History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Constantine, please stop being an idiot....... ... don't get angry at Poland for being so close to US. If Russia knew how to behave, Poland wouldn't need such a close relationship. Blame Russia not Poland.

Carol, Iran is not a threat to Poland.. they actually just signed an oil deal for 1 billion. However Russia is a threat that needs to be contained.... and might I add Poland and US are doing one he*l of a job so far....

maybe a sunset provision but i am still not big on power grabs. less politicians i am all for and that by itself should help thing along from getting stuck due to insurmountable differences which seem to be frequent. that maybe a good compromise to start.

With that I have to 100% agree, plus taking immunity from politicians... this is something that should also be done in the US...

News / Tusk's Proposal to Change Poland Constitution [27]

That is true, Polish politics is notorious for squabbling.... I see the temporary benefits, especially at a time when Tusk is trying to approve much needed economic reforms that are controversial with the opposition. Not to mention his change in foreign policy that the opposition also disapproves off. To tell you the truth its not Tusk that Im worried about, its more about the government that can come to power in the future. However I guess its reasonable if this is done properly.

btw given our friendly history, that's the reason why I wasn't sure if your being sarcastic....

News / Tusk's Proposal to Change Poland Constitution [27]

Prime minister Donald Tusk has advocated changes in the Constitution to eliminate excessive possibilities of blocking government initiatives by the president and opposition parties. In Tusk's opinion, all governing powers should be vested in the election victor.

I support many of the changes to the constitution that Tusk is proposing. However one change he is advocating is very troubling. Tusk wants to reducing the power of the opposition to block proposals. I am very curious to see to what extent he wants to reduce their power. This is can be very troubling if its taken to the extreme for the simple fact that this can lead to abuse. One may trust Tusk and his government, however whose to say that in the future we may not be so lucky.

However on a positive note taking away immunity for politicians and reducing there numbers seems like a wise and very intresting idea. I guess we can wait and see to hear more of the details of his plan.

btw If anybody has links with more information on this topic please feel free to post them, it would be very much appreciated.

Paszka You don't see the difference.... lol I can see a difference of 375 years.... by the way Polands invasion of Russia saved you from Ivan the terrible... Where's the thank you.

Poland is not the only country in Europe who has problems with Russia... I can name dozens..

No major mistakes by Poland, however I can name major mistakes by Russia..which I already did....

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

After all paszka said, don't ask to give Russia a break, it must earn it and show its willing to work with the international community to solve problems and not create them...

Poles occupied Russia 400 years ago, Russia occupied Poland and all of eastern Europe 25 years ago, theirs is a difference..... Poland hasn't been a threat to Russia for 400 years and still Russia feels the need to be the agressor...

Please feel free to tell me the mistakes Poland has committed in the last 20 years.. I have tons for Russia....

You seem to agree that Russia made mistakes and so what....... nothing is being done to change that from happening again....

Russia is no where near its status as in the Cold war.. if you can accept your declined status then we can all move on....

Btw no one denies what mistakes Russia has made under Putin, yet he enjoys huge support..... obviously Russia is not sorry for its behavior so don't play it off like you are...

also America is preparing itself in case Russia decides to attack... America would never attack Russia first.... not so sure about Russia.... their acting very childish lately...

foreignor,

why don't you try listening to your own advice...practice what you preach...

as I recall I don't remember any other country orchestrating a cyber attack, threatening countries with nukes, using oil to control countries, poisoning its former agents on another countries soil.. etc.... shall I continue?

Silly Russians Trix are for Kids....

Controlling your resources is different then using your resources to control others and that's clearly what Russia is doing..

Give Russia a break, they are getting a break..... that anybody is even dealing with them is generous enough...

Poor Russia being invaded, are you serious.... majority of times Russia has been doing the invading... and not only invading but the slaughtering.... Russia has mostly if not always been the aggressor in its history and not the victim...

why has Nato been expanding?? hmmm could it be that Russia is not trustworthy... what has Russia to fear, Nato would never attack Russia first... Nato is an organization for defence not attack...same goes for the shield. what now are you denying countries the right to build their defences.

you don't see the US or Poland complaining that Russia is building anti missle systems.. why? actually better question is why is Russia complaning?

hostility? you must not know the definition of that word.... what's hostile saying your going to build a system just in case missles are shot at you or were going to aim our nuclear missles at you...

good try, trying to pass off Russia as a victim...however its clear Russia is sour about losing the Cold war and is trying to regain their status as a superpower.... good luck, its never going to happen..

Your right Constantine, their is no difference between Russians and the state...... so those who hate Russia unfortunately/fortunately hate Russians...... can you blame them??? you don't become liked by threatening with nuclear weapons...and...you don't become liked by using oil as a political tool.. you wanna be liked then act like a mature, civilized society.......

lmao, not yet.......

Im not against Nuclear energy per say.... in a small country like Poland it can be an easy target in case of war.... only objection to nuclear power.... However chances of war are

slim to none

But theirs are good chances that a nuclear plant will be built in Lithuania and Poland might take part......

Like to mention many new alternative sources of energy are being developed... Russia better start diversifying their economy instead of relying on oil and gas..

Dice I agree, doesn't have to be exactly Nuclear Power but some form of alternative energy..... Or improved technology to burn coal with much less or no emmisions....(liquified coal).. in addition to diversifing its energy suppliers.

The good news is Poland knows what it needs to do and has for a long time....bad news is kind of difficult with some in the EU building closer energy ties with Russia..

Lukasz who said your a racist????

As for the intelligence comment, it was directed not at Putin but to the Russian public for not seeing or not caring that democracy is being rolled back...

on a side note, I am a racist..........., against stupidity......

actually normal, if I can call you normal...... im as much of an American as you are Polish..... btw if I wasn't a proud Pole, then I wouldn't mind being a proud American

Quote from Putin:

international vote monitors should "teach their wives to make cabbage soup" rather than teach Russia how to behave.

lmao, yes the vote moniters should not try to help democracy in Russia, instead they should teach their wives how to make soup.

To think Russians actually buy this cr*p. russian intelligence = monkey intelligence, and that's being generous to the Russians and insulting to the monkeys..

Crow what is told by the media is much worse, they talk about the genocide but they never mention the terrorist attacks against Serbia which led to an escalation by Serbs of the situation... You should be grateful I took it upon myself to learn that information.

As for you comment that we supported the muhajeed....we didn't support them because we wanted to.. we did it to stop the genocide of muslims... the crimes of the muhajeed were not as horrible as the crimes of the serbs..... try looking up videos of children being shot in the back of the head by Serbian soldiers... that is of course if the Serbian internet is not censored.

don't portray your country as the victim of that war because you will gain no sympathy from me..

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

there were terrorist attacks committed against Serbia.. Yes the muslims started the war, and yes Serbia had the right to defend itself but Serbia took self defence to the extreme when they decided to commit genocide...its k to kill terrorists even if sometimes civilians die by mistake.. however targeting all muslims is a different story... a few terrorists attacking serbia doesn't give serbia the green light to kill all muslims..

Listen, Germany and all of EU care about human rights in Kosovo.... its not to punish serbia per say its to create a safe haven for citizens of kosovo..

as for you dont overestimate the human spirit.
Serbia by itself would never defeat Russia no matter all the human spirit it has.

last 2 comments of yours, can you rephrase them so I know for sure what your trying to say..

Crow if Serbia was actually a significant country for Germany or Russia during WW2 to defeat.... then you would have been defeated.... If your saying that Serbia could have resisted a full onslaught from either Nazis or Soviets or both then it is you who is deranged....

Im not a big fan of Germany, however your view of Germany as still being some nazi machine is taking it to another level.....

Serbia does not have to join EU....its your choice?... also EU would have not been on your a*s over kosovo if serbia could have controlled themselves and not committied genocide.
