had this discussion countless times... especially with my business partner who looks at me with confussion when i suggest keeping the beautiful original features whilst renovating... actually, its not confusion its just an understanding that the market doesn't want this...


there are beautiful old apartments all over - many of them have already been renovated and they are often a lot larger than new builds hence go for more as value is calculated on sqm


first lived here ten years ago but its been on and off as i am a wanderer and dont like to be in one place for too long... spending a lot more time here over the past 18 months or so

i didnt, no... all my investments are in the tri city and surrounding region. there are some wonderful old buildings in gdansk that would make great living/working space but they are being knocked down for new builds which is a pity imo

i think loft developments can provide exciting living and working spaces. when i first looked at the project in lodz i was impressed not only by the proposed design including carefull integration of original features, but also the scale of the project.

there are a lot of similar buildings in poland, although many on a much samller scale, that once renovated would offer wonderful places to live and work but so many people seem to prefer the cramped rooms and low ceilings of new builds...

but for the sake of an idea:

rent room put in internet connection buy half dozen computers invest in a wii and you have an internet cafe specialising in gaming - huge market in poland and minila start-up costs
