I'm sorry to read about your news. Don't forget that when a relationship folds we all mourn, it's natural and essential but it will pass. Allow yourself the time to do this but keep busy. In truth you are actually mourning for what might have been and future possibilities, rather than for the lady herself.

You will love again and meet someone new, just try and accept that it may take time, but you will recover and move on eventually.

Life / How are people from Warsaw viewed and why? [20]

My girlfriend lives in Warsaw and I in London. Whilst eating out the other day a Polish waitress asked me about my girlfriend (I was in London at the time), when I mentioned Warsaw she pulled a face and said she doesn't like Warsaw people. This type of reaction has occured before from Polish people.

My GF is lovely and everyone I meet in Warsaw has been friendly, kind and cultured. So is it just a 'big city' thing. What's the reason for the less than glowing opinion about those that reside in Warsaw?

UK, Ireland / Negative attitude towards Polish immigration in UK becoming stronger [90]

The main thing that is annoying fallow English workers in low end jobs is that the Polish are coming out of this much better than us and they are making it hard for us to find work other jobs.

I'm sorry so the problem is one of 'jealousy'?? Because they have more favourably tax benefits?
It's supply and demand. If vacancies can be filled by local people they will be. But they can't. We don't have enough people in England who want to work in the service industries.

Of course they do, it's not a holiday. It's the same as millions of students and immigrants the world over. They get experience also of course.

This really is a tired old arguement. People are people. End of story. It's pure luck where you are born and everyone has to do the best for themselves and their families...
