News / WHY DOES POLAND, EU PERMIT FLOOD OF CHINA JUNK? [40]

The European institutions make a big fuss about countries that practise the death penalty but somehow meekly turn a blind eye and open the floodgates to shoddy Chinese goods and imtiations which are undermining European markets.

Mary Robinson (Wiki)

She is a very intelligent and compassionate person, I like her a lot.

how can Europe compete with workers earning less than $1 an hour?

Education and quality.

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

Sometimes?

Yes, you read my comment correctly, "sometimes".

We would get a lot more out of this forum if you would elaborate and not just quote some words from me, repeat one of them and put a question mark.

So you have a question?.

"The right thing" for who or for what?.
Sometimes it is not clear what the right thing is.
Other times you think you are doing the right thing but it causes more harm than good or simply does not have the desired effect, so yes sometimes.

I could write an essay on it and still not answer your question, if indeed you have one at all.

If you have something to say, just say it otherwise this is pointless.

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

depends if you want to be happy or do the right thing...

Is that true?.
i mean happiness is not a continuous state.
We are hot, we jump in to the water, we are happy, we get cold, we get out of the water, we are happy.
some times doing the right thing is the best.
Ah, this is a futile argument, there are not enough details to come to any concrete conclusion.
And it still annoys me.

Discussing anything of worth with a woman when she's in one of her emotional fits is near-impossible.

Yep but again, it was not my intention to draw this particular divide.
My point and perhaps the point of the original poster, is about culture not sex.

Travel / Is this the Warsaw you know? [6]

Isn't Warsaw consistently listed at the top of most expensive cities in the world???

You might be thinking of Moscow or maybe not at all.

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

everybody deserves a chance to start over and be happy...

yeah okay... But what about commitment? through thick and thin? having each other's back? sickness and in health till death do us?.
( I always thought it was funny the "TILL DEATH DO US PART" clause ;)

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

Yeah but then why did they marry at all?.
They knew each other for years.
Ah, of course, i am not them, and there were probably things they did not tell me.
But this attitude annoys me.

women are stronger then men, even tho the stereotype says otherwise...

There is no such stereotype.

HHHmmm, I am not really talking about male female roles here, more cultural, if you know what I mean?.
But I do agree with you both, for certain things women do seem to be stronger.
If it was up to a man to push an apple out of his penis, the human race would be over.

how so?

Well he will be cheered up by his buddies and it is common enough in the U.S. (am I being a dick?).

She is from Romania and her family and friends are religious, kinda.

i suppose what pisses me off the most, is that they could not work it out GGGGGRRRRRR!!!!

He did not beat her and she wasn't unfaithful and it pisses me off that they have no "valid" reason to split.

It angers me, not even a marriage councillor....
Anyway, I should not really be talking about other people's relationships, I just got annoyed....

is there any valid reason for this?

Probably.

is it all about better life and job?

maybe these are contributing factors rather than the only reasons.

are Americans better than us?

Well considering you are talking about the European descendants in the U.S.A., the question and answer is, are we better than us.

are we poor and worthless?

No, definitely not.
I have met people with a hell of a lot of money but they were very poor.

And worthless, well that is just too far.

I just can't see and tolerate this horrible practice.

Two friends of mine just got divorced after 2 years!!!.
He is from the U.S. and she is from Eastern Europe (not Poland).
He is back in the U.S. and his family will bring him out for drinks etc...
Just another divorce.

She, on the other hand, is from a different culture and it is going to be very difficult for her.
Thankfully they have no kids and she is pretty and he is handsome.
What I am getting at here is the cultural difference, it pisses me off big time.
Divorce is not Okay.

Ok peeps to be realistic Gays are not suppose to exist

Ah ha!, there is one tiny problem with your statement, they do exist.

dont try bash me for saying it. Its the truth wether you like it or not

As for your masochistic tenancies and wanting to be bashed, well, i will have to leave that to someone else.

Dog mates with a female dog

Have you never seen a male dog riding another male dog?.
as for chickens and bulls, is that like the birds and the bees?.

Travel / Travellers to Śląsk-Opolskie beware - pumas on the loose [83]

Ah that is where you got Pumas from earlier on the other thread, I see, I even googled it and could find nothing.

fish can be fishes and I've heard native speakers use it that way.

Fish is plural and singular but I thought that if you mean different species you can say "Fishes", different currencies "monies" and "peoples"?.

But you are right language changes and quickly.
I remember always being corrected on "eatable" and told it was "edible" but both are in the dictionaries.

Life / Warnings about Life in Poland [71]

Don't take any sleeper trains as Polish people are likely to gas your cabin and steal all your belongings. Just dont take the risk!

I know several foreigners that have had organs removed on these sleeper trains.
Usually the brain and they go for a very high price as they have never been used before.

Travel / Walks up the Beskids mountains [44]

Thanks, bears can be found in the Tatras, they are not really in the Beskids.
And I get the feeling although I have heard the same advice as you have just given before, i think in reality I would run and be eaten.

And I would have more fear of humans constantly going around with guns than the slim possibility of a bear being in a 100KM of me.

That usually means there has been rain - has there?

Ah, there have been floods.
There are mosquitoes in Warsaw city which have also been blamed on the floods.
I saw some mushrooms but I don't pick mushrooms.
I was going to photograph some but I was being eaten alive hahahaha, I had to run down through the forest.

The season should be underway there, right?

Word on the street says it is coming into mushroom season now ;)

it's been unusually cool.

It has been hot here very hot 35-40, hhmm I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit but it is hot for me anyway :)
