History / WWII planes in Poland [38]

The Poznan Citadel has some. It used to be a German fortress which has been turned into a museum. There are some WWII aircraft in the back (Russian/German and American).

Life / How Long for a Pole to get a passport [10]

I mean strong ties like...property, bank acct/w money, good job. Sometimes an invitation letter helps, but they didn't even want to look at the one I typed up.

Life / How Long for a Pole to get a passport [10]

She just has to go to Warsaw to apply. My gf went, paid and she received it in the mail a few weeks later. It was for a 10 yr, so it's very possible. It would help very much if she were a student or can prove that she has "strong ties" to Poland

What type of tech work do you do?

Popes 7 new sins:
1. Biothetic violations such as birth control

2. "Morally dubious" experiments such as stem cell research

3. Drug abuse

4. Polluting the environment

5. Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor

6. Excessive wealth

7. Creating poverty

Travel / what areas to avoid in poznan..... [5]

I've explored most of Poznan solo. I have to say that mostly all of it is safe. Late at night can be shady in some areas once everyone is drunk. I think it's better to be with someone during this time. I've seen some not so nice youngsters coming from £odz and causing a rukkus.

Overall, it's a faqntastic city to visit and you'll have a great time.

Life / Polish Music Scene [9]

What type of music? You can check out Morphine Klub. They usually have live rock. Valhalla for some harder stuff and maybe some goth. Piwnica 21 has live music sometimes. Blue note might have some jazz, but has hip hop mostly on weekends. Maybe you can find sth here.

Ok, I'm going to have her try the B&B first. She said a lot of the places are booked.

Thanks again

Thanks for that. She's looking for sth inexpensive:) She's lloking into staying at a hostel, but I'm not too sure about those places. I've never stayed. She said there was one by a campus called Bruntsfield Hostel. Anything I should know about this place?

Life / Grafitti in Warsaw [44]

The guy who's property the vandals decide will be their canvas.

Real artists would have more respect for others.

I'm not talking about the graf on unsuspecting peoples walls, but the art that is paid for and the art that is sold in galleries. Vandalism is vandalism and I don't condone it in any medium. However, I do respect the talent that some of these kids display when done legally. To me, it's considered art.

UK, Ireland / Polish worker's excuse and a vacuum cleaner (UK) [79]

Do you think they would even come here if the pubs, clubs and women were not so accommodating to this behavior? I guess those flyers for ****** in every car window and on the sidewalks are for decoration? Poland has a huge vice industry and 'if you build it... they will come" Look at Prague...brothels are a HUGE business there.

Never saw any flyers except from British people. In Poznan I see loud obnoxious people getting kicked to the street all the time.

I heard in Krakow they don't allow stag parties in some pubs.

In poland

Poly - Mashu - AAG (whatever you're calling yourself these days) If you don't have anything constructive to add...then don't at all.

News / What do Polish friends think of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? [226]

Want a job in the US, when there's such high unemployment? Work at McDonalds for Minimum wage! Because that's what is being offered in S. Cali, not that many high paying real jobs after Bushwhackers help to big business.

True. You have to come to NY or NJ. We have plenty of work here :) Cali is too plastic.

Here is Barack's opinon on Poland...sorry if this was already posted.

Well, the key word is used to :) Thank god we're not like this any longer. I just don't think it's too smart to vote for someone just because of their sex. Some women are too into the girl power thing without looking at the real issues.

As long as your not an illegal alien, a atheist, or a homosexual. I mean don't get me wrong I'm not oblivious to prejudice in other countries but I can't stand it when people try to force others to follow their own moral codes.

What do you mean by this? Gays & athiests can't be successful in the US? I'm straight and choose whatever religion I want and I'm successful. Can you elaborate?
