Life / Which Polish Season you love the most (weather) [12]

I went to Poland for the first time this year and stayed in Gdynia, WOW, I went in JULY, it was so hot.... fantastic, so many people everywhere just enjoying the sun. I fell in love with Poland and the Polish way of life, I am going to move there in the next month or so, I can't wait to get away from the UK. xx

Real Estate / Rental prices Poland, how they vary from town to city and old/new properties. [6]

Hi rental property in Gdansk will cost around 1200 pzl - 1500 pzl a month, stay clear of agents as they will charge quite a lot in fee's, it is much better to just look in the local papers. We looked at quite a few places a couple of months ago, this was an average price. If you go outside the city's and try some of the large towns outside like Wejherowo or Kartuzy, then the price can drop by as much as a half!!! BUT althouth the roads are better in Poland than they were, they are very busy and getting around by car can be slow. Train and bus are really, really cheap. For me Gdynia is an excellent place to live.

Life / THE BRITISH ARE COMING!!! [30]

I have just moved to Poland this month, and WOW! What a place, what a pleasant surprise. I visited Poland in August and spent a very happy month touring around, meeting people and enjoying Gdynia, Sopot and Gdansk. My visit in August was enough to convince me to move lock, stock and barrel to Poland. Now I find myself living in the lovely town of Kartuzy. I’m making friends and enjoying the food and the culture. The way of life here suits me down to the ground. I’m no ’Brit’ basher, in fact I think Britain is OK, I have lived in Britain and in Italy, again, Italy is a lovely country, great fun and a fab climate. BUT there really is something about Poland that has grabbed me, I strongly believe that it’s a country on the up, with massive opportunities. I now know and have met many ‘Brits’ that are considering relocating to Poland! I just hope that places like Gdynia and Sopot don’t suffer the same invasion of ‘Brits’ that Spain and France have suffered, and if you have ever visited these areas you will know exactly what I mean.

That's one of the things I've never understood about Ireland: every Irishman will tell you at great length how the place is by far the finest country on the planet but a hell of a lot of Irish choose not to live in Ireland!

That is because we are true Europeans, enjoying Europe to the full.

UK, Ireland / Where, in the UK, is the most Polish? [18]

Folkestone in Kent has quite a large Polish community, some lovely Polish shops too. I met my soon to be Polish wife there! She (lucky for me) dragged me back to Poland though............ Most of mine and her Polish friends have now moved back to Poland, all in all it was not a great expierence for them. (but that's another thread, for another day)
