I agree there. one of my friends at work had agressive malanoma which
was on her shoulder/neck area, she had always wore skin protection and
the doctors were stumped. but she recovered quick. had it removed and
major chemo/radiation. all is well.

scarey really. even say tanning beds are the worst for ppl. I used to go, but

problem is, you have to feel it. any move is a big move. and really is hard to do

I am sure there are radicals everywhere, Why Poland would get caught up in this
after the war is beyond me, I dont understand what would make these
younger generations change knowing what their grandparents went through
and the horrors they encountered!!

To me it is a sick way of thinking, people were taken to their deaths because they
were not german.
Educated, lawyers, doctors and Even Priests. those who managed to get away
were lucky , I dont think I need to say anymore as I am sure many have stories
of their families sufferings.

MY thoughts are, if I was a politician in poland, I would allow those peaceful
nationalities into the country, anyone who causes problems will face
high fines and jail time, anyone who comes there with same issues would also
face high fines and jail time and would be deported immediately.

so why are they like this, after all that happened. I dont know, I would love to
hear why myself, its hard for me to understand why someone would want to
do that and throw their lifes away over it. life is about survival,. but does
survival mean life in Prison?

so , hopefully , you have visited Poland yourself, and seen first hand how people
would be, my thoughts are, if it appears to be to unsafe for you to start a family
then go somewhere that is more tolerant to interacial marriages. you want
happiness, not problems.

Please dont take this wrong, but , when you married, and moved there, did you
expect yourself to make it your home, or did you decide before you left that
nothing will take the place of home?

when you say inner child, it almost sounds like you wanted it to be a fairy tale
marriage with all the comforts of home.

in any marriage, its alot of work, it sounds like you are just a follower and not
a leader and so of course your going there , you would become home sick
because you maybe didnt want to let it become your home?

I know, my move from one city to another, when we first bought this house
I hated it. nothing was easy, i had to drive the kids back to their old schools for
2 weeks before school let out for the christmas holiday, I was so busy cleaning
I didnt have time to fix up a christmas tree, I went shopping late, due to the move
and was literally exhausted. I really hated this house alot.

its been three years now, I am making it mine, its very hard to adjust to something
your not used to.

Maybe if you take over the man your supposed to be, and find some type of peace
you might be able to find ways to make Poland your home. sitting back and letting
it get to you when you could be taking over your life and doing things and finding
more then surface beauty?

I have a Ostrowski in my fam, way up there, one of the great uncles, but they
were in Poland. it was actually his wife. so great aunt.

Im gonna go take a look again tonight. sorry this is taking so long, its hard to
know which one if you dont really have much on them, and theres alot of Stachowski
where on my dads side, because the name was no so frequent, it was easy to find
and determine. plus, i had to do phonetic searching.

even a town name would help, but you dont know that for poland, I will keep
it up till I find a clue. or close to one :) P

I am going tomorrow to Kosco? ehh, don't know if thats how ya spell it, but
they have the family tree maker for like 40$ with the ancestry and I am already
set up, so it will just update what i have. but another year of ancestry.

I found my dad on the immigration for when he was in the military and he went
to England.

so ya never know folks, I might have a brother or sister somewhere in England :)

he was Merchant Marine, and the manifest has him going to England like
15 times!

Yes, I had plenty of problems with certain family members telling me that they
didnt know anything and all pictures were thrown away and I shouldnt even
try to research, that we should give the picture (only copy) of our grandpa to
them because they were older and he was more their grandfather then he was
mine or my brothers.

later I found out the one who said all this , didnt want anything dug up on her
which I didnt do it, other people offered it to me, which my only objective was to
connect families, but of course, family had to tell "some really big gossip" but
I didnt care, and then she came over after my mother died to run me into the
ground and you know, I kept my cool and said Stella "did you take your medicine
today?"

lol shut her right up.

Just like as in common sense, when your born, you dont know everything, your
taught it, or learn on your own , its something you dont do or can do.

in the case where he went to harpo's, I am sure he was told its a bad area.
for many of us, common sense would tell us, this is not somewhere you sit
alone in a car. And especially at night, even in area's not known for this type
of behavior, it happens.

My suggestion, learning that this is the case. if your going to be risky, at least
do it with more friends. There is saftey in numbers.

Now if he wasnt told anything and completely unaware, from eye view of the area
you can tell its not safe, homes are abandon, and you dont see many places
without bars up on the doors and windows. so, warning signs were there.

what happened was unfortunate, he was out, had fun, car messed up
so his situation was grim. I know there is no excuse for that type of people
who rob and harm others. I never said anything like that.

its called respect. sometimes even that can get you out of a bad predictiment.

it should be teach your children to respect and treat others as you want to be
treated. otherwise. no one moves forward.

ps. just to clarify the above, in that situation, he had no choice. after already
putting himself there, its always best to just listen to the person whos robbing
you and try to stay calm.

all Blacks, asians, etc are not bad, generalizing is pure racists. and you
know its true, I know theres bad areas, I have pointed that out, and I dont
condone it, so there is no argument on my views and feelings on the subject
because this is everyday life, the whole nation of blacks does not go around
killing they dont ride horses in the street and say white man dies!!

so get real, I know there is corrupt people out there, this exists in all nationalities
I wont argue anymore on what I know is the truth, so while you in your little

and yes for the record I am polish and not in one bit scared or feel that in any
way other nationalities would do harm, bad people exist in every nation
and its been this way for centuries.

and if I do need facts i will go seek someone who knows more about this subject
and has more experience and see all views from each angle, and not his own

even imagine their views. what you see on the surface isnt always whats the
truth. and dont even tell my govt didnt have anything to do with it. Govt is

that they are not part of your culture.

it would be so much easier to see it differently if you were on their end wanting
better.

How would you feel if it were? you had children who wanted to make friends
but because no one wants to be their friend and you moved your family to a
safer region to live and become part of that region and a citizen and learn
the culture. All of the sudden your rushing to the shool because one of your
children was beat up by other kids who were taught that people of other colors
are bad and steal and all are animals, and that your child was beaten senseless
and it was all over this fear instilled into these childrens heads from hating other
nations?

I am sure that the message is not clearly taught one way or the other as we seen
and have seen many times things like this happen. I would be devastated if it
was my child who was harmed or did the harming .

maybe because of the way us adults are percieving what is being said, how
would children understand it as? there is alot of issues that should be brought
to light when teaching them about preservation. one is to not teach that
color of skin is bad, because this is wrong message when telling them to preserve.

MyG- Grandfather Antoni was a Miller, had 7 children, his first wife had died during
childbirth, her parents had died, and he inherited the mill , 5 of these seven children
were my G-Grandmothers who passed. Well since he had such young children, he
had to find a new wife, because he couldnt work and take care of the children.

so after his second marriage, and two more children, by this time, the other children
became old enough to work with him in the mill, the locals would come over and
have their wheat ground into Flour. and in return (payment) they would leave him
enough to make bread. This was a memory all the kids were fond of was the smell
of fresh baked bread :)

Well, his Eldest son John, who was very much against war, and was a arcitect who
could build something out of scraps of wood , candy wrappers by seeing what
it looked like and taking in its features. was called for draft into austrian army
to which he didnt believe in going, so he and some of his friends decided they
would gather all their money and go to America!

Well Shortly after he landed in America, his father sent him a letter, stating that
if he didnt tell the truth that he had stolen money from him to go to America, they
would put his father in jail.

so he wrote it (with out any truth to it and never stole in his life) and sent it to
the Polish Govt so that they would not take his father away from the rest of the
children .

Well, two years later, Grandpa Antoni decides to send his second oldest son to
America with his brother.

Grandpa Antoni was very stubborn, and when it came time for MY Grandfather
Michael to sign up for drafts into the austrian army, Grandpa Antoni No Way!

someone had told him that the one of the soldiers was sleeping with the Colonels
wife! Well, it was one of the Captains who was doing it.
infuriated with this, Grandpa Antoni sent Michael to America.

when asked why he didnt want his sons drafted. His reply was

They will not join , I will not have my sons fighting in a ************ war!
