature, and being wit this oe turns me into an animal.....I have never had a guy complain I was too feaky. So whats the deal here. Thisguy is way too sexy, and he should have girls falling at his knees.....but he is just not a player.

This is too much info... We don't really want to know all of that! Try and stay on your own topic.

Love / What do you think....is he serious? [37]

yes, whatever a man says - it is... it's pretty plain and simple... only whatever a woman says has a double meaning...

Tell me about it. Don't think that some men aren't clever though ;)

Polish men are very wary of women who sleep around and over here its considered a disgrace to care for such women.

Not all. Some are looking for uncomplicated sex.

TITLE of this thread should be: Polish guy gets maulled by man eating Lesbian, gimme some more Poles, PLEASE.

hahahahahaa that cracked me up!

It's always good to hear the facts, if we are to offer an opinion.

Feel free to tell us more, Melissa. Details matter. :)

I just thought the thread was starting to slide sideways...now it IS sliding.

uhh err missus!

Work / Interview at a Callan School [204]

I'm Cumbrian and I'm quite sure I don't really have much of an accent. If you ask someone what my accent is they usually can't identify me as having one.
