Law / Can I market instant oatmeal for diabetics in Poland? [4]

each of these has its advantages so all of them can well be given a try at marketing

though I think some snack bars for diabetics are already marketed,

I don't think any warm meals are though

well what you need is some research on what is being marketed at the moment

Law / Can I market instant oatmeal for diabetics in Poland? [4]

oatmeal is not so very popular. so instant oatmeal won't catch up any time soon in general market
diabetics is a different story - if there is no such product in Polish market it may have a success.
it should then be approached the same way as in America. (doctors' recommendations, health periodics articles and adds, sold in pharmacies and the like)

Language / Any sweet Polish phrases [255]

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help with a query. When my sister was a child my grandmother used to call her something that sounded like "keh/losh/ak". My Polish neighbour also calls her grown son this, but pronounces it more like "koh/losh/ek". Anyone have any idea what it means?

you can ask for lyrics translations in here

UK, Ireland / English mobile phones - compatible with Polish sim cards? [3]

if the phone has got a simlock(it works in one network only then - you can ask if it does where you bought it or in some service) it probably won't work in Orange network in Poland. It is possible to unlock it and as far as I know it is a bit cheaper in Poland to do so. The cost depends on how much of a novelty your phone is. (well it used to be possible some 4 years ago I am not really sure how about those latest phones)

News / Lech Wałęsa threatens to leave Poland [30]

He almost certainly did. Unless you strongly want to believe he didn't. He did quite a lot of things many Poles detest him for. And if someone asks my opinion, then go Wałęsa, go, and don't return. But he won't. :(

Poland, who thinks that she is a queen, actually is a simple pawn in big game

I don't think anyone reasonable in Poland think we are so very very important and so all powerful. My view is there are lot of Poles who consider surrendering to 'greater powers', conforming etc, reasonable (while I personally don't think it is reasonable as a rule). There are more Poland and Polishness loathers in Poland than anywhere in the world.

I think Polish doubted honesty of German proposals.

Another factor is Poland had it's military alliance with France. If Germans would turn against France Poland should attack on the other front. (and Polish military rather would fullfill their treaty obligations in such case) So yielding to German demands in the wake of September 39 would open serious questions whether Poland should furthermore stick to the alliance with the French or back from it. I guess there was at this point (British guarantees etc) decision made already we stick to French alliance. So yielding to German demands then would not stop further demands from German side cause Hitler's plan was to beat the French before going for Russia (we know it now - their logic has been different definitely but there was a feeling these would not be the last demands by Germans). If there were still Franco-Polish alliance in place after Poland gave in to the demands Germany would still have no choice but to fight and eliminate Poland from the play.

Only Polish abandoning the military alliance with France would change things. And it would mean some form of accepting German curatele and giving away certain amount of sovereignity perhaps some territory (and people were quite touchy on that) Even if it is wholy possible on paper it would have been much against the feelings of the nation. In a way Polish policy makers gave in to the moods in the society. But they have been considerably responsible for creating these moods before.

Poland simply could not accept ceding the corridor to Germans. It would cease to be independent state.

Travel / Poland: What should I look forward to or avoid? Is it fun to visit? [34]

if you are into nature, definitely go to the Tatra mountains as well - my opinion is the most beautiful part is the Dolina Pięciu Stawów (The Valley of Five Lakes) (can be a one day trip from Kraków but it is much more convenient to stay in Zakopane for a while, a night or two - but then Zakopane is quite expensive)

News / Donald Tusk - the worst PM of 3rd RP. [79]

you really want to talk ********, suit yourself

you know actually nothing about Poland you just deceive yourself you do

how come the shield is aggressive towards Germany - can't really think - you must be talking esoterics

or is it that Germany sees America as an enemy

The shield shifting powers in Europe??? in what terms? that any invasion of Poland by the Russians would affect American troops.

Why is Germany affraid of American troops in Poland???

Is America a threat to Germany?

in what you write and think one can clearly see there is little that actually holds the NATO states together. Your attitude is overwhelmingly dominating in Germany (again media job). by the way there is some strong feeling of self-righteousness among Germans and it is growing. (it's America who are bad guys - we're the good guys and so are our friends Russians) suit yourself

but in the light of that you should not be suprised to see Poland trying to have closer relations with the US even if trying in vain or naivly.

The majority of Poles are in favour of the shield now. The conditions negotiated were quite favorable to Poland.

Even though America has been cynical toward Poles, Germany is a lot more (and France along the lines), there is no real intention of cooperation with Poland and no inteniton whatsover to treat Poland as a partner by the German official spheres. Just emtpy words from times to times.

Russia is a bully. Unless it changes in future you will find it out (or you will side with them to bully others - your moral choice - just remember the choices German nation made in the past - yes they were moral choices - even though you'd preffer technological ones)

Sorry in what way Polish attitude towards the Russian meat and later fruit and veg embargo is idiotic? How is cooperation possible when there is no will to cooperate on the Russian side. At the moment Russia allowed for some symbolic imports of Polish meat. Are there any Russian food inspectors controlling facilities in the EU on a regular base? Or is it the Poland is just nagged by the Russians. (Btw there were some indications that the incident that gave rise to the meat ban have been fabricated by Russians. But you don't believe in conspiracies. Any. Ever. You don't believe Polish cryptologists broke the Enigma codes either. (or maybe by chance) Those damn Poles. Had there been no Poland Germany would be so much better off. )

You personally are brainwashed (by the (mostly German) media - I know such types) this is my opinion and I'm not going to engage in any further discussion with you.

And by the way I will find a link for that export support by the German government. And this will be my last post for you to read.

The ips article you link is strongly biased. Plasticly European Russianophilic way. Well the Russians don't economise on publicity (PR) and neither on various types of agents. Btw it is an OOOOLD one. and God biaaased it is. heheh

Leave even now. You core countries heheh. :) Another way of blackmailing.
Anyway there won't finally be any threat that the Polish state should 'compensate' for the expelees.

We (not only Germany but several other western European countries) need much more energy in the future as the demand always grows.
What's wrong with investing in new modern pipelines without having to pay a middle man?
And why do you care???

If the gas from the submarine pipeline is more expensive then the one from a land pipeline after transit fees what is the goal of building the submarine one? An economic one???

I don't buy if you state now it is gonna be cheaper. Count the interesests on capital used to build the submarine one.
You need much more energy ok you can build a pipeline through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Lots of them in fact. One for the tenth of the submarine pipeline worth. We're gonna cooperate happily. Any obstacles in your sight?? Russians you say? Oh yes Russians not Poles.

The Treaty is not bad because it is proposed by Germany but because it shifts balances severely. Calls for unity where there was not enough goodwill before to create one. (So implies forced unity)

My beef with treaty is EU president, EU foreing ministry and similar. I see it as a way to impose policies on smaller countries.

actually I am quite happy to trample on your toes :P

in Polish we say deptać komuś po odciskach

As long Poles like you call their lone goal in diplomacy to "treat on toes" there will nothing worthwile develop!
You are just not constructive...

Ok, you did not assume too much. You have simply not understood.

Never heard of any Polish politician stating our policies are to 'tread on one's toes'.

And there has not been much strife for the sake of strife on Polish side (if any) - maybe contrary to what you would like to believe.

I was not saying about policies, just my attitudes and yours.

Will read the article someday - curious if you have read it yourself.

you just seem not to notice one thing - we have been bullied by your friend of choice
quite recently
even now

you have no real answer to our problems with Russians - all you say is we should cooperate - tell it to the Russians (or the horse marines)

what kind of strife is Poland raising with Russia?

btw you don't get me - when the Europe started uniting (western part of course) there was a common enemy - the Soviet bloc - my view is it was a very important factor - it was quite real incentive to cooperate

now that Germany actually seem to oversee Polish trouble with Russia (not only Polish btw) cause want dearly to be best friends where do you see the incentives to cooperate politically

btw as far as I know the time when the Russians imposed an embargo on Polish meat, German (and several other European countries) authorities started to financially support meat exports to Russia (german meat exports had been too expansive for Russians before)- was it a sign of solidarity with Poles ? if you don't show much solidarity how you expect us not to fight for our interests?

News / Poland. Sold for nothing. [341]

There are some looming threats raised towards Ireland. Ask Irish people..

The pipeline thing again - what is the difference to German customer if the gas comes through a land pipeline or a submarine pipeline. Why Germans (authorities and poeple brainwashed by media) insist on the submarine one? Is it really of vital importance to Germany that the gas should be delivered on the sea bottom? Why is that so?

Poland has been put under enormous pressure to abandon the square root proposal. Was there any serious intention to discuss it on the German and French side? Not for a moment. It has been ridiculed and Poland called names all around the place. The reason?

Was there any discussion at all about the shape of the new treaty? Or was it somehow by chance designed by some without much asking around, then put into media curricullum, advertised as the best sell and then attempt has been made to push everyone to accept it or they are un-European somehow?

As for Mrs Steinbach issue (the recent one) - it was a Pyrrhic victory in a non-issue. (a symbolic rubbish) (my guess it was a populist stunt by the present government who need to show they have spine - I doubt if they have)

btw I am not aware of any serious matters being by Polish side raised if Mrs Steinbach should be appointed notwithstanding. It's not there haven't been any but not aware of it. Just a shouting and spitting grandad. Who btw has called me cattle once. So I have little sympathy for him and his apparent victories.

I was talking about myself when I wrote I just love to tread on your toes. You do to assume too much.

isn't it eyebrow-raising that there is so much pressure on Ireland to conform???

is there no pressure on Polish president to sign the Treaty so that Ireland can be blackmailed even more bluntly?

what sort of compromise attitude and goodwill is it?

and who's goal is it supposed to further?

how do you imagine one common foreign EU policy when you seem to lead a policy of appeasement of a country several EU countries are affraid of?

what kind of honesty is it to propose a European Treaty that just is European Constitution in disguise (the constitution that has been rejected in popular votes here and there)

if you don't see cynicism there then I can't imagine where are you able to see any

And I very much doubt Poland would do the same if they were in Germany's position...
You would NEVER alllow any other country having a say in your politics and economics at all...your "polish pride" wouldn't allow that!

this is just theorising Bratwurst

and there is your very real desire to unleash power (i have seen in many posts in German internet the same longing)
and how do you imagine wielding more power in German case?

sorry but I couldn't find a trace of this compromise attitude during quadrat Wuerzel hype. (proportional or we kick you)

and go and look - some serious folks supported Polish idea (i mean scientists)

yes Kaczynskis have eventually traded the idea for some other concessions but they are time-limited (the concessions) in the end. God knows what happens when the whole of Franco-German vote power unveils thereafter.

you have a rare ability to extract things out of context and put them into different one.
but I'd lie if I tell I envy you

how do you know your political and financial elites are not dreaming of "German Europe"
I somehow detest the idea.

we do share our markets, we do allow foreigners to buy land soon - taking into consideration the wealth discrepancy it is quite a lot; German nationals can work in Poland considerably more freely (if not completely freely) than Poles in Germany, German companies get plenty of Polish construction contracts while there are many obstacles put in front of Polish companies in Germany; Do you want money out of a poor country??? and ay, we at the very moment are a netto payer into the EU (reason is fault on the side of our present government, to a lesser extent on previous governments)

News / Donald Tusk - the worst PM of 3rd RP. [79]

the thing is man you are not trying to get some things into consideration

you just refuse to consider the possibility that there are Poles who further German interests in Poland (in various areas) - and I tell you there are for some reasons or other. I don't ask you to believe me - I ask you to consider this.

over 50 per cent of the press in Poland is in German hands (Axel Springer, Neue Passauer Presse and others - Axel Springer said to be targeting 'Rzeczpospolita' at the moment)

some things don't get much publicity - you doubt it???
there are a number of institutions in Poland funded by the EU that promote things say 'European' as say Lisbon Treaty (haven't I mentioned who presses for the Lisbon treaty the most)

btw Axel Springer owned Fakt leads in spreading anti German stereotypes exactly as the same company's Bild in German spreads anti-Polish rubbish (every sport event including the nations is an opportunity but there definitely are more). Any wonder why?

btw what is the difference of conquering a nation militarily or controlling it from inside or exerting such pressure (economic, political) that it yields to your demands - it is all old-style colonialism/imperialism just different means

it does not share much with cooperation

hegemony is not partnership
and I see in Germans a dream for hegemony over Europe
and this is what I think Kaczynski meant when he said "There is something bad going on in Germany'

which one - Russians? hehe partner? who has put an embargo on Polish meat on some bloody faint excuse (of course for political reasons) then on the fruit and veg (for some faint excuse again) Russian policy toward Poland is clearly malicious.

I don't say German is (but it is not a very friendly policy). My opinion German elites are bent on hegemony in Europe through mostly economical and political means. And they will be more than happy if they get rid of Americans from the continent someday eventually.

btw there are hoardes of former (this is not an apropriate name 'former' - there are no former Russian agents) Russian agents or Russian-'overtaken' Polish SB-colarborators in Poland. Some where even in power for quite some time. This was actually the main obstacle for Poland to get into NATO in American eyes.
