Real Estate / 15 reasons why the Polish real estate market will crash soon [258]

It is interesting that some people do not know even to apply the basics of mathematics, statistics or logical rational thinking, when buying an apartment.

Quick correction,
It is interesting that some people do not know even "how" to apply the basics of mathematics, statistics or logical rational thinking, when buying an apartment.

Is this you again Popw? this game of yours is tedious.
Every time I refute your bogus claims you counter me by ignoring me, signing in with another user name and generally disagreeing with me.
You have obviously no knowledge of the real estate market and I am not going to teach you.
So what really happened?, you came here to Krakow in 2004 from California and did not buy a property and have watched as prices have risen but did not buy anything? Come on out with it, it is time for some transparency on your behalf.

21 491 PLN/sq.m.

That is ridiculously expensive, fair enough but you will find ridiculously priced apartments in every major city. The thing is, will anyone buy them?

Real Estate / 15 reasons why the Polish real estate market will crash soon [258]

For an average wage of 2000 zlotych/month, bank allows you maximum 800 zl/month
of payment for your mortgage.

800 zl/month for a credit of 20 years, equals 800 x 12 = 9600 zl / month equal
maximum 200 000 zl (rounded in plus) for an apartment in Krakow

So that is the correct market price for a 2-3 rooms apartment (60-100 sq.m.) in Krakow:
200 000 zl

This is like talking to a child.
Yes the average wage, very good.
And all these people on the average wage should be living in the Wawel castle, no doubt?

Nobody in any country lives in the center of one of the biggest cities, especially a major tourist destination like Krakow, on an average wage.

Do you think Irish, English or whoever are able to afford an apartment in the centre of Cork, Birmingham etc...?

So maybe its the coldness of some of the estate agents that might be harming the market

I have actually come across these fools myself, it is a wonder how they do business at all.
I don't think the market is that harmed but fools like those particular estate agencies.
But you are right, it is amazing sometimes.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

The Plan

Phase 1 : Join PF and lower my IQ.
Phase 2 : Become English.
Phase 3 : Claim all the benifits I can while living in Poland.

You mean British citizen, you have to be born English you cannot become English.

I thought anyone whose IQ dropped below 50 was automatically English. :p

Don't like it?

I love it to be honest, I have worked in six different countries in the E.U. and I am very happy I have such freedom of movement.

Form a political party to amend Eu rules or take us out of the EU.

Ah it's 14:07 on a Thursday, maybe next week we can talk about when we might form a political party and more importantly, what are we going to call ourselves???

Edit*
I would like to see the E.U. more like the U.S.A. system of federal laws and state laws.
To have freedom of movement should also mean that the E.U. Police can follow criminals, even benefit fraud, should be easier to track and caught.

Real Estate / 15 reasons why the Polish real estate market will crash soon [258]

How come is it IMPARTIAL what you posted SeanBM, when it is "study" made by a REAL ESTATE AGENCY ? :)))))

Open finance are not a real estate agency.
And your opinions are not backed up by anything, you do not even work in the real estate sector.

I have assumed people on this forum are clever ...

Assume: makes an 'Ass' out of 'u' and 'me' :)

To Claritaslux: So apart from agreeing with yourself and spamming your own website have you ANY impartial links or proof of your Armageddon speculations?

Answered by Popw : How come is it IMPARTIAL what you posted SeanBM, when it is "study" made by a REAL ESTATE AGENCY ? :)))))

Just stop it, it is bad enough you know little about the real estate market and just insulting that you have different accounts to agree with yourself and defend your bogus claims.

Real Estate / 15 reasons why the Polish real estate market will crash soon [258]

It is 7,391 PLN, up 0,6% from 7,345 on the previous month, to be precise.

This was between September and October and I did not want to confuse people but I should have written that.

considering that Krakow is a freezing place 8 months per year

That is just a lie now, many people on this forum have been to Krakow and not just in the four months that are thawed out :)

Missing the Californian sunshine?

Than you for this source. Anyway, it proves that Kraków was hit the worst over the last year, with the highest slump of prices in Poland (-12,6%). But may we call that a crash?

No and there were foreigners who remortgaged there houses bought over here and got stung at home and therefore stopped buying.
I personally think the slight drop is good for Poland, it stopped the prices from becoming ridiculous like in Ireland and Lithuania, they are really suffering now, where prices have halved in some areas.

May we call them less freezy than Kraków? I don't think so, Białystok is certainly the coldest voivodship capital in Poland.

North West Poland is still very underdeveloped, I think when the infrastructure goes in, it will do a lot better.
Weather and freezing has nothing to do with anything, Norway, Sweden, Finland are all further North and much colder than here, so what?

Youve just exactly copied what SeanBM wrote, why?

When you're good you're good :)

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

If you needed a British passport before you were entitled to anything, it would make people think twice about coming here unless they had the means to support themselves.

HHhhmmm... interesting proposal, can you expand upon this.
So a foreginer in England should get a National Insurance number, otherwise you are on emergency tax (the highest tax bracket) and then they find out what tax bracket you ought to be in and give you the appropriate National Insurance number.

So it could be done at that point and does not necessarily have to be about British citizenship.

The next cancer in your system is the fact of not being invided by Polish People but of being invided by Middle - East nations.

We call that 'passing the buck'.

Claritaslux/Popw:

You back and agreeing with yourself again.

Apart from spamming your website, what is your ocupation because you sure as heck don't have anything to do with the real estate market.

Average price for Kraków 7345PLN per metre square, that is up 0,6% last September and down 12,6% from the peak year.
It is in Polish (Raport z rynku nieruchomosci 10_2009.pdf)

House Hunting in ... Krakow, Poland

Strange thing about that article is it is supposed to be about houses and talks about luxury apartments.

Popw: Yes for sure

So apart from agreeing with yourself and spamming your own website have you ANY impartial links or proof of your Armageddon speculations?

You mean how very soon? (a) within a month; (b) 1 to 3 months; (c) 3 to 9 months; (d) 9 to 24 months; (e) over 24 months.

we are talking about the EVOLUTION and the CRASH that will happen in the next months-1.5 years and the prices collapsing further more.

Next months? 1.5 years?
But you are an american that has been here since 2004, so you have seen it all right?

when I say penalised - they will have their benefits taken off them.

Was it not encouraging not getting married?
Say Vicky Pollard got pregnant and her and her and her fella thought about it, it would work out better for them if they did not married and claimed single parent benefits.

Like most systems in the world, we hardly ever actively encourage or reward good behavior and it is a real pity.

If you want British benefits that badly then apply to be a British citizen.

What difference would becoming a British citizen make?
I don't follow your train of thought there.

I also don't think that 4x4 driving yummy-mummys from Surrey that put the money into Julian and Tabatha's gap-year fund should be getting it either.

I'm not expecting you to believe me without any links etc etc but i would not just say something that i thought up in a dream

I am sure someone or a minority group are doing that, the link would hopefully have given us figures.
All systems have people working them, the question is how many, other wise it is just sensationalist poop stirring by the guys you said were talking on the radio, who I don't know.

atleast standing up there we could make our own decisions for our own people :):)

Im offering a solution

I appreciate that, I just think that this particular solution can only lead to slavery.

Im talking about if the freebies were not on offer, there would be no scroungers, the lower paid wouldnt come, it would mean our own lazy b&stards would have to get off the dole and do the jobs..

This we can agree upon, just the method has to be worked out.

they have just passed a ruling with regards to women with kids..no more sitting at home until the kids turns 16!

16?? how the hell did you get such a law to begin with?

they could aford private insurance and pay for their kids to go to school.

Sure why does anyone on a minimum wage pay NI at all, sure they can all afford private insurance and private schools, can't they?

My cousin lives in Dubia, she has a maid, her son goes to private school..they pay "tourist" tax, her husband is a director of a large Engineering company..I wouldnt consider them slaves, quite the oposite.

it works quite well in the UAE.

For some.

Just google 'EAU slaves' and see for yourself what a Utopia you are planning.

Life / What's the weather like in Poland? [81]

had my satelelite dish take flight

Another UFO sighting :)

don,t you just love proper weather....

Yes.

South of Krakow it is plus 7/8 during the day and now it is 5.

It has been dropping to minus 1 or 2 at night the last week or so.

Clear sky though and in the sun it is warmer.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

You mean doing slaves hiding facts about it.

I mean you can't invite people to work for you and when things go wrong (credit crunch) and it is not the fault of the employee, you can't just sack them. Unfair dismissal.

And yes it would turn them into slaves, untouchables, second class citizens.

I think it's slowly happening..

This same argument in England is from before my grandfather's time.

but there's one thing you may overcalculate :)

cash they can take out from here to their origin countries

I don't see that happening, purely because the diabolical plan is a human rights violation.
(within the E.U. to another E.U. member)

Then they should apply for British citizenship if they plan to stay here forever.

What would that change?
Can they not keep their cultural identity?
I fail to see what that has to do with anything, to be honest.

Don't worry about it they won't.

I know, I am just following the proposal put forward.

we hope you will accept us like your own citizens.

I'm Irish and live in Poland :)

If you agree for diabolic plans

I don't.

Pure logic.

Polish people were invited to Ireland and the U.K to work.
The credit crunch happened, no fault of the immigrants and now that things aren't going well, thank you very much, there's the airport.

It's a two faced thing to do.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Do you not?

Lets face it, the idea that Poles are going to make there millions and return to Poland is not happening, so the majority of these people are there for the rest of their lives.

Contributing, working and paying taxes.
So they must get NHS and education.
Or the next generation, if they survive, will be uneducated halfwits.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Why should someone that has had a job few weeks be able to have access to the same services as someone that has been paying in for many years ?

That is not what the plan is.

no NI contributions for said immigrants...on the condition that they dont have an access to schools or NHS...they would have access only to private facilities..

.they may not pay tax directly from their salaries, but in reality, they pay a hell of a lot more to the government through said "tourist" tax.

These second class citizens (slaves) could/would spend their whole uneducated lives working this way and never get any services and get screwed for more tax than the 'privileged class' (masters).

Id also be in favour of a lower tax bracket and no NI contributions for said immigrants...on the condition that they dont have an access to schools or NHS...they would have access only to private facilities.

the future generetion of slaves.

I agree with Sławek.
You are creating a class of people who contribute but are not 'allowed' to be educated and if they get sick are not on the NHS and what die?

That is a diabolical plan ShelleyS and Mister H.

Although it is nice to see you are to our Arab brothers for solutions :)

in places like the UAE

foursome.

You are going to have to put that in context no?

And if it is true, how come there are only 3?

Just kidding, of course.

I just always wondered that about you.

Genealogy / surname Czworka [8]

I could use any information anyone has about it.

Józef Chełmoński: "Czwórka"

dfzbvdx

The name of the painting is "Czwórka", it is an old word that means something like "The four", as in the four houses pulling the carriage.

I am completely going to guess this next part, but like the surname "Smith" comes from being a black smith, perhaps the surname "Czwórka" comes from being a horse and cart driver?

I don't know if that helps at all but since you have been searching for 3 years, I thought it was worth a mention.

Best of luck.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Is it is big "Polish" problem? I don't have any statistics, but comparing the percentage of the UK population that is Polish and the percentage of our bad debt book that is from Polish people, I would say it is a big problem yes.

How come there are no statistics?

On this particular point,
I must say,
I have been fortunate enough to come from a country that allows me to be able to work in other countries,
I have worked in England a few times.
I never took any benefits and paid taxes.
I am Irish and we have a history of emigration for centuries.
I'd love to tell you that all the Irish worked hard and contribute to the countries they went to work in but that would not be true.

There will always be a minority that abuse the system or even break the law.

The whole basis for the E.U., IMO is that we are meant to have a level playing field through out the member states. And although Poland's economy has come on leaps and bounds since joining back in 2004.

There has been a credit crunch and history shows us that instead of Governments and law enforcers holding those responsible for creating these problems, it is the immigrants who get blamed.

Real Estate / I'm English married a Polish women then bought land in Poland [8]

What kind of land was it, agricultural, residential, forest etc..?
And how big was the plot?

A foreigner may purchase real estate only after receiving permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration (after approved by the Ministry of Defence and, in the case of farmland, also after receipt of approval by the Minister of Agriculture)

From the day of accession to the EU (1 May 2004), foreigners who are citizens or entrepreneurs of the EEC countries do not need permission to purchase real estate...

Exceptions to the above are:
1) Farms and woodlands - permission is required during the first 12 years from the date of Poland's accession to the EU. However, permission is not required if several conditions are fulfilled: if the person who wants to purchase the real estate is a leaseholder over a defined period (7 years for western regions of Poland and 3 years for the remainder ... and if the leaseholder personally conducts agricultural activities and lives legally in Poland
2) "Second House" - permission is required during the first 5 years from the date of Poland's accession to the EU (however, permission is not required if a foreigner lives legally and continuously in Poland for 4 years or if he purchases a "second house" in order to conduct business activities in tourism services
