Well, if your fiance has already been denied then it might happen again :(. But if you are engaged why don't you apply for a fiance visa? It takes a while to get it and from what i've heard you need to prove that the relationship is legitimate but that shouldn't be a problem, right?

I came to the US on a tourist visa and got married there, and it took forever to get the green card. In fact i was so sick and tired of waiting that we finally went back to PL (stupid I know, but i didn't really care about it in the first place). We just wanted to get married and in PL you need so much stupid stuff to marry a foreigner that after a very unofficial advice from sb from the US consulate in Cracow I applied for a B1 visa and we did it in the US. If I could do it all over again I would insist on getting a fiance visa.

Anyway good luck to you guys. I hope that wherever you get married you'll have a beautiful wedding.

I don't really know. I was lucky - got a tourist visa on the first try. but i was a student at the time and had been in the US twice before on a j1 visa. so they didn't ask any questions.

What really p****** me off that once we were married and came back to PL we had no problems getting all the permits for my hubby. no hassle. Only once we had a visit from a very nice police officer who came to our house to make sure that my husband lives with me and that our son really exists ;). And that was just recently when he applied for a settlement.

i think you should just go for the fiance visa. they have them for a reason, and from the posts above you can tell that waiting for a green card doesn't take long.

and in which WORD (it's a Polish DMV) is that possible? Because when I spoke to someone at the one in Wroclaw I was specifically instructed to bring the CERTIFIED INTERPRETER with me to the exam. If there is a place where that is not neccessary and they do have the English version of the test then I would rathere travel there than bother with hiring an interpreter.

don't regret. actually the guy is the s**m bag for not being remotely interested in his child. don't want to sound harsh but i think to him it was just a fling - well you both agreed to zero commitment. but u fell for him and he didn't feel the same about you. sadly it happens all the time :(. but the fact that he hasn't seen his son yet and offered no support - i have one word to describe his behaviour - SCUMMY!!! take him for child support. thats what i would do.

why is it a no no? so only men who want a child should pay child support if sth doesn't work out in the relationship and it falls apart? C'mon - you admitted it hasn't been easy for you to raise one child on your own. now you have 2 to look after - that's a huge responsibility and difficult task. And what do you do? you decide that you don't want to comlicate his life because he didn't want a child. well sucks to be him - he didn't want a baby he should have used condoms or sth. Since he didn't he is responsible for that child as much as you are. go and ask a lawyer. Don't feel sorry for him. Feel sorry for yourself and your kids. Yes - be selfish and take the bastard for child support - why should you have it hard so he can live a comfy life with no obligations?

whatever you decide to do is your choice. But understand this - child support is not for you - it's for the child. Babies, as cute as they are, cost money and you shouldn't feel bad that you expect the father of the child to participate in the expenses.

i'm sorry that it didn't work out for you. and i'm sorry if it all sounds harsh. and i hope you find someone who will love you and and your kids. For now - think about your kids and don't prance around that "dupek" ;)

ok u will need some chicken - i usually use chicken legs, but any part of the chicken, except for breast will do. so rinse it off under cold running water, add peeled carrots (in my opinion the more the better - but 5 should be enough), parsley (the root part), celery (the root), leak, an onion or 2. and don't forget to wash everything (unless u like sand in your soup). u can also add a piece of cabbage (don't chop). And put that in a pot add cold water, cover and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper (or vegeta).

oh, when the water starts boilng u will notice brownish pieces floating on the surface - that's the curded proteins from the chicken, just use a spoon and skim the surface to get rid of them. if u leave it, it won't change the taste but it won't look good, that's all.

cook for like 1- 1,5 hrs. And it should be ready. Idiot proof receipe - always works for me ;@)

oh and u can add ziele angielskie (i think it's all spice in english). some people add like s**t load of them to their "rosól". about 8 -10 grains should be enough (use the grains not ground stuff). good luck

Actually Polonius' tips (no 1 and 3) are typical for rosól - and they make the soup better. but they aren't essential. roasting an onion gives rosól great flavour and also color so typical for rosól - then u don't need to add vegeta (which in my opinion is 1. unhealthy, 2. in rosól is used only to give the soup some color. I mean - if u add all the lovely veggies and chicken in the pot, salt and pepper it then vegeta isn't neccessary).

Noodles are obvious. in Poland we call the "krajanka" or "nitki".

well if i understand correctly, she worked in 2008, and the tax reports for 2008 aren't due till the end of april so there's no reason she should express any active regret just yet (especially that it doesn't exist enymore, now all you can do is provide written explanation and ask not to be fined - same thing but different name), cause she hasn't done anything wrong. but her employer should've given her a pit-11 (sth like the w-2s in the us) form, which for her is the basis to do the tax report with the polish irs. the employers responsibility was to hand this to her till the end of feb. since it hasn't been done, what she should do is to gather all the salary slips (or bank statements)- if there are any, or any kind of correspondence regarding payment for her services or billing for the classes, i mean ANYTHING that might implicate that the emplyer acknowleged that she works for him. and find a good accountant or take sb she can trust to the irs and ask them to investigate why she hasn't received any pit-11 yet, if there is any pit-11. Most likely there isn't any cause obviously the employer made her work under the table.

just gather everything u can - contract, promise of a contract, e-mails, bank statements and just squeal on the mofos. dont even tell them ur going to do it just do it. if you can't gather enough evidence simply pretend that nothing happened for now and in the e-mails inquire about the salary, legitimacy of your employment - but so they don't figure out why. and if they admit to anything in writing take it as a proof with you.

and yes - this is common with the english schools. my husband went through tax BS every year with different employers. but in his case there was no problem with the legal work cause he had a temporary residency card. and always after he threatened to inform the tax office about the matter they would give him his tax forms :@)

so if u wanna make your employer's life miserable (which i would if i were you) - do it. he deserved it.

or just get a ticket home and before you leave break all the windows at his school ;@P

I got married in the US to the US citizen. When we moved to PL, after 2,5 years of marriage we filed for a temporary residency for my husband. I had to translate the original marriage certificate, birth certificates of my husband and our son and then "umiejscowić" (register) them in local USC (urząd stanu cywilnego). after 2 temporary visas (the 1st one for a year, then the 2nd one for 2 years) he finally got a permanent residency.

it takes some time to get all the paperwork done. if u are lucky you will get some help from the workers at the immigration dept in Poland. Your wife will have to sponsor you, with the first 2 visas i had to sign a lease with my husband (the apartament is in my name :@) ). also you will need a health insurance, but if your wife has one then so do you. and of course "zameldowanie", "pesel" and all that other happy horse sh**, but im not sure if u will have to get those before or after u get the visa.

Takes some time, money and might be a bit frustrating but if the marriage is legit there should be no problem.

About the interview - we didnt have to do it. but when my husband applied for a permanent residency after he had lived in PL for 3 years we had a late night visit from our local "dzielnicowy" (a police officer) who come over to verify weather my husband really lived with me ;@P. it was funny cause we were having a party that night and my husband opened the door with a beer in his hand yealling: "what the f**** do you want?", or sth of that sort cause he thought it was one of our friends :@D luckily the cop didnt understand him.
