UK, Ireland / Polish as Irelands Third Offical language? [123]

taking the time to sit and think about this, it actually makes more sense if poland changes its official language to english

UK, Ireland / Polish as Irelands Third Offical language? [123]

too big for their boots --

someone who is too big for their boots behaves as if they are more important or more clever than they really are.

UK, Ireland / Polish as Irelands Third Offical language? [123]

i strongly disagree with this idea.i think it's silly and will create barriers beetwen the 2 nations.it's completely unnecessary.at the moment everyone in the uk and ireland can speak polish freely.this decision would have made the irish more suspicious and hostile towards the poles.it's not that difficult to learn english and introducting polish as a 3rd official language would do more harm than good but it's just my opinion.

exactly - its a preposterous idea - talk about too big for boots

Life / immaturity within the polish male youths [10]

women should be treated with respect, with kindness, with care,

what a sweeping generalisation

treat people for who they are as individuals, regardless of gender, race, creed or colour

Law / Today's Zloty - 1.00 GBP = 5.25471 PLN [29]

as pointed out on another thread, today's exchange rate is 1.00 GBP = 5.25471 PLN which is putting a smile on my face

do you think we are going to continue to see movement in the right direction or is this just a temporary fluctuation...?

Life / Do not experiment with Polish medicine if you don't know what it is. [16]

its strange - the first time i lived in poland i was diagnosed with pneumonia as well as a heart murmer, both of which resulted in considerable worry and time off work... so i decided to fly back to the uk and have my GP check me out... his diagnosis was considerably less worrying...

News / Poland 2007 Elections: PO Won, PIS second [232]

What laws are you exactly talking about Bubba?

Poland's centre-right opposition party Civic Platform has scored a crushing victory in the country's general election, ending the turbulent two-year reign of Poland's Kaczynski twins.

"crucial laws" telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/10/22/wpoland222.xml

and it doesnt get much more important than crucial

drugs, crime, fraud, materialism, rich get richer and poor get poorer......

this is poland today - and lets be clear that 'the west' is not forcing their values on poland, poland is clamoring to get whatever they can...

News / Poland 2007 Elections: PO Won, PIS second [232]

are these the same morals and values that pan potato is displaying when he threatened to veto crucial new laws - smacks of childish immaturity

once a potato always a potato, thats what i say
