News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

Now tell the truth Franek!

What's so funny woman?

She caught a glimse in the mirror!

Harassing them even today for that? You really should shut up!

Glad you got that in before me, you know I get a little over heated at times..Well said Herr Butty :)

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

Well its like this... I like a garden will with flowers of different colors... in different patches and proportions... creating new... or displaying its own grandeur!

It gives... more than what we already have. Makes the world look todays...

That what I feel.

In your mind yes, how many race related riots have you had in Poland? Ask the French and Germans ask the indiginous population from a country that has a culturally diverse population.

Here are a few links :) Just think, Poland are so lucky, they have all this to look foward to :)

Hmm... maybe then for the economy as a whole. They do contribute to your economy. Such a vibrant immigrant british culture you have.

to a certain degree, of course - but if you imagine that 70% of immigrants send a large proportion of their earnings out of the country - it's not helping as much as it could.

Its good I guess, to have diversity. Makes the country look good :)

Why?

When other cultures live like that I can't see why they wanted to leave their own countries in the first place...It don't make sence.

MONEY! HEALTH SERVICES! Need I go on...They couldn't give a sh!t about the UK - we are just a big fat pot of money and housing stock to be abused - not to mention the crime problems that come with them. The UK is seen as easy game...or was, it would appear that we are spending a bit more time and effort to crack down on these people :)

By the way you go on about cuisine - we don't need floods of immigrants here to improve our eating habbits - didn't you notice that since an abundance of curry houses and chinese chippys opened the British got bigger! I enjoy cooking Spanish and Italian (at home) and funnily enough I get my recipies out of a book not from the local take-away.

Life / What Flower is Representative of Poland [14]

So it's the poppy then...I've never seen the light coloured ones before, they're quite beautiful :)

I would say the red poppy is more associated with war the one above is quite different.

Life / I am in Poland on a tourist visa and have been here for 2 years.. [53]

This is not America... here you have problems to borrow a book from the library without Polish ID... So you don't have Pesel, NIP, you don't pay ZUS, taxes ?

You can get anything for a price, Im sure ID's are easy to get same as in any country - the guy already stated he worked for cash in hand so he's never paid any tax.

Whilst I feel sorry for him, I don't understand why he didn't try for some kind of permenant residency - maybe he just didn't like the idea of paying tax!

Life / What Flower is Representative of Poland [14]

English girls with pretty complexion- 'English roses'

It's not just that, the rose is also associated with wars in the UK "War of the Roses" Lancashire & Yorkshire - and still today we have the red rose of Lancashire and the white rose of Yorkshire.

I was just curious regarding Poland and if they had a flower that most people would instantly think of.

I just have an interest in flowers and their meanings too :0)

News / Lavrov Visit: Warsaw Bracing Itself for a Firm Talk [28]

David Miliband four-letter abuse from Russian foreign minister

Neither of them has any class / professionalism then, because Miliband shouldn't speaking about such things in public...And to be quite honest having seem Miliband interviewed I can't really blame Lavrov for losing it, he is a patronising idiot.

Life / What Flower is Representative of Poland [14]

Sunflowers seem to be very popular..

But would all Poles think of Poland when they see a Sunflower:

Like Scotland - I think of a Thistle or Wales I think of the Daffodill

Love / In your opinion, are most Polish women 'Easy'? [243]

well I would but in the last day, ive seen so many posts degrading women it
makes me sick.....

True..

I know how to have fun, but someone who I find rather nice and a gentleman
pointed out that why advertise on the net.. hes right..

Not many gentlemen about these days :(

I could really care less who has sex with whom.. the point is, we come here
to learn about Poland and People dissing the female population like they
are easy, stupid, blah blah blah.. its annoying..

Good point Pat, I haven't noticed any of these perverts ask a single thing about Poland apart from "Are Polish Girls Easy"

the really stupid thing is, while all you men are drooling with you lip hangin
over to the side, its creating hate among certain groups , and is this
healthy?? no,, thats my point, do it respectfully, treat your own culture
same as the culture you are interested in.. with respect..

Excellent points :)

USA, Canada / What can I expect in Poland compared to the United States? [48]

has a very small fridge, is this common?

Poles tend to buy fresh and cook, rather than having a freezer full of read-made meals.

There is a thread dedicated to milk that will answer your questions on that.

Work / Still having a hard time in Poland, no job and low pay.. [15]

For Poles working abroad the money they earn is worth less when they sent it home (noimmi will be pleased). For people like me who want to move there it means I won't be able to afford to buy a particularly nice home outright.

As you said it wont affect me and will affect those that are sending money out of the UK, damn!

For Polish business the strength of the Zloty is bad for exports.

This I understand, but at present their economy seems to be stable and no where near as bad as some others in the EU.

USA, Canada / VISA TRAVEL TO USA [32]

I believe same should be for Poles.

Not really, since they have a lot of Poles that over-stay their visas, so it kind of ruins it for those that are honest and only want to visit for a short time and do actually want to go back to their own country.
