Not having a bath does not not mean not washing. Yes I was brought up in a house without a bathroom and with an outside toilet and yes bath night was in a tin bath in the middle of the lounge but it didn't mean I did not have a full wash every night in the sink. So the countdown has begun. Less than nine hours until the flight to Athena. Pre match nerves starting to build. The real problem I’m wrestling with is what to wear this year. In Istanbul two years ago I made the mistake of going for the dashingly smart but casual look. Looked great in London but when compared with the Milan fans I resembled a poor advert for TK Max. This year I think I will go for the alternative Brit abroad look to provide a distinctive, retro feel. I think it will have to be: sandals (with socks), very short lilac shorts, the Stevie G replica shirt and an old but cherished Mets baseball cap. Should have enough time in the sun tomorrow morning to acquire that freshly roasted, verging on sun stroke look to leave nobody in any doubt where I come from. Will try not to repeat the overly friendly interaction with the Milan fans from two years ago when too much red wine was downed before the game.

Maybe they've improved since I was there (three years ago now, tempus fugit) but I found them pretty useless even for Warsaw so you probably have a good idea there. There used to be couple of reasonable web sites for expats (expats-in-poland is the only one I can remember. Good luck with the venture if you proceed with it.
