History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

so the choice is:

dont have sex and probably not catch aids

have sex with a condom and probably not catch aids

hmmm... wonder which one looks the winner to the average african...?

everybody remains celibate then they get married.

now i know youre not living in the real world - nice try

if people would stop having sex and wait till marriage it would stop spread of aids.

believing that if people would stop having sex and wait till marriage it would stop spread of aids is pretty foolish. you dont even have to be SMART to work out thats a no-goer

no. we have already established that you can catch aids just as easily once you are married. being married doesn not provide protection from aids - has your church taught you this?

if I didn't have sex I would have AIDS

now youre confusing me. if you do have aids i suggest you get married as quickly as possible. apparently its a cure

yes, but preaching abstinence shows a lack of understanding human nature and a worrying degree of nieivity, especially from someone in such a position of influence. its a bit like saying if you dont want to put on weight then dont eat - a little bit silly

If protection is not available because someone has deemed it to be wrong, it is not an option.
So the punishment for the 'sin' of fornication is death by AIDS?

which re-enforces my point

as i said in my seemingly offensive pani bacia post - it might not have been the popes aim to kill but through his actions he was indirectly responsible for many deaths

what's ridiculous about it?

its ridicularse because it implies that aids cannot be caught once you are married

you are to blame. Not the bloke who suggested you walk instead of drive. In this case the Pope has told you not to drive...you would like him to advocate how you should drive...you are responsible for splattering that (knees up) mother brown not him!

youre quite right - if i you are stupid enough to live your life by someone elses teachings then you only have yourself to blame

are these words needed to make your ever so complicated (NOT) point comprehensible to a Polish person?

no - as you say, there ws nothing coimplicated about the sentence

why did you take offence at my use of those words...?

lesser said that if you follow the catholic teaching of sexual abstinence to marrige then the spread of aids/hiv is hardly possible - which is a ridiculous thing to say

The church is against condoms, they "offer" you sexual abstinence till marriage. If man and woman follow this Catholic teaching then HIV/AIDS is hardly possible.

what a ridiculous thing to say

that's a good point about John Paul however it wasn't his intention to spread aids.

so... if i drive down the street with my eyes closed and without the intention of killing pani babcia does that mean im not to blame when she gets splattered...?

I would say that 90% of them claim to live in the UK.

yeah, but that doesnt for one moment mean that they are from the uk

at least half the trolls on here are polish living in the uk

Life / Local Poles taking advantage of foreigners living in Poland [235]

I just realized what you said

dont jump to conclusions - i have much too much going on in europe to pack bags yet :-)

but the Germans are very good drivers...they go at insanely fast speeds on the autobahn and have very few accidents and while they go fast they are safe.

a true generalisation, really brought home when driving through germany and on into poland - the difference is marked

cause your going to be part
of the rude arse super-power who runs the world

yes, but i will be an english man abroad and bring culture, sophistication and refinement to all i meet :-)

I find people in the states generally more polite than many places

joking aside, i found this to be the case as well

But I say it is not perspective but measurable quantity

it quite possibly is, but what are you basing measurements on if not your own perceptions?

don't know what that is about

if youre talking about english chavs in wawa then id put it down to a realisation that poland has cheap beer and nice women, which are the main reasons for chavs travelling

a nationality's rudeness in comparison to another's is a matter of perception

as an english man i am extremely polite and find most other nationalities wanting in both common courtesy and basic manners

Life / Whats driving like in Poland? [70]

It's called young kids.

in the uk i would agree with you - boy racers tend in the most part to be very young men - this is not what i have observed in poland where most of the high speed and show off drivers i see are grown adults, male and female, driving what appear to be high spec company cars

you have never ever became angry and said things out of anger
and wanted to kick someones arse? if you say no, your lying, because every
person on this planet experiences enough degree of anger to say things like what
greg said...

perhaps this is true - but i think i grew out of this tencendy in my early teens having learnt that violence doesnt solve much, people tend to get hurt and it just makes you as bad as the person you are angry with

i have noticed that violence tends to be the answer to problems for a lot of americans - as does the need for revenge, which again i grew out of when much younger

If so, the effects on immigration

i suspect that as the value of sterling continues to fall and the zloty becomes increasingly stronger, we will see economic immigrants leaving the uk in their droves and going to live in poland

With so weak GBP you would have to beg me to do that...

yeah - im making a fortune of the strenghtening zloty yipee!

I see Germany from my window and have been there too many times.

yeah but its only when you have live somewhere that you begin to understand - until then you are form opinions on your own prejudices

BTW the topic is not about me but about British inferiority complex

actually G this thread is ALL about you - the insecurities that you feel as a pole and your projection of these onto the english as a way for you to find some worth

get out If you aren't interested.

youre too funny G
