Life / Question: Illegal Aliens in Poland [17]

What if this foreigner wants to leave Poland? Would he/she be stopped at the airport when showing their passport? If so what kind of penalty would they face?

To avoid a problem one only has to enter Germany and leave via a German airport.

There is no border between Poland and Germany. It's easy really.

Life / Polish Funeral, will there be repercussions if I don't attend? [8]

most people in attendance probably don't know who you are.

the rest, close family, should understand.

i would think that it is important for your partner to be there.

make sure that the family get a message of condolence from both you and your partner.

Life / Can children go to school part time in Poland? [3]

jemcat,

I would think that you'd need a doctor's certificate for each child.

There are state schools that care for children with special needs.

Whatever happens, it will include running around to different offices to get paperwork signed.

Sorry, I don't know more.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

A slum is a building not a person.

For example: East End Poles lived in slums. Do you want me to say they were scum too ?
No. They were hard working people, who had to put up with atrocious conditions.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Does anyone know the difference between poverty stricken area, and slum??

A slum is a place where no one gives a damn. They are parasites living off of the labor of other people. They are the lowest form of life in existence. TRASH

It seems that the answer to the question is: no

UK, Ireland / Polish people in an english army [85]

Well, that's just not true from the experiences I have had.

In fact it is true. At least one base last year banned troops from leaving camp in uniform (for shopping trips etc). All because of anti-war feeling from locals.

the poles couldnt cut it in the sas. poles are not known for their fighting skills

All nations have their elite forces, and you don't want to get on the wrong side of any of them.

so he is really smart and wants to stay in this country and is off to university to do a degree in computer science this year after that he wants to go in the army

It might be possible for him to join as an officer and have university paid for by the army.

It's difficult to explain, but have him look into it.

some other posters might know better though. So wait for more info.

Tell your boyfriend to stop daydreaming

Agreed.

One doesn't just join the SAS. One is chosen to apply, and that is after serving some time as a regular soldier.

Law / A FREE PIECE OF ADVICE, look into recruitment companies in Poland [12]

And also you seem to be missing one key aspect, what about the British people that come to Poland, I think this would be a good area to look into because its not like English only speakers can go into an office and start a conversation asking for a job, Is it!!!

Most recruitment agencies have staff who speak English. Among the staff are those who interview English speakers, when English is a second language. Many interviews for non-Polish and some Polish companies are conducted in English. The agencies have got all the bases covered.

News / Peculiar opinions about Poland [33]

Most Poles after 8th grade get a job and are not required to continue studying in a liceum or technicum, or whatever

Most Poles consider university. Most of those who consider university, apply for a place.
It is very difficult to get on in life, in Poland, without a university education.

We study longer but not under pressure which makes Poles crabby and unpleasant.

"We study longer" About the same I would think. I don't agree that Poles (at university) are crabby and unpleasant, but I would agree that the teaching method needs changing somewhat.

they cheat in schools

This is true. And there seems to be too much of it.

in fact they have more knowledge than a Pole who thinks he knows everything yet knows nothing.

I would argue that the Pole learns more. But much of it is pointless. A lot of this has to do with which school thinks it's the best. After all, each school sits the same exam at the end of the day.

I would also argue that Poles know more about the location of countries. But whereas Americans can't, for the most part, place European countries, Poles probably couldn't place all American States correctly.

The Poles are strong when it comes to mustard but even a quality firm here (Roleski) copies Colmans.

A good selection of a quality product... easy to transport... and/or post on delivery.
