News / 14 year old rape victim from Warsaw denied abortion! [348]

Lesser, i don't think you have ever had an original thought...

They use arguments unknown for you. People have free choice.

Trust me, these arguements are very well known to me. If i choose to disagree with them, that's my choice.

About killing unborn babies for example.

Sorry, lets not brandish the baby word about. At this stage of development.

You may say that you don't have such a respect to human life. On other hand so many of you complain in hysteric way about Muslims overrunning your countries. Guess why? They don't have such problems.

I fail to see what this has to do with the subject.

First of all if mother doesn't want a child, she would not be forced to keep it. There are plenty of people willing to adopt a child.

Probarly the most intelligent thought i've heard from you. That is indeed another option. But the point is, she wants to have an abortion. I know she is young, but she is quite capable of knowing the options. And i still dont see any reason for pro-life and the church getting involved.

I hope this child does get the support she deserves, and is allowed to make that decision by herself. Only she can make it. If she regrets it in the future, thats sad. But nobody has the right to force her to do it or not. The decision made not to give her the abortion although she was perfectly entitled to it by law, is a stark example of why Religion, Pro-life, or any other organised group should never be allowed to stick their noses into other people very harsh problems.

The truth doesn't has a share in disasters of its defenders.

What truth?

The church doesn't force anybody to resign from condoms.

No, but it uses their faith to make them resign....twisted eh?

Very simple, due to respect for a human life. I know many atheists with similar views.

The life belongs to the person, and not the church. Since she has already decided too have the abortion, why are the church getting involved?

Actually the church is engaged

Giving with one hand, taking with the other really.

According the law in this country she may do it.

However first of all she should visit psychologist.

And how long do you think the treatment will take? By that time the 12 week deadline will have past. Again she has already decided, after im sure 10weeks of thought. Plus she will be spending the rest of her life going to a Psychologist after having her rapists' baby at the age of 14. She is still a child, and the law is there to protect her, which the church SHOULD be doing, instead of hounding her down like she is the guilty one.

plague in some western societies.

This is your irrational emotions leading you to such concussions.

Biologically
this will be the same baby like many others.

Maybe in the west we are not so blinded by faith.
Or irrational belief based on a book used to control the masses, and which has factual basis.
Biologically it will be the same baby. Only psychologically damaged, raised by a mother who does not want it.

Hehe;)

My gf was told at her school when she was about 7 that Gay people have a sickness of the mind, and accepting that sickness was a sin, she also agreed with the condom thing, saying that she was also taught that it doesn't protect against STI's ect.

Funny how in the "modern" world we are taught that the only way to protect against becoming pregnant and STI's is to wear a condom.

Of course, accidents can happen...

The bigger problem is, that with all the delaying caused by the pro-life and church brigades, in one more week, it WILL be illegal. I wonder how much support she will get then?

The Catholic church still is behind in the times on many issues. Seems to me that they spend far too much time preying into people's sex lives, rather than dealing with the actual needs of it's followers.

Life / Poland's Health Care System - NFZ [11]

So in short, the system in my opinion is okay, but the infrastructure is bowing under the weight of the flood of new comers.

Or the old...

That's why it should have been the previous govn' who done it;) Inflation is a problem, but with all this pressure on the public sector pay, it's only a matter of time.

News / Polish teachers on Strike. [62]

How long do they work durring day ? 3-4 hours in school

Yes, correct, so im working 8-9 hours and erm...

durring summer (2 months) they get money for nothing.

We get money for what the student's pay, and the lessons we give them. It's not like we dont prepare anything and just turn up at class.

Though i think you're talking about state teachers, cut them some slack. Have you ever tried to teach a bunch of overly hyper teenagers, and seen good results from your hard work?

Nobody young goes to Poland teaching English because they expect to earn lots of money-it is

I'm earning more here than back in the UK.

The best paid TESOL jobs are advertised in South Korea where you can expect to earn around £10,000

A mate of mine is working there, and sending money back to the UK, so i doubt he is earning only 10000 a year:/

Travel / I miss Kraków... What do You miss...? [95]

I never miss any of it. It is easy to be romantic but lets be honest-dirty run down streets with wooden scaffolding, which has been there for twenty years or more holding these old smelly buildings up. Not a very pleasant place at all. Many two faced people too!

What scaffolding?? Were you one of the homeless pissed up farts when you were here?

Where exactly in England are you from....?

Travel / Polish visa - Nightmare! [40]

I agree totally, it takes time to rebuild a country, to make it a place on the map ect. but im sue you agree, some of this paper work needs to be cut out. its a shame that a few people will lose their jobs because the times are changing, but its to the countries benefit.

On the question of my ISP, theres only oe in my street, every time i complain he says its my computers fault. Tomorrow im giving lessons with Onet guys who have heard me complaining so much they now want to test it:)

I say walk on Poland, every country has its problems, but its how you deal with them that makes the difference:)

IMO it should change soon

Im glad we can both see the same picture. I know alot of brits complain about Poland, but actually, it can be a good thing. Sometimes you need outsiders to point out the things that need to change. Still im not paying my bloody internet providers anything, half the time i have no net!! :/

Travel / Polish visa - Nightmare! [40]

Pole who has been born in Poland has to pay money for obigatory ID etc..

But one of the benefits of being in the E.U is that every person should have free right to move, work in every country. Whether its a Pole in the uk, or a mere scotsman in poland, i dont understand why the embassy should be tackleing this when really, there is no restriction in movement.

Also, im not complaining, i've lived here for many years, i just want to see the younger generation take over this country and complete it's potential. Just because i complain, doesnt mean i cant see the reasons behind what needs to be done.

Travel / Polish visa - Nightmare! [40]

it wasn't about bribes...

Plus over £100, does this not seem deeply unfair, ocncidering all my boyfriend had to do to live here was register with the home office?

Yup, for a Brit to enter Poland and have to pay money, what do you think it is??

C'mon Lukasz, your country still has some area's it needs to catch up on. For instance, i was told that to get my Persol number it would cost about 100 pounds....ahem, this is free. That aint the only experience of this matter i've come across.

Simply, if you're Brittish, you need do feck all apart from register in the country. Even the Americans and Ozzy's need not worry, though by law they should get visa, no action will ever be taken agains them. Though Indians are another matter, i rented my spare room to one, and i had the police chapping at the door to confirm he had all the paper work. Only if they donethat with me, i could have missed the 5 hours waiting in E.U citizens office....:D

Life / With a Canadian tourist VISA, what happen if stay just few days >90 days? [5]

plk makes a good point, but most of the fellow americans, or australians here really dont care, my best mate, who is from the US left the country after spending a year here(90 days was his limit). he had no problem leaving, and came back a few months ago. But i think its better to consult your embassy, though what is right in law, aint always what happens.

Life / Smoking ban - will this be coming to Poland like other EU countries? [183]

bring on the ban in Poland.

Actually i agree with some of what you say. But i think your using your own experiences too much. Lots of people are blinded by what has personally happed to them, trumatic deaths within a family structure can lead to a biased view. For example, the mother who believes the MMR jab resulted in their child having autism. I know thats an extreme case but i take the view of this is a free world, and people should have the choice of whether they want to be in a smoking or non smoking place. Shouldnt it be the majority of customers who decide? Again im not having a personal attack on you, but i believe that many people jump the gun if you get what im saying.

Im also against the true reasons why the government has brought this law in, is it really to do with the health of the country? If so, why dont they just make cigarettes, alcohol ect, a c class drug?
