Life / Puertorican says GOOD-BYE to Poland forever [104]

There is a world of culture, fun and excitement within the hispanic galaxy. I just thought I could branch out beyond my known world and
and BOLDLY GO WHERE NO PUERTORICAN HAS GONE BEFORE>>>>>> I thought I had picked a safe country as it respects Poland but I was wrong

Youve been watching too much star trek mate.

UK, Ireland / Night school - Polish language classes in the UK [8]

I know one in Central London (near Oxford street). Prices vary according to length of course and how many classes a week you have. They do classes starting around 6pm and 7pm for 2 hours either once or twice a week. Average price is around £200 for a course and there are different levels, but best check out their website for all the details: polworld.co.uk. I know some others in London too, but this is the cheapest Ive found.

I started a course there a while ago, have to admit I dropped out, but am planning to go back.

UK, Ireland / DONT WORK FOR premiernursinguk [33]

no-one gives a **** Nichola.. you are just wasting your own and every one elses time.. if you really are a legitimate agency I doubt you would behave in this manic fashion, nor respond it that way. Just place a job ad and be done with it.

i worked for them once, they promised me good money, but I got only £1.50 an hour for 12 hours shift and was treated terribly. I think they are really a front for money laundering and not a legitimate business.

Food / the best cure for hangover-the polish way ;) [76]

dont eat eggs or sausage myself.. I like bacon, beans, tomato mushroom bubble & squeak and/or hash browns and bread & butter... and maybe a can of Coke or a hot chocolate (dont drink tea and coffee).. avg. price £4.50 in London (variable).

Sorry, felt the need to revive the hangover thread to go with the other one.. anyway, thats pretty much it for me.. Im off down the pub. Have a good one.

Kefir is a cultured, enzyme-rich food filled with friendly micro-organisms that help balance your "inner ecosystem." More nutritious and therapeutic than yogurt, it supplies complete protein, essential minerals, and valuable B vitamins.

wow.. sounds good, so I guess you order a crate of that to go with your crate of dogfish.

Love / Polish Girl and American Guy? [33]

Sapphire....I would very much like to hear about your experiences

OK ..well my man spoke hardly any English when I met him and I didnt know a word of Polish.. despite that pretty big barrier we moved in together 6 months later and we have now been together for 2 yrs. Hie English has improved and I know a bit of Polish, but I have to admit that it hasnt been easy at times, not only because of the language, but the cultural differences are huge and at times we have come close to splitting because of this.. however, we love each other (most of the time). I think Polish guys are different to Polish girls (which is obviously not a bad thing)..anyway, I wish you luck with your relationship and feel free to contact me any time.

News / Man from Zakopane who cut off his own genitals [53]

ok.. yeah I can imagine its not pleasant.. have always felt sorry for animals that have to be castrated. I have witnessed horses and bulls being castrated with those metal clamps and they didnt look too happy later. :(

News / Man from Zakopane who cut off his own genitals [53]

people are afraid to get Bobbitized.

sorry dont understand what that means (circumcised?). John Bobbit became a porn star later didnt he? (he had a penile extension at the same time as having his tackle reattached). Still its a bit madder to cut them off yourself. Wondering if I have an unhealthy interest in this subject? maybe my bf needs to start worrying :)

Love / Polish Girl and American Guy? [33]

hey you guys need to move to the bullying thread and have a good old rant! In reference to the earlier comment about women spending mens money.. would like to add that its very possible for men to spend womens money too.. especially Polskis living overseas.

Language / What would you name your pet in Polish? [11]

ask him what that means

Ive asked him but he says he doesnt know the English meaning. Does it have any significance in Polish?

I had a dog called Willy once.. he used to keep running away and I was constantly walking the streets shouting "WILLY, WILLY".. got some funny looks at time.

yeah he was definitely nuts alright.. I heard the Polish guy was too late to save his tackle..you would have thought that mountain climate would have kept them fresh for a while! Poor sod. Wonder if anyone has ever done any research into how common this is?
