UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]
First of all - hi everyone. I'm a polish guy, who used to live in Liverpool (around 11 months).
I've a BA degree in english philology, now applying for an MA, working as a translator.
Anyway. I was living in Liverpool, had some great times there, met one of the most amazing women in my life (from Birmingham), some really cool people in Krazyhouse (pub in Liv). I had some bad times as well - encounter with chavs, chav girls (probably there's a proper word for them ;) ), some other jerks who had problems with people from other countries.
All I wanted to say is that I hate people generalizing when it comes to any sphere of life. Polish people are... English people are... Treat people as individuals. I've met A LOT of idiots from Poland in England. I've also met xenophobes knowing nothing about my country and throwing all people of my nationality into one bag.
Get to know a person before you judge him/her. Yes, I admit - a lot of morons from Poland go to the UK, I feel ashamed when I see those chav-like Poles. But that's not representative of all polish people. More tolerance. Please.
I miss England. I miss some amazing people I've met there.
Btw. I would love to have an english person on my IM (MSN, AIM, anything - you pick). So if anybody's interested - I'd be really happy to have a person I can talk with (about different stuff).
Btw. my myspace page (because I'm new here, and nobody knows me - it's not spam or anything)

Peace.
