Life / Moved to Poland - Came back after 6 months [11]

6 months living in Poland (Gorzow)

This was too short a time and for sure the wrong city. I recomend Bielsko Biała to you. Approx 500.000 people. Not turistic but very cultural and it's the start of the mountains. And your only a few km from Czech and Słowacia borders! Lots to do, lots to see! Zapraszamy!

Life / Moved to Poland - Came back after 6 months [11]

I'm in a small city....25000..... and although it's not been all easy I've always found stuff to do! The most important thing for intergration is learning to speak the language. Of course Polish is one of the hardest, but not impossible!

Life / A different Poland Banking question (joint account). [4]

My wife already has a bank account with a bank that will remain nameless. We recently approached said bank so I could be added to her account. However, they say that we can't have a joint account because I'm English and she's Polish. The "woman" behind the counter.....(who was clearly in my opinion stuck in a pre '89 time lock)...growled that this is Polish law. I can only be on her account as a "secondary". This can cause all sorts of problems, like, God forbid, something was to happen to her, I wouldn't be able to access my own money!

Is this true? That under Polish law we can't have a joint account where we are both equal on the account.

I am just tired of people not understanding my name, mispronouncing

It's ok to change your name if that's what you want to do, but to change because other people can't speak properly is wrong. You could just tell people your name is marc/martin. You don't have to do it legaly!

You havn't given any sensible arguments

That's better! Now your starting to give a better argument. I did watch it all and I found it very interesting. But I still think it's wrong to destroy forrests for profit.

So I apologise for offending you! Sorry

i know your type of people;stubborn, narrow minded red necks who can't see anything but end of their noses.any arguments can't change your opinion

When there are sensible arguments I'm happy to debate. You havn't given any sensible arguments. In you first post you mention some vague "programme" that proved we only produce 4% when there is lots of evidence to sugest otherwise.

You then found a link that sugested sun spot activaty MIGHT affect temperature. But in the same document it also states quite clearly

and I *quote*

He estimates that solar activity is responsible for only 30 per cent, at most, of the warming since 1970. The rest must be the result of man-made greenhouse gases, and a crash in solar activity won't do anything to get rid of them.

And in the next paragraph...

Svalgaard warns: "If the Earth does cool during the next sunspot crash and we do nothing, when the sun's magnetic activity returns, global warming will return with a vengeance."

go and chain yourself to another tree or paint a posh woman's furry coat.this is the only thing you can do.

As to this drivel all I can say is sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never harm me!

AMEN Grzegorz, finally someone is sounding normal here. Global wraming is a farce and is not because of man

I think you should get together with rafik!!!! You seem to be as norrow minded as each other. Global warming is a bigger danger to us all, than even Bush's war on terror.

was used as one of the many arguments to shut mines down

Again your talking about things you know nothing about. Thatcher broke the miners because they were going on strike every other week to get more money. But it was more about breaking the unions and not the miners or global warming.

rafik here's a quote from your link....

None of this means that we can stop worrying about global warming caused by emissions into the atmosphere. "The temperature of the Earth in the past few decades does not correlate with solar activity at all," Solanki says. He estimates that solar activity is responsible for only 30 per cent, at most, of the warming since 1970. The rest must be the result of man-made greenhouse gases, and a crash in solar activity won't do anything to get rid of them.

The term "global warming" was LONG before Thatcher and had nothing to do with the miners strike.
and another.....

There is a dangerous flip side to this coin. If global warming does slow down or partially reverse with a sunspot crash, industrial polluters and reluctant nations could use it as a justification for turning their backs on pollution controls altogether, makingmatters worse in the long run. There is no room for complacency, Svalgaard warns: "If the Earth does cool during the next sunspot crash and we do nothing, when the sun's magnetic activity returns, global warming will return with a vengeance."

It hasn't been proven that carbon emissions cause global warming

It's time to wake up Grerorz! ALL SCIENTISTS now agree (30 years too late) that MAN is the cause of global warming and i'm affraid Al Gore is right! Poland didn't have a winter last year! Remember?

Nazi ideology would be banned according to Polish constitution

As it would everywhere....(neo-conservatism).....in theory!

Quoting sparrow.

How many parties are now governing in Poland?

It's LPR + PIS + The farmer's party right?

All change!

The problem in Poland is you can only choose right or extream right. Or right village and extreme right village!

We have coal, so we burn coal.

I come from Newcastle in England. We used to have an idium in England that went... "It's like sending coal to Newcastle".... an equivelent would be... "It's like selling sand to the Arabs".... My point was maybe it's time to stop burning coal just because you have it.

All my Polish friends including my wife tell me that these people are NAZI's. There have even been articles printed in Wyborcza about their rallies. Their policies whilst Pan G was one of the 4 vice PM's should be enough to convince you.
