UK, Ireland / 700 are arriving every day from Eastern Europe into Britain [50]

Michal, it is not just an opinion of mine. It is backed by the economic history and supported by migration figures throughout history.

The UK will be like any other country that experiences/d economic prosperity.

sorry my bad then :) Migrant workers throughout history have been nothing but BENEFICIAL for strong economies from roman times to every major industrialized nation since.

The key is to have good unions, good lobbiest, laws protecting the workforce (not just uk or US or Polish but WORKERS)

Because in the eighties when Ireland's economy tanked, people left in droves.

point of information, Ireland's economy was tanked for centuries and people left Ireland in drives over the centuries as it was. it was not until the late 1980's that emigration decreased and immigration started.

As to people moving for work. I personally hope they live where they want to.

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

im not going on about that am i? im talking about NOT fuelling hatred, repeating cycles of revenge for revenge etc.

Not to forget, but learn from mistakes people have made in the past NOT to repeat them

surely you wouldn't wish such attrocities ever happening again?

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

yes, because he would love nothing better than to keep hatred alive and well and a never ending cycle of war and suffering.

learn from the past so as NOT to repeat it. never forgetting is one thing, fuelling hatred is not an option.

While i argee we should never forget, that we learn from the past. not to forgive goes against not just religious grounds but civil. Ie once the time has been served for the crime.

indoctrination of hatred into children is wrong. and can lead to a katyn in reverse for revenge etc fuelling more hatred and the cycle never ends...

so you think this is how the British & Irish should treat Polish coming to their countries?
I think not.

You've already said in another thread that it is your right as your in the EU as it is their right also.

so pick one or the other, dont be a hypocrite about it.

News / Polish/German/Russian relations [304]

KS - depends on who you meet - the vast majority of the south (95%) and the north (85%) (figures taken from the Good friday agreement YEARS ago and its better today) Show that peace is the way forward preffered between English & Irish. There are rivalries of course like in any section of life, sports, eurovision, But this is going off topic...
