Feedback / Polish characters for copy - pasting. [17]

Before this disappears, if you like the idea, you could bookmark it.

There was a similar thread in the past. It's a sticky thread now, good idea ;).

Feedback / Creation of "Sticky" threads? [19]

So you wont mind endlessly removing threads for the same mundane thing......like...what time is it?

Oh.. Hmm - so you suggest to stick all similar topics so that there's only one thread about monday, one about thuesday, etc.? While it's sometimes a good idea to stick very similar topics, sticking them all would cause a mess (like the Random Chat). Besides, who would want to go through dozens of sticky topics and just to find something new on 10+ page..

Feedback / Creation of "Sticky" threads? [19]

If someone does a new topic...on....."Wanted hot, salivating, blonde goddess with an artificial leg ...then it should only appear in the relevant section...not listed on the latest topics over view section........to be more specific!

Still don't understand.. For the topic creator the thread is relevant. For you topics about girls may not be relevant, but for others are ;).

Frank

The same situation is with creating threads in the appropriate section. You originally created this thread in the Poland Vacations and Travel section. Just like some people you're referring to ;).

Good idea which will save a lot of time and frustration.

How would it be possible to know which treads the user is or will be interested in? The Checker, My Threads, and Favorite Threads do a very good job IMO; just take your time to use them :)

Feedback / Forum suggestion: What about Polonia - Ireland? [65]

I thought it would be in alphabetical order :)

Hmm, but 10 times more people think otherwise:

UK and Ireland- 1,5M results

Ireland and UK - 0.15M results

Feedback / Forum suggestion: What about Polonia - Ireland? [65]

Iwould say that this one, would make sense.

I would frankly say this would make logical sense as well:

Polonia UK, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales

but it's too long ;).

Feedback / Forum suggestion: What about Polonia - Ireland? [65]

But according to Wikipedia there are only about 63K of Poles living in Ireland. Compared to other countries, that's not that many. If we wanted to list all countries the page would be very long....

Feedback / Pictures in Private Messages [9]

We can upload pictures (attach a file) in threads and on our profiles,
so why not in private messages?

Private messages are not designed for uploading pictures. Members may exchange emails to share their photos and videos when needed. But plk123 suggestion is useful.

Feedback / sounds (mp3, wav, ogg) [8]

Recording a one or two second sound bite certainly takes less effort than the great work Janusz posted on youtube. On one occasion I was actually ready to upload a brief sound (szczygiel). I'm pretty sure others would follow.

Well, there's a great and free for samples (for now at least) tool to help with Polish pronunciation - ivosoftware.com/ivonaonline.php

You may enter any Polish word there to hear it.

Here is the word "szczygiel" -

Feedback / sounds (mp3, wav, ogg) [8]

Uploading a 1 or 2 second sound bite would certainly be more useful than trying to twist English sounds around Polish ones to try explain how one pronounces "szczygiel" in Polish

OK, but the question is who would be willing to record and upload it..?

Feedback / My Thoughts on this Forum and Moderators [71]

I like the relatively low key moderation here,

That's a positive surprise to hear that ;).

A couple of days ago I created a thread dealing with pronunciation. In my mind the topic deserved to have its own little area. Within less than an hour it was merged. The validity of the move could be argued both ways, but that's not the point. To me it's a matter of courtesy, so it was disappointing to first see a useful thread disappear altogether. I stumbled upon what I posted later, but now in another thread.

As you noted, "Merge" doesn't equal "Disappear." There are many posts that we feel should be kept in one thread - especially when they are similar and of the same author. For example, there's Youtube thread by Janusz who presents his videos in one thread - that way it's easier for the reader to track the posts.

Is there a "move" and/or "merge" topics function available to mods?

Surely there is.

Like others before here, I would like to see some info from mods as to why a thread has been locked, or deleted (although I don't agree with thread deletions at all, as there is some educational value in those those too)

In most new "cases" we put a comment or warning right below the post in question (in small font). But it's not possible to explain that in every situation. Generally, as noted above, only threads from the Off-Topic forum may qualify for deletion.

Feedback / THE NEWLY DIVIDED SINGLE SECTION STINKS. It's not fun anymore. [16]

It seems you missed the new section - Polish Love and Relationships. Or it should be removed?

I agree, it used to be fun taking the p*ss out of the losers that posted there :) far to serious now for my liking...

So you call millions of users (using online dating or social websites like myspace, match, eharmony, singlesnet, and thousands or others) "losers"?

Feedback / "My Threads" - New Feature for Registered Members [7]

The "My Threads" addon has been updated. Now each registered member can view ALL topics s/he has ever participated in. We believe it's a very useful feature.

Feedback / THE ISSUE OF CENSORSHIP ON THIS WEBSITE [14]

Generally, if people start fighting or posting derogatory or racist comments, that means they aren't mature enough to discuss the topic so it usually gets closed (or deleted).

Feedback / My Thoughts on this Forum and Moderators [71]

When it comes to assigning a forum moderator, the following things are considered:

1. If a moderator is likely to be available on daily basis.

2. If a moderator has something to say about Poland and Polish news (or is genuinely interested in Poland and Polish matters). If a member has 1,000 posts, but 800 are in the Off-topic discussions, he/she is not as a good candidate to be a moderator as a member who only has 100 posts, but 80 are in the Poland-related subjects.

3. If a moderator is not prejudiced and as objective as possible in his/her views.

4. The knowledge of Polish (even basic) is a plus.

5. Being actually interested to do moderator job and have a good sense of how to build a good community.

6. Understand and agree with most of the current moderating rules and procedures.

Being a friendly and helpful person like you are makes you a good and respectable man, but it's not always enough to do the moderating job...

Feedback / My Thoughts on this Forum and Moderators [71]

Sounds so obvious now but you see I could have saved myself some trouble if the packaging had said not suitable for cups when I bought it. :)

Unregistered/public/new members do not see and do not have access to the Off-topic threads, so Off-topic threads are actually something extra for them (extra cup-holders even if they didn't expect them), not something that have been advertised, but not delivered.
