If you found out what really hapened to Poland in the first weeks of the war - you would not post such insults - because you are human with humility.

Ogorek....The whole world knows what happened to Poland....I have never said anything about this... I can understand how bitter you must feel about it!

Trust Greg to jump in half way through.....havn't you got a bone to fetch?

Well its not that i have a problem with the Poles i don't....Its just that i keep on responding to this Polish mythe of cracking the codes and winning the war and saving the Universe from destruction etc etc....All i have said is that it was a much more complicated story than that, in which Britain played the most important part......This fantastic success story they keep going on about was more to do with Britain than Poland....Why should we be slagged off by them?....but it obviously means more to them than it does to us because of what happed to them in 1940.....Britain has the pride that we were one of the victors....without the Enigma Code etc what else would have restored Polands pride?.....So what do they do...They blow everything out of all proportion to their input!........and as for me ***** everyone off on this site!!....Is it the truth you don't like or what?......I can feel another avalanche of statistics coming on....Don't bother folks because i know the real story.

I said if the information was not true - it will be edited (i.e.corrected) or removed.

No it doesn't mean that Ogorek.....People have been complaining about Wikipedia for a while now, because anyone can Doctor the information on it......including you!!

England and France were supposed to attack in the west. That was the deal. They didn't. Betrayal.

I can't be arsed arguing with anymore about this!!

Ogorek, you may be interested to know that Bletchley Park holds an annual " Polish Day" in honour of the first breakers of Enigma, I shall be attending next year with some collegues in various historical sociaties to put on some small dysplays in rememberence of the Polish armed forces.

Is that to make you feel better about what happened to Poland in the first weeks of the war?

Dtaylor......Are they really that bad? I can't believe there can be that many in Krakow....I mean its not as if the Poles don't know how to drink alcohol themselves?

Before you trash wikipedia - it's one of the fewest sources of information which is not riddled with propaganda and lies (i.e. you friendly old history book) Wikipedia is open and available to people who know the truth. If it's not true - it's edited by others.

I see you've been busy today Ogorek!........but don't you think your above statement is a contradiction?......You said Wikipedia is ''One of the few sources not riddled with Properganda''.....and then you went on to say that anyone can then Doctor the information in it!....Can we then assume that if everyone comes along and keeps changing the information!....Not everyone could of had their facts right to begin with?....If you see what i mean!! Anyway in the end you went on to admit that it was an Allied effort and Britain did play an important role, while Poland was not in position to do anything very much at that time!.....So i'll leave the rest at that.

UK, Ireland / Stop the Polish from entering the UK (yet another thread) [192]

i am not sure the scale of crimes but thorugh observation i do not beleive they are as horendous as robbery, fraud, murder, and drug dealing

I don't think you read the report correctly.....It said Poles were top for violent crime, sex offences and theft and handling.

UK, Ireland / Stop the Polish from entering the UK (yet another thread) [192]

It was a report in the Daily Telegraph dated 24/09/2007 under the heading.... ''Foreigners commit 5th of crime in London''......I got my original post slightley wrong.....As it said ''foreigners commit a 5th of crime in London with the Poles being the most prolific''.....Ahead even of the Afro-Caribean community which is well known for there crime......I don't think many would be for driving offences some how....I mean most people in London use the Tube don't they?

And the head of Cambridgeshire Police said recently that East European Immigrants in general had a much higher crime rate than the locals.

Our mathematicians broken its code and it shorten war by 2-3 years (maybe changed result of the war) and after the war I think in '60 - '70 brits made movie about it ... in this movie brits did everything and there was one Pole - drunken traitor ...

UK, Ireland / First generation Pole in the UK [24]

I've also found that quite often Poles won't accept me as a Pole despite the fact that both my parents are Polish and my family history in the UK only goes back as far as Hull docks in October 1950. I sometimes jokingly refer to myself as a 'Plastic Polak' because that seems to be the opinion that people have.

If thats the case JWB.....since you were born in the UK and bought up in the UK.... wouldn't it make more sense to see yourself as British?...at least being a Brit you've got more things to be proud off!!

wtg aj

Ok what does that mean?

Moving on to

"I am convinced that the time has come for the British and the Indians to be reconciled to complete separation from each other. Complete and immediate orderly withdrawal of the British from India [...] will at once put the Allied cause on a completely moral basis. [...] I ask every Briton to support me in my appeal to the British at this hour to retire from every Asiatic and African possession. ... I ask for a bloodless end of an unnatural domination and for a new era. Leave India to God and if that be too much, leave her to anarchy, necessity for withdrawal lies in its being immediate."

Yes but I would imagine these incidents took place decades apart?....Is it fair to squash every single wrong doing that took place over centuries into a single sentence?

You have plundered many nations, divided many lands and terrorized people on every continent of this world numerous times over!,

......Ok James....could you name afew????

What are you a Black and Tan boy!

I think you will find they were Irishmen!

If a police barracks is burned or if the barracks already occupied is not suitable, then the best house in the locality is to be commandeered, the occupants thrown into the gutter. Let them die there – the more the merrier. Should the order ("Hands Up") not be immediately obeyed, shoot and shoot with effect. If the persons approaching (a patrol) carry their hands in their pockets, or are in any way suspicious-looking, shoot them down. You may make mistakes occasionally and innocent persons may be shot, but that cannot be helped, and you are bound to get the right parties some time. The more you shoot, the better I will like you, and I assure you no policeman will get into trouble for shooting any man."

--Lt. Col. Smyth, June 1920[7]

Yes but the Irish weren't exactly 'Shrinking Violets' themselves were they???

Never in the field of drunken stuper
have so few - caused so much grief - to so many!!!!!!

Have you ever seen any of these people Ogorek?......or are you just quoting newspaper headlines?

Hey ajgraham also don't forget that it was the Poles that broke the Enigma
code in the 30's and gave it to England just before the war. The Brits just kept up with the German upgrades. The Enigma machine contributed to the success over 70% of allied operations.

Yes you did play apart.......the problem was that.... The Germans added an extra rotor to the machine on the very first day they invaded Poland, which obviously f***ed everything up for the Allies.......To cut a very long and complicated story short which you obviously know F***all about Ogorek.....It wasn't until the Royal Navy had captured the Binary tables from one of the U'Boats in the Atlantic where they able to start reading the codes again......and just for the record......Britain did a great deal more than just keep up with "Upgrades" We invented the Computers which enabled the messages to be read in "real time" and "up to date"....Without them everything else would have been useless......So can i stick two fingers up at you??......but i always give credit where credit is due..... Poland did play an important part!

Ok lets talk about empires (remember both no longer exist)

No not quite Ogorek....Britain is still head of the Commonwealth (they are the former Empire nations).

Ok lets talk about empires (remember both no longer exist)
The Polish empire (Kingdom actually) was created through marriage, common relations, religious understanding, freedom of speech. The Polish Kingdom contributed to Europe - it saved Europe from Ghengis Khan in 1259 and 1287. The Poles stopped the Mongols by being a buffer to Western Europe. Thousands died. The kingdom saved Europe from the the Tutonic Knights (Nazis of the time) by defeating them in the battle of Grunwald 1410. The Brits were fighting with the Germans then, but learned a lesson there. The Kingdom saved Europe in 1683 when it defeated the Ottoman Empire (Turks) who had reached Vienna. The Poles saved Europe in 1920 when it defeated the Russian army when it tried to invade Poland.
The Poles were defeated in 1939 BECAUSE THEY WERE FACKED IN THE ARS!!!

and if you hadn't of done all this.....who is to say the Germans or the French or someone else wouldn't have?......It was the Brits with Gen Montgomery who Planned the D-Day landings.....does that mean we are responsible for saving western Civilization?.......I think most people reading the above will just laugh!

The British empire was built on slavery, misery, invasion, murder. The English language was imposed onto the world which is why we all speak English. Maybe we should'nt say more than that...

It was actually built on trading agreements that still exist to this day.....and the export of the language and laws etc was apart of it......Thats why we are the worlds 5th Economy and Poland is nowhere to be seen!.......All the stuff about wars and slavery etc was just a side show!

UK, Ireland / Brits and Poles - can't we all just... get along? [20]

If I want to make up a story, I'd be writing novels, not posting bullsh1t on a forum. I leave that to other people.

Ok Isiol.....I beleive you!!

Most English people seem to be fairly indifferent to Poles. There are a few who are xenophobic - they are probably xenophobic in the direction of any nationality. There are also some people who have a real admiration or at least some interest in Poland and the Polish.

I disagree with most of that....I don't think the Brits either like or dislike the Poles!....Why would they be Xenophobic towards them? Does the average Brit know enough about Poland to have an opinion?....My personal opinion from what i have read on this forum is that they seem to have lots of Opinions about everything i.e.....Churchill ''selling out Poland'' etc....Most of the stuff is complete Sh-t!....Communist propaganda is to blame for most of it!.....and the stuff about their so called Great Empire (with Lithuania).......Since we are all talking to each other in English!!....Well....we won't say any more about that!!...What i'm saying is.... they have this opinion about themselves that is impossible to live up to.

Crikey! I've now got a home town in Poland. Which one is it

Ok Osiol....I didn't realise you lived on Saturn!!

It depends if an English stag party has been there previously and got completely trollied, groped all the Polish women, mooned a passing nun, pissed in the town quare and up the side of the ancient church, worn Stalin tea shirts, spoke English and patronised those who could not reply, completely disrespected the local culture, behaved like animals and above all THOUGHT THEY HAD A RIGHT TO DO SO!!!!!!

F-ck me not that again!!.......Who does all that??.......about 1% of the population!!

You will have to ask Osiol why he would want to make it up!....If I spoke English in your home town in Poland would i be surrounded by admiring Poles wanting to know everything about Britain?......I just don't think Poland has that level of interest with the British!.....What do you think?

UK, Ireland / Polish Thoughts on Britain and the British [273]

After a few minutes, word of a Polish man amongst us became known and suddenly there were about three different people talking to him in Polish. They were all English, but each had their own bizarre reasons for knowing some of the language. None of them spoke very good Polish, but what a warm welcome to an otherwise dull public house!

Urmmm....Yes i'm sure thats really what happened Osiol!!....and you think the English have such a high opinion of the Poles that they all go rushing up to them every time they open their mouths??....Dream on dude!!

News / English vs. Polish hostility [323]

Puzzler....I read this article also and it was about a report that first appeared in the Polish express newspaper in Britain! The newspaper was giving its readers advise on how to get through the loop holes and claim benefits while still working etc. What is so psychopathic about reporting on immigrants abusing the benefits system? Even the Brits aren't daft enough to believe all immigrants are doing it!

"Britain is ruled by corrupt Freemasons & Jews who direct the destruction of the UK economy"

Ahh, Poles were brought to Britain to destroy the economy.

I'm not an economist so maybe the effects of this policy are too subtle for me to see.

What f---ing Planet are you living on sunshine???
