History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

So i want to ask you about current situation in Russia, democracy, posible future of our relationships.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

I m realy glad that first time on this forum I have to prove that our reforms werent liberal experiment made by masons and liberals, but just evolution of our quite democratic system (in XVIII century), normaly I have to fight against other stereothypes ... :)

In Russia the revolution of February was limited by detronement only. The rest wasn't revolution. In RP all ideas concerning strong state that could resist three black eagles meant only militarist state and mass repressions. If RP events were only an evolution, why 2 bishops were murdered?

To be honest nobody knows how would this reforms worked after 10 years. What is sure, It was our choice and our neighbours decided to stop it, because they were scared that their own societes would ask for the same ... so they invaded Poland ...

Do you really think all the blood rivers run in France because nobels were against reforms (many voted in favor) or that was the transition from absolutism? The only measures to defend Polish-Lithuanian independence by revolution could carry to mass repressions and militarist rule

We had had nobel democracy since XVI century. It is different when you reform old system than you change everything. It is different when society have some traditions and other doesnt have them. Look on Polish transformation in '89 look on democracy in Iraq ... In XVIII century those reforms for our citizens werent revolutionary at all ... We shoudnt compare it to French revolution or to 1917 in Russia. Where society decided to change everything ...

According democracy traditions, I think we can talk about Russia. Do you think it is posible to make your country more democratic ?

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

So I will repeat, the difference betwen rewolutions you mentioned is that in Poland the crushing majority of privilege part of our society wanted this reforms. Our reforms were seen as revolutionary by our neighbours. But when we look on sytem which we had before, we will see that reforms were logical contiunation, and werent seen in our country as a revolution as in France (from absolute rulers to repubic). We didnt have to change everything ...

In Poland you can listen radio Maryja, watch TV Trwam or read "Nasz Dziennik" as well as you can isten TOK FM, watch TVN, read Gazeta Wyborcza. You can chose your vison of world ;) I dont see the reason to force people listen media which I think are good, and forbid others...

The reforms in paper were good but even RP as independent state was unable to fulfil them. Constitution of 1791 proclaimed the King as Intouchable and Irresponsable but the majority didn't have the respect even towards majestas status. The liberties were proclaimed but even clergymen didn't have right to live

this constitution was accepted in most of all local parlaments so not only some "strange liberals" supported it ... crushing majority wanted it.

As well as to be a Jew in Middle Ages, i.e. to live in Ghetto. Post-Christianity rules everythere and some reservations for Christians.

Empty churches in EU it is just a choice of its citizens.

I m realy proud of our 3rd May Constitution, what is realy nice Lithueanians this year started to celebrate it together with us. So they see it as good moment in their history :)

Ehhh, history shows that our reforms were good but just to futurous in this part of Europe ...

Quoting: Lukasz I think it is posible to be good Christian in EU ;) So you are League partisan

I dont consider myself as good christian and definately not as League partisan ;) but I think it is possible in Poland, France, UK, to be good Christian

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

You wrote about the plans to make RP more democratic and people more free. But there was no difference between France in 1789 and RP in 1791. Look at the list of Catholic Saints. A great percentage are French martyrs of the late 18-th century. Is that the freedom and democracy?

There is huge difference betwen France and Poland this time, In Poland reforms came form nobels, our nobels decided to resign from some laws, and give more freedom from society. So in Poland the most powerful part of society took iniciative to reform our country. What is more nobels were about 10% of society. In France nobels were about 1% of society, and were against reforms ... So when our neighbours decided to stop reforms in Poland nobels and others (even Peasants) decided to defend our country.

Truhlei

I think that it is better to writte it in this topic.

So I see you are really inspirated by sarmats and nowadays by Ligue of Polish Families.

I see Bar confederats, sarmatism or LPR (ligue of ... ) as really strong patiots, but they vison of Poland doesnt stick to mine. I really belive they want to make Poland big and strong, but it is wrong way (in my opinion) and our society thinks the same as I think (LPR has support about 2-5 % ) I know the opinions of EU deputy M Giertych (father R Giertych leader of LPR) from the past, in '91 he wanted us to stick to Russia ... no comment.

Our society just wants to live in EU and all arrguments are just about what we contriubute in, or take form EU.

What about XVIII century, I think that at this time the sarmatism didnt meaned the same as in XVI century. In XVIII century our society decided to change our system and it was right because this direction was proprer to make our country stronger, our society more democratic and people more free ...

Bratwurst

you know I live in Poznan town with 150% of European GDP average, geramny has 100% average so I know that whole Poland can be much better thany you, just becauese we (people who live in Poznan) are richer, better educated ... than you . And we have good fun form germans especialy form eastern germany, who come here to see poor Poles, and when they are realy disapointed seeing that they are poor lazy batards from germany ....

I belive that whole Poland will just do what we do in Poznan and will show you the right place ...

according to your questions about you leading Europe ...

You know, we know germans opinon about Poland (we can see it here) so we are not going to support you in your way to lead Europe.

When you will treate us fair, we will think ....

Now you can kiss our a s s, just because we dont carre about you ambitions, your aimes, your plans, your ideas or your threads ...

And I will repeat again show me some stats where the Poles are leading in an important departement world wide (or in Europe)...competing with Germany....

show me anything where Germans strenghted their position and we becomed weaker.... In almost all we become stronger and you weaker.

So I will agree: we will talk again in future, I m sure that you will be more polite ...

And maybe something interesting for person (like you) who thinks Germans are just better than Poles form definition (hitler in your head) Your grate cancelor Merkel is 25 % Polish ... yes, yes, her grandfather was Pole (he had to drink a lot to choose german "beauty" ... )

So just make an focuss. Wear Polish national team t-shirt and walk throught Dresno. And take German national t-shirt and walk throught any town in Poland. Im sure that wearing Polish one is more dangerous. According to foccuses: german society is more anty-Polish. than we anty-German. They have the problem with their psyche , not we.

and to be serious, I have been to germany several times, but now I just prefere to avoid this country. You know it isnt easy to be Pole in Germany especialy in eastern. And most of the pepole who were tolerant when comes back from there becomes anty - german. I know a lot of people who comes back form UK and have good opinion about UK. Thesame about France. But germans likes to trate us like ... and later they are so surprised we dont like them.

Not MORE stereotypes!

just read whole discussion, and you will notice that we offer germans "zero option" so we forget about the past and play in one team. but germans reject it and prefere to play together with Russians against some new European states.

And this one German we have here (i think he is in age of this skinhead on photo and similar way of seeing the world) just uses stereotypes all the time, and you know it is quite hard to discuss.

Hopefully we have now quite good relationships with Turkey, to be honest I noticed our western neighbour is just changing in to second Turkey :))) We have just to survive about 10 - 20 years :)) and we will negociate with Turkey.

There is one problem, those "smart" skin gays will take the Power,

but our allies just waits for it

our soldiers atacking you on horses it is product of your propaganda. after WW2 one of your generals repeated it in his memorials, but it was absolutely false. You used horses to supply your army to the end of war, the only one full mechanized army was USA army ...

in '36 you were weak

Remind me....weren't you throwing in your lot at that time with the Brits and the Frenchies too...and look how that panned out! :(

Do you suggest we should join your German orcs hordes, murdering everybody... it was just choice betwen values.

Yes yes you oferted us joining axe, but thats the difference betwen Poles and Germans, we have differend values.
