Feedback / Forum Ideas - Listing - Who is online/Who is reading this thread [58]

I think things are just fine as they are here on PF.

Me too! I don't like the idea of tracking people. That's not acceptable.

I think most users won't feel comfortable knowing someone else may be "watching" them. The Internet become so great because it is in a way anonymous most of the times.

Yes, I like anonymous...I like that I can watch you all and you don't know it... (well you know it Admin since you are The All Seeing Eye!).

I like the element of SURPRISE! :) ahahaha!

I never have a need to use such functions..

Eek! A forum where you can Track People! That's like stalking! What forum is that? I've just joined a couple of new Polish ones!

For people who are lurking. Why expose them ?

Exactly! I like a good lurk! Seriously though, I like observing a bit.

I won't object if Admin changes things...I'll just leave...*sniff*..................just kidding ;)

Feedback / Forum Ideas - Listing - Who is online/Who is reading this thread [58]

Well I don't know of any forums who tell you who is viewing each topic (although they might say 2 viewing or something like that) but some of them do say at the bottom how many members there are (and who they are), how many staff (and who they are) and how many guests.

Like I said - not essential though.

Actually - sometimes I like that people don't know I am here...

I don't know that topic listings are a good idea (what's the point?) but I have been on a few other forums recently and they seem to list members who are online at the moment and logged in. That might be an idea. Not essential of course

Travel / Aurora Borealis over Poland [16]

Oops. Forgot to do it! I'll have a search now! Sorry, got caught up in Aurora!

Well, from what I have quickly read, most clicking noises/various noises are being put down to various animals/lizards/snakes.

I know they don't but it would have been nice to see what they might have turned out like...and I have seen some cracking pics of Aurora!

I remember that eclipse, the oddest thing.

Don't know about clicking deserts but now I'm going to have to Google it! lol

No! But at a guess I would say that 'click' was other peoples camera's!

Absolutely amazing. You can't take your eyes off them. Truly a wonder. So enthralled I never took one pic - which I thoroughly regret. Hope to see them again soon though.

Yes, that's the main reason chopping threads from the start wouldn't be the greatest idea..

Yeah, you're right I suppose...but I am having better idea's outwith PF this evening so I'll live with that. :)

Any further suggestions I'll keep to myself! :)

To the Almighty Admin maybe! :)

I didn't really mean for topics to be closed, but just chopped at the start even though people might still be posting on them! I suppose that takes away from the actual topic in the first place of course...

Never mind!

An archive might have been nice for some of the more interesting topics about Poland/Polish people - like the Vintage Photo's topic, would hate to see that one disappear.

Feedback / Archives [20]

Could you specify what you mean by that?

Aye! Some of the topics here are getting a bit lengthy, I just wondered if it might be an idea to have an archive of some sort so that the lengthier topics might be chopped but so that people could still read if they wished. And perhaps older topics, that may be of interest to people (eg new people) but have not been commented in for a while, could go in there as well. Just a suggestion. :)

Hey Admin or Mods

Is there any call to have an archive here on PF? Or any reason why there isn't? :)

UK, Ireland / To Polish people living in the UK - how much your English improved? [16]

If any of my Polish colleagues are interested in learning English, I do try to help.

Yes I am the same but it's difficult.

I should say that most of the Polish people I know do actually make the effort to learn English and generally their English has improved :) As for my Polish, however...

UK, Ireland / To Polish people living in the UK - how much your English improved? [16]

One woman I know is returning to Poland next week for good...its fair to say her English may have got worse in the time she's been here.

how can they improve their English? Especially when they work long hours.....

This is true...a lot of my Polish friends are working long, hard hours. One girl can only manage to go to college 4 days a week because she works long hours the other 3 and her husband works his knackers off as well.
