History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

Look at your own posts.

You come here, write in each and every of your posts about Jews, so who the hell should I write back about ? Aborigines ?

Polish attitudes towards Jews has nothing to do with actual Jews.

There is no such thing as "Polish attitudes towards Jews".

Most of the things you think you know about us have no connection to reality.

You don't know what I think I know.

Your bigotry is so obvious it makes you look ridiculous.

No. You make yourself look ridiculous. You came to this forum and the only thing you do is pathetic attempt to play a victim. Now call me antisemitic.

News / Will Poland become green? [122]

this is not true

Indeed looks like they joined but now co2 emission in both Poland and Ukraine is below the limits from Kyoto and the EU limits for Poland are much lower, which will force to move parts of industry to the east where restrictions will be smaller than they are even now in Poland, so generally my point is still standing.

News / Will Poland become green? [122]

In the 1340s the Black Death had spread to Europe and is said to have wiped out over a third of Europe's population, this caused a drastic drop in agriculture and a massive rise in forestation in Europe.

But still population of Europe in 17th century must have been bigger than in 10th/11th and If humans activity in the Middle Ages could change so much then in modern times with all this industry and energy consumption we would have destroyed the Earth long time ago (but It's still colder than in 10th/11th century). I'm not saying that humans don't have any impact on climate but It's more like pissing into the pool - disgusting but don't really change much. Besides It's more about how "global warmers" want to react - in "idealistic" (or rather idiotic) way - like "let's reduce the number of cars" and even If people in Europe are somehow forced to do so, Chinese won't give a damn anyway and soon they will have more cars than the whole EU. The best example is reduction of co2 in Poland forced by EU, which now with all these investments simply means that a part of industry (like production of construction elements) will move to Ukraine, which didn't even sign Kyoto agreement, so these companies over there won't give a damn about co2 emission and in result total emission of co2 in our region will be bigger and Poland will lose money, which could be invested among other things in development of alternative sources of energy... very "smart", Isn't It ?

Poland didn't have a winter last year! Remember?

Were you here 2 years ago ? We had -20C for almost 3 weeks. Last summer wasn't really hot and this winter is going to exist. Besides the point is not that the climate is not changing, the point is that It probably isn't caused by humans. In 10th and 11th century there was wine commonly produced in Poland and instead of Hel there were 3 islands, on the other hand in 17th century the whole Baltic used to freeze in the winter.

carbon emissions

It hasn't been proven that carbon emissions cause global warming, the whole thing was rather turned into a kind of new religion and politicians (like Gore) just join to get support from people, who believe in that. Climate has been changing often even in modern times. Anyway I don't think that reduction of carbon emissions must be a bad thing but It should be rather seen as an opportunity to create new more effictive technologies and find new sources of energy, so the world wouldn't be anymore depended on usually irresponsible countries, which owns oil and gas. In Poland the problem is not coal itself but the way It is burnt, with new technologies It can be much "cleaner", other things are nuclear energy, geothermal sources and biomass.

Work / "Ethnicity" form - Polish Europeans? [77]

Some recent DNA studies say that proto-Slavs orginated 10 thousand years ago in Southern Europe, in more modern times Slavs lived either in central/eastern Ukraine or in western Ukraine/eastern Poland and next were moving to the west, south and east.

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

Why would they look? They havent gone anywhere whereas you could be anywhere. From their perspective if you want a reunion it is much easier for you to find them then for them to find you.

That's true. Besides It looks like they aren't close relatives (like siblings/parents/children) so It's possible that they don't even know there is someone they should "look for".

I was told to call in the evening as younger family are more apt to be home and more apt to speak english.

Maybe first find some Polish speaker, who could call them and explain the whole situation or send them a letter.

Work / ABOUT POLISH WORKERS [28]

IS IT NORMAL YOU THINK, IF YOUR WORKERS PICK UP HIS MOBILE AS OFTEN AS HE WANTS? SO HE SPEND HIS 3 HOURS WORKS JUST TO YUPP THROUGH MOBILE?? is it normal here?

No, It isn't...

Simply tell him as much work he has to do within a day/week and unless he does It - cut off the cash or fire him. That's quite logical in my opinion.

Anybody who don't have a reason for that - just don't do it.

Don't tell me that there are no Muslim countries and communities where a woman without a towel is in danger.

Life / What is the attitude of Poles in Poland to émigré Poles? [15]

What is the attitude of Poles in Poland towards their countrymen who were deported in the 40’s either by the Germans or the Soviets and who never made it back home but created a new life abroad?

It depends where they were deported. It's different in case of people from let's say Kazakhstan (who gets some aid from the government and sometimes help when they want to move to Poland - not enough maybe but still something) and those who made It to the west and lived (and still live) there much better than Poles in Poland.

Do they feel that there is a special bond still linking them, or are these foreign Poles simply foreigners who may know something more about the language and the history of Poland than the average foreigner?

Generally If people were deported or had to escape then It's different than those, who chose to leave but obviously It also depends on that person, who lives abroad - If someone claims to be "100% Polish" can't understand a simple sentence in Polish then It's quite funny.

Work / ABOUT POLISH WORKERS [28]

If you want your workers not to do these things then you must simply tell them that they can't do that. You can't expect average person to have so good work ethic that will work without any breaks unless is pressured to do that.

Work / ABOUT POLISH WORKERS [28]

Everything depends how much you pay... Unemployment rate is not high in Poland anymore, so unless you pay good money many people won't work hard, If you fire them they will simply find something else.
