Genealogy / Indian? Gypsy? Turk? [41]

Is there racism against darker poles in Poland like in Spain/Portugal and Italy where snow white skin is idolised and red hair and blonde hairs are considered ultimate beauty while dark skined spaniards, porchops and wogs are considered inferior?

Life / Are there Bank Cheques and checkbooks in Poland? Do people use cheques? [8]

Do Polish Banks charge for collecting International bankdrafts or Bank Cheque. I want to send money to a bank account at Invest Bank, and I wonder if there are any charges for receiving funds in international bankdraft. I cant find anyother way of transferring money to Poland other than the ridiculously expensive Western Union.

Food / Is there McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc in Poland? Food survey. [222]

My friend from Poland said most people in Poland can't afford McDonalds. He said they are expensive compared to Polish restaurants. And yes he is planning to move to Australia and his dream is to eat at McDonalds 3 times a day!

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

GoodnightVienna
I just have to quote that about Poles never saying Thank You, my polish friend seems to be the same. He never said Thank You before I gave him stern warning that unless he shows his gratitude in kind or words I will not do anything for him. Maybe its Polish Culture? He definitely learnt a lesson and of course he almost always say "thank you" now.
