News / 100zl note should be phased out. [20]

When I first came to Poland about 8 years ago, i thought that the 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Zloty notes had the same king, just different profiles as he got older the value increased.

Yes, I did not have a clue, of course.

ten zloty

twenty zloty

Genealogy / Has anyone heard of Samary? Is it in Poland? [6]

Hello poliwog,

And welcome to the Polish Forums.

I just googled "samary map", apparently it is in Ukraine.

Historically it could have been Poland, as the boarders have moved.

Travel / Recommendations for Zakopane [48]

If you follow the main pedestrianised street (Ul. Krupowki) north, down hill you will come to the main market with many outside stalls.
Keep going through the market and at the end you will find Gubalowka Hill.

Gubałówka Hill funicular, used to transport riders to the summit

from here Wiki

I went up this for the first time yesterday, there are bars and restaurants at the top.
I took the last photos above this post from the top and on the walk down.

Life / The first Polish movie I watched (I am Chinese). [24]

The first Polish movies I watched were A Short Film About Killing and A Short Film About Love by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
8 years ago I was coming to Poland but knew nothing about Poland, so I got these two films and boy are they depressing.
He also did Three Colors Blue, Three Colors White and Three Colors Red which were great!.

Wow christy1991,
That place in the photos looks absolutely amazing, perhaps you could start a thread about China?, it is such a big country with such a long interesting history.

Since when??????

I would say during communism, I can't think of any good films in the last 8 years.
Could be that during communism, they had to be creative to get past the censors.

Love / Need advice with Polish girl, I like her but she has a boyfriend. [114]

Need advice with Polish girl, I like her but she has a boyfriend.

Easy,
Get a top notch prostitute to jump the "boyfriend", then show your "friend" that he is cheating.
And you can be her shoulder to cry on and jump her then.
It always works ;)

Is it that nobody bothers to make noise complaints?

i believe complaining to guys with guns can be detrimental to your health :)

Love / What is your opinion on the Polish Ladies in Krakow? [82]

Should I even bother going to Krakow?
I don't need this crap.

hello johncardwell,

And welcome to the Polish Forums.

It sounds like you have had some bad experiences but that is all they are.

If you come here thinking like that, it is not going to be pleasant.
I know you might think that I am being rude but I am not.
It seems to me, you will find what you are looking for and if you look for badness, well that is what you are going to get.

I am from Ireland and I live near Krakow and enjoy it here very much but that is just me.

Best of luck.

UK, Ireland / Polish man sought after murder of Irish man! [36]

RevokeNice - did you use to post (or are still posting) on the politics.ie board,
from which you were banned on numerous occasions and each time you came
back under a different username (Harvey and georgedillon being two of them)???

Wow, he really is a lonely nutty looser, Irish people threw him off that Irish forum.
And now, nutty and lonely, he trolls this one.

I almost feel sorry for a guy, who is so lonely that he can't make it on an Irish forum and so has to come here, until after some time he will get banned for his racist remarks, then join again using a different name.

How very very sad.
You were thrown out of an Irish forum (so your fellow countrymen do not like your rubbish either) and now you have come across to the Polish forums, that would be funny if it were not so sad.

RevokeNice, Steve C, Harvey or georgedillon, you are with out a doubt the biggest loser I have ever had the displeasure of meeting on the internet.

UK, Ireland / Modern Plantation for Poles in Ireland [352]

66% of the population want the Polish invasion to end!

Not true.
You manipulated this, which is another common indicator of mental health problems.

I dont get your point......

Only worry if he starts making sence :)

They by and large stick to their own.

You are a very lonely person.

UK, Ireland / Modern Plantation for Poles in Ireland [352]

The Polish invaders are the enemy of the average Irish worker.

You need help, serious psychological help.
Your display of paranoid delusions and jumping track is consistent with a few mental health problems, have you been diagnosed?.

I dont sell out for a bit of muff.

We have established that no woman would go near you, so i don't see how you could "sell out".
Ha ha ha, you couldn't get your hole in a graveyard, you loon.

If he knew anything of the history of our country, he would never have made such a contradicting and insulting thread.

I support a United Ireland,

You gave some link to some political group and then revoked your statement when another poster showed you what they were saying.
You are your own worst enemy.

Whats the point of a United Ireland when we will be a minority in our own land?

What is the point of having a untied bunch of spoilt xenophobic monsters who do not understand who they are or where they are from. (not a question)

Travel / Looking to travel to Poland for summer + looking into Tours of Poland [4]

Hello Kazimierz,

And welcome to the Polish Forums.

Which cities are a "must-see"?

I would recommend Zakopane and Krakow.

There is a lot more to do and see in Poland, so perhaps if you could tell us what you are interested in, we could better help you get what you want.

I speak a bit of Polish, but probably not enough to get by.....would this be a problem in any particular cities?

In the cities, a lot of people speak English, less in the country.
And if you can speak a little, it will help a lot.

I am open to other suggestions too...

Come here, rent a car or take the train around the country, you do not need to do that ToursofPoland.com thing, but as I said, it all depends on what you would like.

You will have an excellent time, I am sure :)

UK, Ireland / Modern Plantation for Poles in Ireland [352]

I am on a Polish bleeding forum, they are hardly going to agree with me on here are they? The Irish on here are all male and dating a Polish girl, therefore they would be biased.

So it is the world against you? hhmm.. you do realise how nutty you sound, don't you?.

Your man IrishDeano lives in happy land

Ha, you do not understand the meaning of the word plantation and are obviously jealous because IrishDeano has found love.
You must be very very lonely.

Ireland32 fails to realise the troubles are over like some Jap hiding in the jungle thirty years after world war 2.

Ha ha ha, again you are the one saying "plantation" from the 16th and 17th century and you have the balls to remark on someone who is actively working for a reunited Ireland, through politics, and you say you wanted the same thing.

Man you really need to get your story straight, you keep contradicting yourself.

Now, tell me this, how much money have you lent your bird?

You keep saying this as if you know anything about me, you don't and this statement is an obvious clue to your misfortune.
So who was the Polish bird who dumped you?, you can tell us, I will try not to laugh

UK, Ireland / Modern Plantation for Poles in Ireland [352]

RevokeNice, lets face it, you are not all there.
You are blaming Poles for something that is not their fault or problem.
You are alone in your ideas and you should feel shame for talking such rubbish, because you claim to be Irish and if so, you should know something of our history.

You fail.
