It’s enough to look through the post was polish history to see plenty of reasons for the population to be anti-Semitic (communist governments and specially its secret services). Jews never assimilated in Poland (their claim was that Poland had very little to offer). If the minority exists for five centuries using different language, customs, courts, and living totally separate lives it should not expect to be helped when it needs help.

3-400 years they lived in the Polish territories, and, of course, were constantly abused,
exploited & pogrommed by the arrogant, anti-semite Polish peasantry, who lorded it over
them with a rod of iron...given this history of Polish enslavement of the Yiddin, it is a
