Work / Canadian boy in love wants to move to Poland... I can do paintings etc. [14]

they have seen each other twice and are in love? i think not.

They live far apart...you can't visit every week in that case. They need some face time together to see if they are compatible. That would help them to make an informed decision.

Don't paint your skepticism on his canvas. It doesn't help him solve the problem.

A chick with baggage?? Haha, she doesn't love you

That's a horrible thing to say. You don't know enough about this relationship to make that kind of judgement.

I am a single parent. I have a "child", not "baggage"! And if I were to become involved in a relationship (in this country or elsewhere, money would not be the top priority, or the second, or the third......there are other things that matter more!

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

Hi Firestorm.....

I have a daughter (she is eight) and she loves having stories read to her, she loves to paint, to catch bugs in jars then look on the computer to see what kind of bug, she loves horses, animals in general, making cookies and playing games.

Kids love attention. Just having an adult listen to them and take interest is a really big deal! So even if you just sit on the floor and let her explain to you everything about toys or school whatever....you will be a hero. You will be fine :) Don't be nervous! Kids are normal people.....only shorter. :)

Travel / WhizAir - is it a good airline (Katowice-London)? [16]

It's just the name "Wizz Air"......don't think I could book a flight on an airline with that name! :) Makes me think of a toy remote controlled plane....loud buzzing sound :D

I think the feelings of anger and hate are totally natural.

These may be natural responses to events, but if not handled constructively, they can become powerful forces for destruction.

You have some choice in what you do with those feelings. Focus on hate and anger, and they will grow. Focus on life, and you move forward.

(I have to add this: I wasted one year of my life being angry and bitter at something someone had done. I was consumed. It made me physically sick. Then one day I realized it was only me who was keeping myself locked in the anger. I was the one who suffered by being angry/bitter. I will not ever do that again.)

But like Tran presented it that Germany must be restraint...as in let's bond together against Germany because she is so influential!

Let's look at Germany another way, or even the US....in the view of other countries ...."for a country that has so much, much is also expected". When there is great power, there must also be great fairness and balance, or you will not be respected. Every mistake made, is magnified by power. And that is just how it is!

Yea, that kinda the same thing that I say: if a "bad attitude" is learned because of bad things that have been experienced, then conversly, good experiences can lead to the development of a "good attitude". They real key in this is being OPEN enough to recognize that what you believe (read bad attitude) might not be true! And then be willing to change what you think, when presented with a new experience.

That's basically what my thread on Tolerance and Diversity was trying to say :)

Most interesting creatures!

Yeah, they're funny too. They'll "talk" to you when they are sitting on a fence. They are very smart. In Native American symbology they represent magic, secrets, dreams and the veil between this world and the next. Not bad :)

Polish ultra-nationalist, and that you represent the worst aspect

But they don't see themselves this way at all. They are trying to protect something that they feel is being taken away. They have learned this attitude.

Brat, you mean when Bruce Willis has to pull the stones out of her when she dies? Ewww!
But of course I appreciated the stones' representation of earth, water, wind and fire and the astrological significance therein :)

Did you ever see the sci fi movie "the 5th element"?

Ok, well Crow was going on about it one day so I watched...

There is this big ball of "evil" heading toward earth and the military try to intercept it.
They decide to fire on it with some heavy duty attack weapons. This little priest tells them not to do it, because they can't destroy it, and it will make it more powerful if they attack it.

Does the military listen? Of course not! They fire at it with everything they have and it just swells up and gets humongous. Now they have an ever "bigger" problem.

And that my friend, is how a little sci fi movie can produce an element of truth :)

Behave as if there were no negative attitudes, even if they exist.
Meaning...acknowledging and participating in a power struggle of any kind adds your energy, focus, time (whatever) to the problem....making it bigger and stronger.

it CAN NEVER BE a great power in the traditional way

Times are different. Things are more complicated than before. Everything has to change: politics, people, trade, communications, travel. Change is inevitable.
What is important is to find meaning and value in life as it goes rushing by!

I don't feel actually personally attacked or blamed for what happened.

Ok, well that's good to hear....it can be very damaging to carry all of that

old style propagand with calling today politicians as Nazis and...and...and...is just wrong and it is used/misused/abused to gain some advantage

I don't know if I want to get into what's wrong or right or misused/abused, but I think the old feelings mostly GET IN THE WAY of future progress. At the same time I want to be sensitive to feelings that people have, because that is their reality.

This is not a clear cut issue is it? It is one that, as Patti said, has to heal in time, on its own. And it will. New generations are born everyday.....time marches on.

how long does the grandson of the smaller guy still want to pout ?

OK, here is a question for you: which generation are you, in your family, that you still feel you are being blamed for something that happened a long time before you were born?

Other side of same coin...

*remembers fondly the party yesterday in puzzlers home*

I cannot believe we didn't play "Dancing Queen"! Clearly we weren't thinking! :)

Quoting Ogorek from another thread: "There is no reason why Russia and Poland should not get along. However - for them to do so - they have to forgive and forget the bad history. Too much hidden hatred still exists e.g. Katyn - the war in 1920 etc. They should all sit around a table - get drunk - and it'll all come out in a flood of tears...

then it will be ok..."

This drinking at the table.....is it for Russia only, or can others come to the party?
