UK, Ireland / Polish workers found hung in Herefordshire [51]

Yes that's true! The whole story was about English company exploiting Poles, but many of supervisors were actually Polish. And they also treated workers badly (I am talking about 2006, don’t know how it is now)

Travel / Small Baltic coast places - where to stay ? [25]

too much of a nightlife unless there's an event on the beach or sth

Last time, when I spend a week in Sarbinowo there was a party on the beach every night. Good fun!

UK, Ireland / Polish workers found hung in Herefordshire [51]

Both deaths are linked to personal reasons, but the guy who hunged himself later, heared the news about the other one....
As to a farm and living conditions, I have seen photos on web of caravans, where they live - quite sad really; small, basic eqipment, overcrowded. If I find it, I will post it here.

In 2006 there was a TV relation about this particular farm. Conditions at the time were shocking there and also the way the workers were treated by supervisors was horrible. Conditions improved since there. There was a long story about this farm in this week's Polish newspaper in the UK, but unfortunately only in Polish.

Food / Krakow Restaurant Recommendations [17]

My personal recommendation is Chlopskie Jadlo - always, always excellent food, home made, ideal place to go if you wish to taste Polish cousine. every time I bring my English friends there they love the place.

here is nicely done piece on restaurants in Krakow from newspaper. I could not copy everything as they have it in pdf only, the rest is on discoverpl.com , third cover with EURO on it.

One recommendation is to go to Morskie Oko (pl. SzczepaƄski 8) which specialises in amazing traditional mountain Polish food. With its long wooden tables and benches, it attracts a more rowdy crowd, and the live mountain music encourages the fl ow of beer. Get your stomach ready for some serious mountain-style alcohol consumption with the fantastic placek (potato pancake) topped with spicy meat sauce, herring in brine and top it all off with Polish apple pie (szarlotka).
