Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

I can assure u that alcohol is much more damaging to ur brain that marijuana!

Russians claim that drinking vodka reguraly is good for health. People are assuring of what they want things to be. But the fact is that most of people after few years of heavy drinking still have a chace of getting back to normal life, people after few years of heavy smoking will always stay freaks, besides "MJ" is often just the first step leading to much more danger drugs.

Law / What will happen to PLN Zloty when the Euro is adopted? [10]

Hard to say as officially we haven't even yet made a decision that we are joining Euro zone but before any country joins It must keep exchange rate relatively stabel for 2 years at least and next after the country joins It will have both currency for some time but already without flexible exchange rate.

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

It seems to me that poles have no problem with children even as young as 16 drinking.

No...

alcohol can't even be compared to MJ in terms of damage to ur body

Sure It can't. "MJ" makes a pudding out of one's brain faster than any serious damage made by alcohol can be seen.

News / Storyville: The Polish Ambulance Murders (BBC4) [43]

Were there really 50,000 people murdered?

No... Proven was no more than 10, in reality within years that could be several times more but nowhere even close to thousands.

Isn't that impossible

Yes...

that would be the biggest mass murder in the history

No...

Don't you know by now BW you can't speak bad about Poland.

Some day I will write that Hillary has eaten alive 500 people and Pentagon was hiding that and next I will say that any Yank, who don't agree with that lives in denial...

I got crucified for talking about what happened to me in Poland.

Have you left already ?

News / Storyville: The Polish Ambulance Murders (BBC4) [43]

It is years old case. 50 thousand ? The whole health care would have to be involved. There were suspicions in several dozen of cases and 6 or 8 were proven. I think 2 got life in prison for killing and a few others a few years for taking bribs. How wasn't It a big story ? It had been a huge one for weeks. Government and the Church involved ?? What the hell ? And Prince Charls was raping and killing children in Rwanda... Do they say these BS in that "documentary" ?

Life / Public Hospitals in Poland - How much to stay in one? [6]

Cost of stay was 1800 pln.

It depends what they were doing to you. Just for staying there shouldn't be more than 100 pln a day.

I have since heard that i probabaly could have got it cheaper in a private hospital.

That's not impossible.

Life / Racist violence in Poland [172]

The only thing is that in Poland as soon as you leave the big cities (and even in the big cities), as a non-white person you need to always watch your back.

And how do you know that ? 2 weeks before you hadn't had any clue.

Thank God Poland is a country without national or religious minorities. Who knows what would have happened then.

We would be making sausage out of the. What else ?

Language / Learnign Polish...any tips!? [33]

Learning completely on your own doesn't seem to be a good idea. I think that you should try to find some course of Polish and learn there at least basic stuff.

News / Alchemy Polish vodka commercial - "Polaks innovations" [48]

Nor funny neither offending. Simply poor.

I could never understand why everybody can sell their vodka, including French, yet Polish cannot?

I see you are making as much sense as usual.

Real Estate / Interesting Article on Polish Real Estate [33]

To even suggest that the price of real estate will not grow exponentially smacks of a lack of patriotism.

What are you talking about ? Most people here would love to see prices going down.

Global Housing bubble

There is no "global market" in this case.

Travel / What are Your Best Poland Travel Tips? [64]

Is it also referred to as Magura, or is that another park?

Magura is the mountain near Szczyrk - about 200 km to the west from Magurski National Park but there is also something called Magura Wątkowska, which is inside the park and includes 4 mountains or rather hills.

The main part of the Park covers the ridge of Mt Magura Wątkowska, culminating at Mt Wątkowa (847 m.). Northern slopes of the ridge are cut through by the Bednarka and the Kłopotnica streams.

UK, Ireland / Multiple wives will mean multiple benefits in Britain (not only for Polish married couples) [29]

Husbands with multiple wives have been given the go-ahead to claim extra welfare benefits following a year-long Government review, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

Even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal.

Life / Obtaining Polish Health Insurance [7]

If you are a Polish citizen and would be "student dzienny" (classes Monday-Friday in mornings and early afternoons) then you sure would have health insurance for free. If you would be "student wieczorowy/zaoczny" (classes in late afternoons/weekends) then you get a job and then employer pay your health insurance or get unemployed status (but that can be taken away If you aren't willing to clean streets or take other "cool" jobs no one else wants) and then state pays for It. But I'm not sure how that looks like If you don't have citizenship.
