Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

I would say that people differ drasctically from Muscovities. They're probably more cultured and polite 'cause they're not so concerned about money and SP has less visitors from ex-SU block and russian suburbs in comparison to Moscow who cause there up to 70% of all crimes every year. If you are foreigner in the country you are currently on visit you have to be always careful: I've never been robbed in Russia, but I needed only to go abroad in the very first time to be robbed. But I hope your experience will be only positive...

Offtop: Does anybody know about polish-russian societies and(or) forums of friendship or it sounds fabulously? :)
Thanks in advance, guys!

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

After decades of negative conditioning, I would be suspicious of any organizations with "Polish", "Russian" and "frienship" in their names. The last time I was aware of such an organization Poland was occupied by the USSR.

I know, but anyway there should be some people who are able to distinguish government's actions from people's own free will.

But hey, try your luck. The KGB (or whatever the NKVD is called now) are always on the lookout for a few "good" Poles ;)

That's what I do. I'm trying. :) It's called now "FSB".

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

Lukasz, thanks for links. :)

It is said that 10% of St Petersburg citiznes have Polish origin.

Can easily be. Even in Moscow I happened to work with Pole (the only things that said about his polish forefathers were his last name and catholic faith though). As for SP it's genetically much more "europeanized". There are lots of so-called Russian Germans (русские немцы) and perhaps Poles.

Не принимай близко к сердцу тем чего здесь мы пишем о России, в Польше россияне почтенные ;)

Спасибо, Лукаш (я правильно написал Ваше имя?). :) Hopefully I have common sense enough to separate the husk from the grain. Yesterday I read a bit thread "your intimate feelings towards Russia... and so on..." and noticed your even temper there but unfortunatelly didn't have much time to express my view on everything. I will. The question brought there up is provocative per se and isn't expected sober response. Maybe we dealt with another "putinjugend"... :) I don't know. I have to read that carefully.

Take care!

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Well lets see Germany has paid for what they did in WW2, No if Russia takes responsability, accountability, compensation to the victims a trusting relationship can start

What do you mean? How do you compare fascist Germany and Communist Russia? What victims do you mean? Millions of Russians left to rot in camps or ousted (the "kulaks")? My family suffered from communists as well but my view on that is like let bygones be bygones. We actully even have a law which allow you to get compensation for bygone crimes (I'm not sure if it works though). So you're welcome to ask for indemnity. BTW do you ask "banderovci" for compensation as they made wreathes around trees out of murdered polish, russian and ukranian kids which they later called "alley (road to) of genuine Ukraine"? If not then it's reasonable to ask for it right now since there're lots of their followers in the West part of Ukraine at nowadays unlike to Russia where it's harder to find any obvious follower of stalin's concepts... They made up "sovereign democracy" instead... which can be even more harmful though. We'll see. Hope my People will be sensible enough to replace our current regime in the nearest future.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

May I ask what you would want to see instead of the current regime?

Sure. :) I may express my view on that yet I'm not sure you find my answer irrefragable. Nevertheless...
I don't generally care how Government call the system they build. Whether it's democracy in the US or totalitarism in Russia will always be polysemantic and questionable issues. And these are not the points. The points are that the law should work the same way for everybody regardless of his (her) wealth and political preference, there should be a good mechanism to fight against corruption, government shouldn't rally people round theories of hatred to other countries in the absence of self-improvement ideas, there should be free press and pluralism. These are the main problems of our current power. if we got rid of them, I'd probably be ok with the government.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

rp.pl/artykul/125944.html

It's hard to believe the Poles when they claim that the Katyn massacre or expulsion comes to them only for the truth , not about politics, as in relations with Ukraine unequivocally renounce the truth in the name of politics

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the massacre of Poles, Jews , Czechs and Ukrainians made in Volhynia by Ukrainian nationalists. Strictly speaking , it is the anniversary of the height of the murder , which occurred in the summer months of 1943. The systematic extermination of the population of Volyn had already begun in 1942 and continued until the seizure of land by the Red Army in 1944.

Nice article I think... These are guys (OUN-UPA, banderovci) who you really need to demand compensation from, don't you? Do you think polish government intentionally justifies UPA's crimes shifting all the blame to Russia for political reason(s)?

Please let me know your opinion dear friends.

Lesser, maybe that's close to what you mentioned by "influential groups".

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

They simply never raise the question of UPA crimes and often raise the question of Soviet crimes.

Who's right then? Celinski said above that question had been raised up already.
In case you're right lesser it's even worse I believe. Because this makes new questions emerge. WHO has perished Poles in Volhynia?

and the answer in the lack of information will be like that:

How does Volhynia slaughter make any excuse to Russian criminals ?

At that point I would call them "Russian"... the ones who perfomed that crimes were russian-spoken only...

Today, support for UPA (UNA/UNSO) rather does not exceed 1% in the polls.

Where did you get these fugures and have you been to Ukraine? They look good only for Eastern Ukraine, if you mean Western Ukraine or Ukraine on the whole those figures are out of place. BTW didn't you know that current ukranian president openly encouraged UPA's veteran's because "they have always fought for "nezalezhnost" (independence) of Velika Ukraina"?

History / How Vanya won the Battle of Grunwald. [18]

According to the Russian historians they won the battle what makes Grunwald a common Russian - Polish and Slavic victory over the Teutonic Knights.

Blaaah... :)) I've never heard of that bullsh.
You better post in the "humour" thread. Man... I'm f..g tired of alike pseudo-patriots in Russia who wear the same t-shirt as you do ("I hate everything russian") but turned inside out where's written ("I hate everything polish"). Do you really think that your posts are able to do any good for Poles?

The only opinion I've heard so far in Russia about Grunvald battle is that it was one of the most significant examples of Slavic Unity. Normal people would use this historical event as a base for friendship with Poles, for the brotherhood. People like you always stick in throats of normal ones and cause all the wars.

2mods: Topic is a provocation.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Good response. I've lived there more than year. I thoroughly share all aforesaid. Initially I didn't understand how that might show any ignorance. Ignorance is when people ask me whether I came to the US by plain or by train (from Moscow), or the US was the country that had defeated Hitler, or when people assure me that Srbija is a part of Siberia. :))

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

My figures are based on the elections' results.
They differs from East to West but under 1% is the average.

If so, then please do me a favour and comment this:

BTW didn't you know that current ukranian president openly encouraged UPA's veteran's because "they have always fought for "nezalezhnost" (independence) of Velika Ukraina"?

Then, how does it count in this discussion if I've ever been to Ukraine or not ?
Enlighten me pls.

Easy. If you'd been there, you might tweak your motiveless reasoning to make them sound at least sufficiently. You obviously haven't.

Whether you trust me or not this is your problem. Just stop making false concussions based on my posting. Poles are aware who committed which crimes. Beside of that this is not Ukrainian matters this threads is about.

Lesser, I present you my apologies in case I sounded offensive. I didn't really mean to bully you. Since your point contradicted to other person's one, I'd expected to see your comments on that. The only thing I strive for is a truth. And it may easily matter if somebody tries to pin accusations for the very only Russia. For me justice is not just a set of words. If somebody wants me to be just to him, I may naturally expect equall response. Right? :)

Take care.

Then, what kind of the "Slavic unity" you mean ?
Polish-Lithuanian ?

Polish-Russo-Tatar-Lithuanian. Works better for you?

After clearing some chauvinistic lies.

You seem to make a slip in speaking. You probably wanted to say "after popularazing some chauvinistic lies".

and the surname Gordon

Jewish.

Polonia / German nation - degradation or just deviation? Your opinions? [66]

Kostia, what's wrong with you? If things are so bad why don't you want to discuss Russian atrocity? Abnormal people inhere in all the nations. Why did you raise up question exactly about germans? Look... our "crazy" (heh) nation have kept putin who's permanently raped 'em at the helm for eight years.

Is it something wrong with nation in whole or is it only a single cases which do not represent the whole picture?

I give you a chance to answer yourself.

Polonia / German nation - degradation or just deviation? Your opinions? [66]

1) Nation is an issue of self-identification. Austrians and Germans have much in common genetically but these are two different nations.
2) I don't understand russian atacks upon not merely Germany but all the German nation (or... you Kostia probably timed it to "the Victory Day"). They're still most progressive nation in all over the World, we should take off our hat's to them for engineering, philosophers, mental and literal order.

And do remember... The more perfect the body the more sharply and unfairly you see its defects.

Polish - Lithuanian is correct.

Oh yeah. If Jukrek the Great said that, then it could be nothing but a truth. :) Everybody has to believe.
Ok. I'm not really prone to argue with fanatics regardless of where from they are.
Just advise... if you want the World to be better, begin changing it with yourself. Soon I promise you'll notice that people around you (even "Russian pigs") changed for the better.

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

Oh sh*t, I am f*cking bored, moreove I am vomited! I am in affection of this snotty fraternization between Russian and Pole! Disgusting!

There's nothing more hilarious than PJ daring to manipulate with word "friendship" which has never existed in folksy putin's vocabulary. I'm actually glad that this makes you spew up.

I am vomited by the fact that somebody is trying to show its love toward Poles, suppose it is rather insincere!

Are you?

May I ask you to post your photo after being vomited? I assume you must have been eaten first - how come you're still alive???

Good catch, Jova. Hm... think he was eaten by the system already. Ah! My gosh!!!! Speaker puke!!!!!!!! :0

Well, the same with me..., as Poles always say about Russians, I could say someting similar 'I like Poles but I hate their government'

Why not? Try at least that for now...

But moscow is much vigour and full of life

full of lust and sh#t I guess...

History / Poles executed in Warsaw '1939-44' [112]

Have Russians stopped talking about their victims in the war?

We've never talked about it much. We can make everything but lamentation. Almost each Russian family has anything to recall from ww2. So what? Piously revere memory of fallen heroes and go forth, never complain.

History / Slavic mythology [44]

I thought "baboula" was a Ukraine word for "crazy girl"?

Actually "babulia" is just a tender form of word "babushka" which is just "grandma".

Ethimology I guess is pretty simple. As we all know Baba Jaga flies in the mortar ("stupa" - rus.), so that in a way she serves for mortar as a pestle ("pest" - modern rus.) The ancient Slavic word for "pestle" is "Jaga". Slogan "Baba Jaga - kostinaja noga" (Baba Jaga is a bone leg) only backs this theory up.

News / Russian court refuses to hear Poland massacre case [25]

Or lets smear another huge portion of snots!

This reminds me of your pocketgod's quote:

They just picked it out of their nose and smeared it on their little sheets

v. putin

You're already speaking with his words. Be aware you may end up in asylum if watching putin-tv that much.

He was even worse than Stalin.

Why?

I, and as i know, absolute majority of Serbians support Polish demands for justice in case with massacres on Polish soldiers commited by Soviet Union.

I do not think so. There's a good russian saying: "Za dvumia zajcami pogonish'sya - ni odnogo ne poymaesh". Literally "chasing two hares you'll catch none". I hope you understand.

2Polish friends:
Let me on behalf of some Russians beg your pardon for the crimes commited by "russians" against Poles, especially in Katyn.

News / Putin for Polish president? [69]

Common people just prey for him.

I like the way you misspelt. Keeping in mind your b*ttlicking attitude towards putin, I assume you wanted to say "pray". Freudian slip. You're obviously one of his most indicative preys.

Concerning Berezovskiy, IMHO he should be executed.

Why?

What do you mean by "bastard"? Illegitimate child?

fu*king conspirator.

Why don't you call putin the same way?

If this was a sign of regreat, Thank you Sasha

It was and you're very welcome. I know that British and American English are different and I have no idea which one I speak. Perhaps it's kinda Rus-US-UK blend.

Do you see Sasha now? They are constantly complaining.

Everybody complains in his own way. :) It inheres in people.

News / Putin for Polish president? [69]

Kostia, unfortunatelly that's at most your personal belief since you haven't looked neither after one nor another, haven't you? This is not a back up.

As far as I know "zhid" is the main word for jew in Czech and Serbian. I'm not sure about Polish...

What about Kaczynski for russian president?Would he be enough?

I don't know about him but assume that KGB brotherhood would be ok with this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Dzerzhinsky. Pole who has dreamed since childhood to wipe all Russians out.

Borrka, in another thread you said that Constantine himself was a good back up for what you thought of Russians. As you might notice I'd mostly discommended his behaviour.

Don't you think you're a good specimen of what Constantine generally thinks of all Poles?

Don't you think it's result of my conntacts with "Constantins" ?

If I took offence at every Borrka, I would surely be Constantine now. Brain's given us to think and to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Look at list of threads you've created so far.

# How Vanya won the Battle of Grunwald.
# Stolen heritage of Kievian Rus'.
# Mr Suvorov story.

Did anybody really make you post that? Does it look like a post of non-brainwashed person? I ask since you like to apply this word to Russians.

The discussion here is still more or less civil

Agree

but take a look at Russian boards pls.

RUnet as well as any-other-net is full of hatred and I believe 99.9% of inform... mmm... rubish there isn't worth any attention. You might easily find something about Poland and pro-Polish simultaneously, if you had a will to.

Love / Kocham CiÄ™ vs I love you - which sounds more sexy? [55]

I like Czech "miluju te" and serbian "volim ti"... Ukranian, Belorussian and... Polish (right?) "kochau" sounds close to Russian "kopau" whuch means "I dig you". The ukranian song named "kohau tobi" sounded good though.

I'm not his fan but this pic shows me total ignorance of what's really happenning.
Most of people who vote for him either brainwashed by media or have some interests. Nobody threatens them. This pic is a deflected view of Western Media.

I don't know... maybe this just looks funny.
