UK, Ireland / Here comes the Anti-Immigration marches.... [114]

Do you have insider knowledge that most don't?

well, obviously i play a significant role in the greater scheme of things, as my posts on this forum attest, but i dont agree that the picture is as dark as you seem to paint.

Why do you think that we have more latitude/discretion than most would suppose, B

ive got to ask what exactly you mean by latitude and discretion S

I'm afraid we do take order from Brussels.

not to the extent you might think S

but if you think to that extent, when it happens you wont be suprised

which is not a good thing

Yosser

haha... thought you were talking about yosser areyoufat, or whatever his name was

Some other countries would do well to remember what Britain has done for genuine assylum seekers since WWII

youre right of course PP. this is why i really cant find the paitence for people who constantly slight the uk for their suposed prejudices.

yeah, of course there are racists in the uk, always have bee always will be, but as a country we have welcomed countless immigrants for decades, and decades, and decades.

we're a small country, its hardly suprising that this recent influx - the largest so far - has ruffled feathers. it would be nice to see a little appreciation of the opportunities we give, every once and a while

Reaction - we're all racist, ill educated trash. Do me a favour...

as ive said countless times on here, this constant bashing is going to p!ss people off even more, obviously. if you take a dump in your bed, dont be suprised if you wake up smelling of poo - some on this forum would do well to learn this lesson

lets not forget that britain has had open doors to immigrants for decades.

what is it about this A8 influx that appears to have so upset people, and is it specifically immigrants from eastern europe, is it that the country has reached saturation, is it the economic downturn, a combination of these or something entirely different?

as if i care

when things dont go well at home, bugger off somewhere else, preferably a place where youre welcome

Life / Polish Police - my bad experience. [33]

ive given more than my fair share of money, wodka and cigarettes to polish police

strangely enough the first polish word i learnt, after piwo of course, was mandat... the two were unrelated at the time... which is also somewhat strange

Love / Polish women are known for their beauty, but men are so ugly (most of).. [250]

I'm always astonished how they can satisfy their wife's after 15 beers and a pack of cigarette.

firstly, after youve had 15 pints and a pack of cigarettes who gives a fuk about the mrs

and for the erection to;-).

and secondly, whats your interest in polish mens erections... are you a batty boy?

Travel / Nice place to holiday in the North of Poland? [26]

i recommend lalala as one of the funkier alternative places to stay in sopot - each room is designed by a different artist or designer. great selection of wine (owners dad has an excelent wine shop in central sopot), good food, an outside chill-out area and a whole heap of funky weird sh!t going on)

best way into the centre is straight down to the sea front, turn left and walk between the pine trees and beach until you come to the molo. depending on the season you will find any number of things to distract you on the way.

Most Poles after 8th grade get a job and are not required to continue studying in a liceum or technicum, or whatever.

do they not teach how to write in clearly defined paragraphs in america...?

Real Estate / Real Estate hits a new low in Poland [86]

Doing business with a pole is a tall order as they stall, change their minds, and then blame you for everying.

haha. i have sat down to sign what i thought was a fully negotiated contract one more than one occassion only for some last minute addition to be throw in.

i wouldnt mind so much if the contract hadn't already gone back and forth half a dozen times with minor little changes theyve insisted on.

but what really p!sses me off is when the last minute changes are put in because they are overwhelmed by paranoia that im about to rip them off...

the concept of win-win doesnt seem to have sunk in yet

I hope admin acknowleges your input and sound advice over the years as you have been a good resource of information.

you flatter me bolek :)

i will return to poland, without a doubt. but in all honesty, the thought of being anywhere 'for good' scares me wittless... ;)

USA, Canada / WHY SO FEW POLISH RESTAURANTS IN AMERICA? [44]

And a side-query: if backed by a major mega-buck promotional campaign, do you think Polish food would take off in America?

contrary to popular opinion on the forum there is nothing overly exciting or unique about polish cuisine - as DN says, its largely just the same old stuff that many other european countries offer... more often than not, better.

yes, its ok to eat polish food every once in a while but at the end of the day it is just peasent slop, tastey at times, but slop nonetheless. when it comes to food the poles are largely unrefined, happily insisting that theirs is the best there is and with very limited choice to build their opinions on.

americans on the other hand have a much wider choice of food available to them and, as a result, have a much maturer approach when it comes to putting food in their mouths. as do other europeans who live in more open, progressive societies

Real Estate / Real Estate hits a new low in Poland [86]

i spend my time wandering from place to place bolek, taking opportunities as they present themselves. poland is one of the few countries ive gone back to - the tri city is a great place to hang out, i have good friends there and am guaranteed fun when in town

a few years ago i had the opportunity to buy property there so i took it - not much planning involved, just an opportunity that was presented and taken. ive never been interested in property that has yet to be built so bought old, renovated and sold - if you were on the ground and had time to look then there was no shortage of bargains to be found

i have a polish business partner - i put up most of the money, identified opportunities and he sorted it out all the crap which is part and parcel of doing anything in poland. we bought, flipped and re-invested for the future which was about as detailed as the plan got.

he is one of polands first 'next-generation' entrepreneurs and we have dabbled in a number of ventures together over the years - a small hotel in sopot a couple of summers back, buying and selling, event promotion, import/export etc etc

for all the fun i have when in poland the place really p!sses me off after a while and i have had no qualms expressing this here on the forum, whoever i am posting as.

i dislike the greed, the underhandedness, the lies, the deceit, rudeness, arrogance of many polish, the self-distructive, self-centred attitude which ends up being counter-productive so often. i just find myself looking at these people and thinking 'your a fukin idiot mate, arent you'. its become a joke - i just cant take many of them seroiusly anymore

anyway, now i have taken the next opportunity which has taken me to the next place. i still have property in poland and will be back at somepoint... but doubt i will have the patience to get 'involved' in anymore projects there

on the other hand poland, with all her faults, is entirely the responsibility of the poles

Real Estate / Real Estate hits a new low in Poland [86]

I wonder under what name?

more than 1 - not too hard to spot if you know what to look for

I wonder where?

a place where the downturn wont spoil the fun - another developing country where opportunity is rife

What made you leave Poland Bubbawoo after praising it so much?

never had any plans to stay
