Travel / I am from China and I need help getting visa to visit Poland [4]

Thank u, Harry, Piorun, really, for the information you offered.

I just called the Poland Embassy, and told them my situation. A young lady told me that my bf could go to the local government (in Poland) to send me an invitation.

And she said i dont need to provide profiles to prove my financial ablility.

I was so happy hearing the news. I thanked her again and again.

I left a message to my bf on MSN. Hope he can send me the invitation soon.

Oh, dears, I AM SO SO SO SO HAPPY~

Travel / I am from China and I need help getting visa to visit Poland [4]

My boyfriend is working in Gdynia for temporary.I had planned to visit Poland this july. I had taken it for granted that i can apply for Poland's personal travel visa.

Buttttt.....Yesterday, i just learnt that Poland embassy doesn't allow Chinese to apply for its personal travel visa!

I am sad. I really really need to meet my boyfriend. We are getting married this November. He wont come back to China untile October. We have a lot to do about our wedding. And i planned to buy our wedding dresses in Poland.

What shall i do now?

i can't apply for the visa for vising friends because my bf has just arrived in Poland, he can't invite me there. And i have no Polish friends who can invite me.

If i apply for Germen or French personal travel visa, i will have to offer the details about my trip and the information about hotel booking. but i just want to stay in Gdynia with my bf, i dont have any hotel booking information. AAAAAAND, if the officer knows that i will stay in Germany for only one week but in Poland for a month, do you think it's possible that i can get a visa??? i don't think so~~~

Help!!!!

Any ideas will be welcome and any help will be appreciated.

Thank you!

Sophie

Travel / Is it safe to take a train in Poland? [35]

It sounds terrible to take a train~~~ My bf warned me not to take a train. If i have to , i should get a first class ticket.

I think it's easy to tell that i am a foreigner cause poles don't have yellow skin and black hair~~~

God bless me!

Travel / Do Poles speak English? [19]

Chinese people usually have difficulty understanding different dialects in China. For example, Shanghai dialect is hard to understand, as well as cantonese.

Travel / Do Poles speak English? [19]

Many Poles speak English but not as well as many other European countries like the Scandinavian ones, Germany, Belgium, Holland etc etc

i heard that languages in European countries like polish, germany, are similar with each other, just like dialects. Is that true? Do poles who have never learned Germany understand it?

Travel / Do Poles speak English? [19]

I surfed on the Internet and many Chinese in Poland said that few poles speak English.Oh~~~~My God~~~~

I can only speak English. Though i am hard learning Poland language, it's impossible for me to communicate with poles.

Work / Just about to move to Gdynia - teaching job Help! [24]

I agree with Mika and Tornado. Moving to a different country only because of love is a kind of risk, unless u r sure you too will love each other for ever.

But, i am in kind of the similar situation with you. My fiance is working in Gdynia. So i will visit Gdynia this summer. My visit will last over one month.

If you are there this summer, maybe i can meet u, and maybe we can shop together..... chat....and discuss about the problems we may meet.

p.s. My name is Sophie

Life / Help me know more about Poland [7]

My fiance is going to work in Gdynia. And i plan to visit Poland this summer. I will stay there for over one month. So i am trying to know more about Poland.

1. If we want to rent a small flat, how much shall i pay for one month?

2. I am concerned about food. What do poles eat usually?
In China, a barrel of mineral water(4L) costs about 1.14 US dollar which equals 0.74 EUR. What about that in Poland?

I really want to make some Polish friends~~~~~
