Ahh. I could never quite handle the sugar with wodka. It gives me massive hangovers if I use soda to dillute alcohol, or anything for that matter. I either drink it straight, (from a tall glass, Polish style, haha) or nothing at all.

Exactly what I've been trying to say. He won't change, why bother? If he has an obvious problem with it, get him some help. Otherwise, leave the poor Pole alone : )

Not true, don't listen to the above responses. This guy can clean up and drink less. You don't have to break up with him. I'm sure he's a nice guy deep down. As long as he isn't hurting you physically, try getting him to stop.

I'm half Polish, Eurola. I consistently drank Wodka as a younger man with my father and my uncles etc.. I know how it is! Greeks aren't much different in that respect either : )

Not sure. I don't like custard.

As for the powder though, thats the best part, when the sugar is getting all over you as you devour multiple paczki's in a row : )

I once had raspberry filled paczki. wow.

There are still 25 veterans of Spanish civil war living In Poland. About a year ago there was a proposal by PiS to take away their privileges and reduce their pensions to minimum.

Ahh, good ol' PiS. That is what it was good for, bringing justice to all the former communist rats.

Yes, Avari were involved. But there were Slavic tribes, under their own power that helped the Persians as well.

You cannot compare slavic mentality

Yes, I know. But what I'm trying to get is that Slavic-Byzantine relations weren't as beautiful as they are put out to be. Remember, that Slavs helped a Persian invasion of Constantinople in the 7th century, by building ships and helping transport Persian infantry to the eastern shores of the city. Unsucessfully may I add. Slavs did this under their own power and consideration.

Greeks and Northern Italians (not only them) would greatly profit from Slavic Union or at least from consolidated Slavic civilization (alternative world to EU). You would be safe, Slavs aren`t hostile and trade, bussines, profits could reach levels behind imagination. It would be your golden age once again just this time not on the expanse of Slavs but thru mutual cooperation (that`s the beauty).

Slavs would bring the balance in the world, among global civilizations.

I agree Crow. Greeks would finally break the strangle hold that has been on them from the E.U and Western countries, and experience a revival, a Byzantine revival would you say maybe? Like I said, counterbalance is the only thing to maintain peace in the world. Certainly after that, the nations would evolve and war would only be history.

As for Putin putting forth that idea, I am not for anything that Putin says. He is not to be trusted, that one. A union would only be fruitful and realistic if all nations were treated and profit equally. Putin would make a mess of things..

If you ask me, Slavs would retaliate in magnificent counterstrike. Yes, they would. Just wait that Russia, Poland and Ukraine start to work together.

I would not mind seeing a Slavic union created to counteract that one of the E.U. But this will never happen in our lifetimes, maybe never. There are simply too many things that pull us apart..
