I can't believe we actually have people being offended that someone wants to call themselves polish, I wish half the Asians/Muslims in my country (UK) would be proud enough call themselves British/English, surely it's a compliment if anthing ?, My grandad was Polish so I have polish genes in me, not much, but I'm proud of who I am and my ancestry, I am here today because my grandad came here from Poland, I owe him my life, I owe him my respect for fighting for this country in the secound world war, no I don't call myself Polish but I'm proud to have polish blood in me and why not.

I don't care who comes here (UK), as long as they pay their way what’s the big deal, if I have to ask anything, and this goes for many minorities in this country, mix with the natives more, I love meeting foreign people, I love hearing their stories and learning about their culture, the problem is meeting them, everyone seems to stay in their own groups of nationalities, I hardly call this country successful in multiculturalism when there seems to be a serous lack of real integration into our society from many minorities living in this country.

stasha I know this may seem abvious but have you asked him why he keeps doing this, it certainly is'nt typical, but at the same time there may be a legitimate reason as to why he is acting like this, I think it best that you ask him straight out tbh, life is too short to keep hanging on, if your being used it's best to find out sooner than later, and if you find out your not being used then your relationship can only grow stronger, anyway good luck, I hope either way you find what you are looking for.
