Life / Cultural readjustment... returning to Poland from the West. [58]

I see what u r saying but it is not so easy to overturn a powerful regime. If people spoke out against Hitler, they ran the risk of being shot. Look at Iran's leader now, he has caused a lot of suffering, together with the Ayatollah's, but Iranians won't oust them out of fear.

Some Germans have maintained their traditional arrogance and will look down at Slavs, that much is true, but what can be done?

UK, Ireland / Are the Poles in England hated? [450]

I don't get upset easily. If my family or animals get attacked, then I get very upset and do sth about it :)

Gołąbki in a jar is quite ok but I get it from the local bar (that sounded bad). It's fresh and home made. Super tasty

Haven't u noticed that most posters in this forum have been alluding to the mass numbers being the problem and not the individual characteristics of the Poles? Why be hateful anyway? It'll only precipitate a rapid acquisition of cancer

UK, Ireland / Man found guilty of the kidnap and murder of his former Polish girlfriend [23]

Too many toxic relationships. I count my lucky stars that I'm 'wired up' right. Not in the Ozzy Osbourne sense u understand.

I agree BW, blackmail is a dangerous game. I don't speak ill of the dead too often but greedily trying to claim that grand was a bad mistake, a dear and costly one.

The size and shape reminds me too much of spam, hence putting me off it a bit but I'm sure it's more than edible. I'm not sure if bigos would be classed as pork stew tho. The Poles often use chicken and diced sausage.

It's Hitler and his Germans, what crap!! It was Hitler and his Nazis, how could u possibly say otherwise? U really need to understand the fear inducing tactics of psychopaths at the top. I get cheesed off with people who say bad things about German people because of what Hitler did. Have u even read the prelude to the Nurember Trials? Stop being so anti-German, this generation of Germans reviles what happened.

I think u r right szkotja2007. Bigos is best home made, all Poles know that. When I showed some jars to my dad when I was back, he was quite happy to know what he was gonna eat. We translated the ingredients for him. I really think that Scots would go for gołąbki and bigos big time. Klopski and other things too. We like high fat food. The Scots had the potential to make such foods but the Poles beat us too it. The Poles chose well, they incorporated leczo, bogracz and goulasz into the Polish diet. Hungarian food is delicious too.

Life / How to deal with rude rich Polish people? [65]

I'd just laugh them off Rocky!! It takes time for people to get set up and accumulate some wealth. My parents were poor when I was younger but now they are quite well off.

Let people have their twisted perceptions. I'm treated as just a person of convenience for some of these business people, just a teacher. It'd hurt them to know that I get more than them, working for 2 schools but that's just stats. I actually like the idea of living cheaply and saving cash, rather than blowing it on a car or other thing that I don't need.

I've heard that snobs from Krakow and Warsaw are like that. The thing is, it's all relative. They reckon 6000PLN gross is really good. For me, that's alright but nothing to write home about. More money wouldn't change me, being rude is not sth I'm good at.

A key strategy is just to ignore them. If they don't understand or accept that people are poorer than them, send them packing. I HATE such people.

Life / Looking for a Polish hiphop artist... [19]

I have so much Polish hiphop on CD. I didn't request it, it was just on some CD's I was given. Some decent stuff there although it's not my genre.

Life / Where would you rather live in Poland? [54]

God Bless Poland and their holidays. 4 days of free time now, I wish I'd booked a jaunt away somewhere. Still, 2 Zubr's and 2 Tyskie's later, I can dream.

UK, Ireland / The Independent about Poles in the UK: "Poles are under attack." [83]

Thankfully, I know many upbeat Poles. The taxi drivers who take me to companies are always chipper, even tho they have hard lives. My Polish friends are also that way. Poles like that will respond in kind to light-hearted banter and vibes. I always try to create a positive atmosphere and they respect that
