History / how many labour camps in siberia? [11]

Can someone PLEASE tell me how many labour camps were in siberia?was there one or loads?is there a list, if there is more then one?My grandfather was ordered by ANDERS to be part of an army that went to Iran and then Monte cassino. So,Did Anders take the prisoners from ONE camp in siberia or was they all over siberia....?Thankyou,Tessa

Food / wiejska sausage - do you cook it / peel it? [22]

I love Wiejska sausage.I buy it from a supermarket and cut the casing off then eat it? am i surpose to cook it first?what other polish sausages taste good-please tell me which ones to cook and ones i can eat cold! thanks,Tessa

Genealogy / How "Polish" Am I? My grandfather was Polish and came from the war to England. [6]

My boyfriend is always calling me a polish......so and so.
BUT, am i actually Polish? My grandfather was polish and came from the war to England.I was born in England so,would i be quarter Polish or nothing really? thanks xx

i love polish wiejska sausage BUT, i peel the casing off and it leaves a very very thin light brown skin on......?can i eat it with that on or do i have to cut it all off so only the pink meat is showing.....?please help,thanks xx

Genealogy / is there any websites with the names of victims who were gassed etc....? [3]

Please help me... I have been researching my polish family tree... I know my gramp left his mother and younger sister in Poland while he worked at a labour camp in Russia. Please can someone tell me if there is any death books for the victims of ww2...? My grandfather belonged to Orthodox church in Boncza and i'm finding loads of victims names who were jews but just want to know if there is any records of my Great grandmother-Zofia Pilipczuk. How can i find out if she was sent to a concentration camp??? is there aywhere i can write to or any websites!!! thanks alot,Tessa :)
