Food / what kind of sauce should I make for my gołąbki? [63]

my mom stopped making them a while ago. I dunno why. But anyway I wanna surprise her and make some for dinner on Sunday.
but I can't remember- what kind of sauce goes with them? my mom used to use tomato sauce. does anyone have a nice home made recipe that could go along with the gołąbki? or maybe there are alternative sauces?

LOL you're right they look funny. But I agree with the others who said they're fishing vests/jackets. One of my uncles is a fisherman and he always wears one of those on his fishing trips :P

USA, Canada / Would my Polish degree be worth anything in the US? [14]

(I hope this is in the right forum)
I'm entering college fall 2008 and I'm considering going to poland.
Would a degree from a uni in poland be worth anything in the US? or should I get my degree in the US first, then go to poland to do extra studies

it is chicken breast (i dont know whether this is the official name of this part of a chicken's body) rolled with some cheese, a slice of pepper or other vegetable. it is battered and fried

is it incorrect to say "język ruski / po rusku"
should i say instead "język rosyjski / po rosyjsku"
or are both ways acceptable?

Study / Son wanting to go to school in Poland [7]

I went to Poland this summer and one round-trip ticket with LOT Polish airlines cost just over $1,000... pretty steep, but during the winter season it should be a bit cheaper. flights with other airlines that are not non-stop should also be cheaper. The public transportation (bus/metro) in Warsaw is pretty cheap, especially if you buy a student ticket or monthly ticket. food costs about as much as in the states, but if he will be living on campus then he should also have access to a cafeteria. hmm... I would give more info if I had any, but I live in the states and have only a very general idea of personal expenses. good luck to you both, I'm sure your son will enjoy the trip :)

oh, and as far as safety goes, the crime in Poland is nowhere as bad as in the U.S. But I've noticed that pickpockets are a big problem - in buses, the metro, everywhere. so that should probably be your biggest concern.
