Travel / Traveling to Poland: Tips for First-Timers [47]

come on wujek relax a bit :) ive read it all and i think its an interesting article.i cant find anything rude or offensive there- its just funny.we all make silly things try to look, behave more serious than we are.the foreigners who come to our country may not understand everything.when i started learning english i used to nod and smile all the time because i did not want to be inpolite. when people realized that i did not understand they tried to demonstrate what they mean and it was very funny.probably he exaggerated a bit all spent his holiday with some old gits.steven-next time try to hang around with someone younger:)

UK, Ireland / Marrying a Polish citizen in UK [24]

i was an illegal immigrant in uk so were lots of poles.but the difference between us and pakis for example is that we never set off bombs on buses trains in underground.i have been here legally for the last 18months and i did not take even one day off sick, paid about 4500£ tax so far and never went to see a doctor.i did not claim any benefits and nobody gave me anything.what about so- called political refugees from 3rd world countries?not many of them work they get houses for nothing they dont need to do a day work to get benefits(we have to work at least for 1 year continously)they drain britains budget.

their culture?-dont tell me that pakis or somalians have mor in common with brits than we do

Life / Level of English among the Poles? [64]

its very easy to understand whats said in tv or when older people speak but when 2young english blokes talk it drives me crazy because i have problems with understanding themeven though i ve been living in this country(on and off) for 5 years. lots of poles know english grammar quite well but when they come here and they cant understand a word because of pronunciation they are shocked as was i when i came here first time in ..1999

Food / POLISH GELATIN CARP RECIPE [7]

I've heard Polish people buy live carps and keep them in their... bathtubs until the Christmas Eve. Then they kill them and eat :). Is it true?

yes i used to do it each year, but it doesnt mean that we dont take a shower during pre -christmas period. i have to admit i was a mass murderer.unfortunately i cant do it now because i live in uk and its easier to buy fish fillets.anyway pork u bay from your local supermarket was a live animal so the only difference between me and u is that someone kill the animal for you

UK, Ireland / for polish people in uk-do u find it easy to live in this country? [19]

i lhave been living in uk (on and off) for about 5 years and i think this country is very similar to poland.i vave setlled down very quickly made a few british friends,2 of them are going to poland in september at my wedding.the english language causes me a lot of trouble especially its pronunciation and understanding people from the north of country.i quickly got used to english food apart from fish and chips and all sorts of pies.the english are mostly polite and nice, both nations drink a lot and i think i like it here
