Love / I fell in lust with a Polish guy...I'm Married! [26]

isn't marraige a shambolic thing anyway?

that's not what the statistics for divorce seem to insicate.

Everything can be seen as farcical.
But not everything is.
I have no respect for people who can not keep their commitments and themselves to themselves and being PROUD of it? parading around like a charlatan?

I have more respect for prostitutes, at least their motives are clear.

This certainly does not sound like an abused wife, circumstance is another thing, of course.

Infidelity and financial troubles are apparently the two main reasons why people get divorced.
This woman is a dick tease and ought to sort out her "marriage" before running after the first man who shows the slightest interest in her.

Divorce the poor guy that she calls a "husband".
Poor fool of a husband, she is laughing behind his back, even coming on here to do so, do whatever needs to be done.

dirty slag :(

I think these words are perhaps a bit harsh but If I were involved perhaps not.

Travel / Kraków Restaurants [19]

No problem,

I recommend that you ring them up and ask them if there is any live Jewish music playing that night.
The live music is fantastic, it is such a cozy place.

I wrote about it here.
In the post at the bottom about the Jewish quarters

Check here [Ariel Menu]
Looks great actually and it gives prices.

What do you make of the prices?

Travel / Kraków Restaurants [19]

Now, everyone else...restaurants, Krakow, inexpensive, big portions, nice food!

You sound hungry ha ha ha

I know a great place in Szeroka street in the Jewish quarter.
It's called Ariel.
Try ringing them and asking if they will have live music that night.
It is a very small Jewish restaurant but i doubt the meat is kosher.
It might not be the cheapest though...hhhmmm... i don't remember it being overly priced.

UK, Ireland / Working as an au-pair in UK and leaving the host family. Is it legal? [60]

There are still some formalities to go through and it doesn't sound like she has done this. It sounds to me like she is working illegally as she is working "cash in hand" without any stoppages being taken off her wages.

She, her employers and her job agency should be reported.

I think WE are putting words into her mouth.

She does not remember, PROVES nothing.

You should be reported for "defamation of character".

:)

Please Wyspianska,
believe it,
you are legally allowed to work in the Britain and Ireland.

Do you get pay slips from your employers?
Do you have a copy of the contract?

It is illegal not to pay tax but you have not stated if you pay tax or not and is your business ;)

eing an au pair is not proper work

she's not paying any tax

I see.

They might try and scare you about the contract but I seriously doubt anyone will try and enforce it,

Agreed

But I don't know what you reason is for wanting to leave the current family

Yep, if you must leave there is nothing stopping you from packing your bags and leaving, nobody owns you (for want of a better phrase)

Good heating, nice flatmate, nice big room

good stuff

It was a rough entry into Poland

I'd say so.
I had such an easy time coming here it is amazing.

I was meant to be going to Norway

I have worked in Norway many times doing various jobs.

South East Asia for 5 years.

Where abouts?

stick it out in Poland!

I think you are over the hump, I hope you have it better from here on out.

I am going to have to go now but I will check this thread later.
Take care

I'm not too sure to be honest, where do I have it from?

You should get a NI number otherwise you are paying emergency tax (the highest possible)
With the number the tax inspectorate will work out what tax bracket you are in and you pay less tax and get more into your hand.

You can also apply for tax back, if you have been on emergency tax.
(If it is still the way it used to be?)

You are an E.U citizen and can legally work in Britain.

Check your current contract, it usually has a part in it where it states you should give one months notice, meaning you give a written statement stating your intentions to leave, it is polite to do this.

Hey Cardno85,

I hope you moved into that place, you have been having a rough time.
You must eat and eat well, I don't mean to sound like an old woman, but your body and mind need nutrition. This will help you have a more positive attitude (I'm not saying you are negative) and make you feel better. Your machine needs fuel.

If you fancy vegetarian I recommend VEGA in Poland, Krakow.

or some of the Italian places around Ulitca Senacka.

I am not sentimental about birthdays, I have not celebrated my own since I was about 9.

How is life going for you now? You had a bit of a rough entry, if I remember correctly?
What made you choose Poland in the first place?

Feedback / Text that is unsuccessfully posted is too easily lost. [54]

maybe a message could appear whilst the original page remains,

I see what you mean

My clipboard has something on it already

Forget about your clip board, just copy it, send the message.
It'll be saved in the ether of the computer (how do you like my computer speak)
If the message doent work you have it saved (but not anywhere)

It used to happen to me but I usually don't have conversation with myself (that's a lie)

Not it isn't.

DOH!

I thought the reason for this was to stop people spamming?

i've taken a few weeks maybe even a month away from the forums

You must go to confession.

I want to do a new version of an old thread. Now that I have a better grasp of how to use this forum.
The thread should be in three parts but i am afraid I will have to wait for someone else to post before I can do the other two parts.

Real Estate / Settling in Poland. Where to buy inexpensive properties? [9]

Hello zycie888,
And welcome to the polish forum.
What is your native language?

Are there any out of the way places near lakes that one can buy a home of reasonable price in relation to the suburbs of Krakow.

Yes but it depends on what standards you are looking for and what you concider to be reasonable.

Best of luck in your search
