I am of both Polish and Ukrainian descent, Christian, born in the USA, and yet, am I responsible for the many bloody wars and conflict that took place between Poland and Ukraine?

You are not responsible, neither am I. I am like you, living in the US, my father's family are from Poland, we are ethnically mixed. Of course we living in the US are not responsible for the hatred and bigotry in Europe, even though our ancestors are from there. I know it's a strain, try not to let them upset you.

I don't deny there are bigots in the US and all over the world. Europe has a more extreme form of it, these posts reflect that. You draw other extreme bigots from other parts of the world to this forum because of your past and current attitudes. Poland, as a nation, has such a bad reputation internationally and it's because of the attitude reflected here. Apparantly, Poland is well known for it, as a nation and it's disgusting.

You look sociopathic in the eyes of the world and it's because of your attitude toward those that suffered during WWII who happened to be Polish.

When Poland has a national election and in the papers all the candidates are discussing whether or not they have Jewish blood and declaring they do not, that attitude is petty and bigoted because most Poles are mixed race, slavic and jewish.

It's embarassing because we who live in the US get stereotyped as being like the bigoted poles in Europe who are so bigoted they cannot possibly face the fact they are mixed race, the candidates in that election proves it. It's ridiculous.

Ok, somewhere along the line, you heard that Poles intermixed with Jews often. This is false. As long as Jews have been living in Poland, there has been very, very little intermixing. They kept to their own communities for hundreds of years,

With hindsight both of those decisions were wrong. As you (particularly your comments about not enough Brits dying for you to say that Britain helped Poland), Carol and Z-d!ckhead have shown, not enough Poles died during the war. Hitler had the right idea what to do with you, he was just an underachiever. Britain most certainly should have got involved in WWII, it just joined on the wrong side. Face the facts, if the British been fighting the Polish army in Poland, there would now be fewer British troops buried in Poland.

Are you English? The only thing worse than the Polish attitude and xenophobia are the british scummy jerks. Britian is one force that has always royaly screwed Europe.

Poland is now free to speak out and I fear the truth is what makes the sparks fly. It won't be easy but within the next five years the full truth shall be common knowledge. Ignorance to Poland's history under both occupations must be shown and the truth studied.

Celinski, I think some of the blame falls on BRITIAN.

I do blame Britian who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING after Poland was invaded by the Nazis and divided between Germany and the Soviets. Britian didn't even bat an eyelid at the signing of the The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, by Soviet foreign

minister Vyacheslav Molotov and German foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop.
Then, the gulag-style KZ started appearing all over the GG and BRITIAN still does NOTHING!!!!! Why was that so?

Didn't Britian say they were going to do something if Hitler went back on his word and invaded Poland? Britian could have stood up to Germany like they said they were going to.

Britian should have declared war on Germany and STOPPED THEM. Isn't it obvious? I don't think Britian ever had the intention of doing that and Germany knew it.

Harry, you have to keep in mind BRITIAN is the one who intially told Germany if they invaded POLAND war would be declared. You are forgetting that tiny detail.

Jewish is you,Poles are slavic.
Also there are no Jews in Poland anymore.(if you have noticed).

Many poles are mixed with other races, including slaves. A lot of you, not all, but many, are ethnically mixed. I know it, Europe knows it, The world knows it. That's life. Deal with it :D Many of you are part jewish too :)

YES its true, Celinski is right. BRITIAN, the main force in Western Europe, a force with TREMENDOUS influence on the continent of Europe didn't do anything to help the poles who really needed their help. BRITIAN was their last hope. BRITIAN failed them. I think BRITIAN has responsibility in that.

Harry you know what I meant. Britain didn't do anything, just let it all happen. Empty threats. If Britian couldn't do anything, why make an empty threat?

Osiol: OF COURSE the countries who were the actual agressors are more to blame. I was initially responding to HARRY who was acting all superior even though his country didn't follow through on their promise to Poland if it were once again invaded.

Harry, what am I??? A military genius Patton-like General???? I am not the one threatening war here. Common sense says if you threaten to declare war on someone you should have a back-up plan, non? In case you may actually have to make good on that threat?????

I don't know what Poland got out of the wars and the struggles with others but the world sure did learn a lot. One thing is to always go to war if a declaration of war is made. Secondly, Make sure to always have a plan for such an event.

Where would you like them to have come from? An amphibious assault on Danzig perhaps? How was Britain supposed to get troops to Poland a few weeks after war was declared? Do remember that the last of your troops in Poland surrendered within five weeks of the declaration of war.

You would have had to march through Germany, of course!!! You were the one that declared war. It means marching through Germany. How else is it going to happen????

It's true, threatening to declare war and then actually declaring it means you will have to march through the country you have declared it on. It's common sense!! That's part of the deal.

And where should we have started that march exactly?

You would have gone through the Netherlands, to Hannover, Germany, than onward to Berlin. I am sure you would have had to capture Hamburg, too.

Britian didn't do anything only because they feared the public humiliation and ridicule of a possible defeat against Germany so they didn't even attempt.

Try to remember that your own armed forces were already running away from the Germans in August 1939....

The US didn't declare war until the bombing of battle ships in Pearl Harbor and that was by the Japanese.

If the Dutch said no, you could have asked Belgium, I am sure they would have said yes!

an attempt to take on Germany at that point in time would have resulted in more than a loss of face. The casulties would have been horrendous and the defeat absolute. I guess you didn't major in military strategy?

Sadly, that's part of war. That's the reality. Should Britian have taken on a responsibility they couldn't handle, ie: the declaration of war on Germany? Probably not. Without a concise plan, history has pointed the finger at Britian for declaring and not rendering.

Harry you are just bashing poles here after their country was heartlessly invaded. Nazis wanted to take every single pole, no matter what ethnicity, and put them in the gulag style KZ. How can you be so heartless?

No, not history, Poles have pointed the finger at Britain. The rest of the world (and history) have taken this as another example of how Poles generally deserve what they get.

Na ja....on the other hand you openly demanded the sacrifice of uncounted british soldiers during their march through Germany...which would mount to suicide actually and wouldn't help you one bit I fear.
It might may you feel better but these soldiers, these armies would be sorely missed later.

Because Britian said they would go to war if Germany invaded Poland...

Slave is not a race, it's some one whose labour is systematically expoloited. Slav is a not a race too.

Slav is an ethnicity. Poles are a grand mixture of many ethnicities, so are Germans, Italians, Czechs, Romanians, Greeks, Austrians, etc etc. All you Euros are pretty much a mixed lot with languages dividing you.

and as for it being necessary for Britons to die on Polish soil for Britain's declaration of war on Germany to mean anything, I simply use three letters: wtf!

If Britian marched through Germany to get to Poland, there would have been more casualities on German soil, not Polish.

There has to be some reason that almost every nation which deals with Poland ends up deciding to either invade Poland or stab it in the back. Could the reason be that Poles get what they deserve?

Based on this thread the answer would have to be 'most certainly possible'.

I don't see how anyone in their right mind can justify an entire nation ending up in a gulag. That's insane.

Did France not declare war on Germany on the same day as Britain? Did France not save Poland? So where does this double standard come from?

Britian, France, and the rest of western Europe could have fought Germany. Britian has always been the most influential but didn't show much leadership.
