Have you tried checking archives for documentation as there are birth and death records for persons who lived in Lwów prior to the outbreak of the War. These records can be found in Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław, I managed to find my grandfathers documents from 1898. I am sure you are entilted to citizenship and I would check on the correct action to take at your local Polish consulate.
