Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

Call it "Polish jelaousy"

It has nothing to do with jealousy. I find Polish mentality sort of similar to Russian: they like to be slightly aggresive when they see something new and potentially dangerous. In time they'd warm up to you and accept you.

News / Should Poles become a minority in Poland? [150]

The former beautiful city full of slavic people has turned into a black hole full of multi-colored crap.

This is not about the nicest way to describe foreigners.

Language / Difference between Polish Ł and English W [23]

Poles are so lazy, they couldn't be bothered to keep the dual number or some of the old verb tenses.

That's an interesting part, would you mind giving me some examples?

Language / sobie sobie sobie sobie sobie [29]

What about 'se'? It's obviously not official Polish but one Polish friend of mine is overusing this word in her written Polish. She knows it's not correct as she does it only while chatting online. I find it quite amusing when she says: 'ide se' or 'kupie se'. She says 'niet' instead of 'nie' too.

Life / So it's hit me too, isolation in Poland [46]

BevK, where in Poland are actually living? I'm sure there are many things to do and to keep you busy as long as you live in a town. I've been in a situation when I felt crazily lonely living abroad even although I have had a few friends there and I know from my own experience that doing anything that takes your free time is a quite much of a help as you don't dwell on things and don't think about how good it would have been if you stayed home.

Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

Not necessarily. Most of them might be good cooks as have been taught by mothers and grandmothers but it's not a rule at all.

Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

If you were supposed to pick one of the Polishforums members as the typical Polish woman, who would you think of? I noticed there are quite a few Polish females so it's just a thought.

Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

JustysiaS
krysia
panienka
polishgirltx
Wyspianska

That's all I can think of now. All of them have features typical for Polish women, why do you think panienka is the winner, Seanus? It's a pure experiment, don't worry girls, I don't intend to offend you.

Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

Maybe it's because of the age too, I'm not sure about Switezianka and Eurola but JustysiaS and Wyspianska are young as they have pictures of them in their profiles. These two like to be loud and a little rude sometimes but in an attractive way. I was suspecting them to be one person for a while.

UK, Ireland / Modern Plantation for Poles in Ireland [352]

RevokeNice, perhaps you should ask yourself why are you on this "bleeding forum". Apart from the taking the frustration out reason (as you don't get enough sex and never with Polish women though you wished).

Love / Difficult Polish girlfriend - how long would you put up with her? My story. [68]

she said she wasn't really that bothered about it anyway (whereas I need and always got plenty - even with other Polish women! lol) - sorry darling, but once a month is NOT enough.

Well done you, I wish we could all hear her version of the story as I find it difficult to trust liars and cheaters.

Life / FUNERALS IN TODAY'S POLAND [7]

As far as I'm concerned, coffin would be open while family and friends say their last goodbyes.

Life / Looking for heartburn remedies in Krakow. [36]

Also if you don't know then what is Polish for heartburn so I can ask the wee woman

Zgaga.

I have not seen rennies or gaviscon here.

They surely have rennies, I don't know about gaviscon :-)

Life / Looking for heartburn remedies in Krakow. [36]

Just go to Apteka and speak English. In case they don't understand (which would be rather strange) say: Czy może mi pani coś polecić na zgagę? Nie mówię po Polsku i ładnie pani dziś wygląda. LOL

Sorted.
