Life / Polish hooliganism in sport [141]

Some ppl need to fight and need to watch blood. Its better keeping them on stadiums than seeing them fighting on the real war.

I have to disagree, Ola....nobody "needs" to fight and watch blood except for psychopaths......as for the war, well I agree with you....it shouldn't be happening. BTW, it's always a pleasure when I see you pop onto the forum.....you don't come around enough and you always add excitement to the forum.

Why would any Polish man stay in a country that considers her the most beautiful?

I doubt the UK considers her the most beautiful.....As with any country, there are the "beautiful people" and then there are the average looking (I consider myself as such), and then there are the not so attractive.....regardless of what a person looks like, it's what's on the inside that counts.....I've met some very "beautiful" people who were actually very "ugly" once you got to know them and vice versa.....don't judge books by their covers, Mr. Bronko!

I was reading some of the older threads of members that have been here for quite a while and I had to laugh....I saw some conflict with members who now are friends (for instance, there was a thread with Krysia and Fisz and they seemed to have had a conflict); saw some attitude in others who are now somewhat softened (my BW...at least when it comes to me ;) )....take a look at some older threads....it's very entertaining!

Real Estate / How to get direction-am into Real Estate Investing [8]

There is a good show about "flipping" (buying houses, renovating them, and selling them for profit) on The Learning Channel (TLC)

LOL....Bubbawoo watched hours and hours of that show while he was at my house....it was actually a very good show and very informative....definitely gives ideas.

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

I have found that the right person comes along when you least expect it.

Completely agree with you, Shewolf! Every serious relationship I have ever had came along at a time when I wasn't worrying about being in a relationship......I know it's cliche, but good things do come to those who wait.

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

Being single is definately the easy option for me to take as it avoids the pitfalls of rejection etc. This is not the option I want but at the same time I don't want to fall for the first girl that shows any sign of interest either.

You are putting too much thought into this, Ken. Who's to say the "first girl" that shows any sign of interest in you is not the "right girl." Be open to all relationships, but take go into them slowly.....no need to rush anything if it's meant to be.....I truly wish you luck! Hang in there, and she will come along.....patience, my dear, patience! :)

think it's interesting that you selected the image of Moe, the consumate outsider and lonely heart, as your icon. Is that simply an expression of how you're feeling right now, or how you feel about yourself in general?

Very insightful observation, Rakky.

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

It is overcoming this idea that we need to be accepted within society that is the key, for me anyway. I want to be in a relationship with the right person for me, not just to feel that this is what society expects of me,

I soooo know what you are saying, Ken....imagine the pressure I am under as a woman; I learned a longtime ago to let go of that.....in my late 20's/early 30's, people (family and friends) would ask me "Aren't you ready to settle down?" My answer to them was, "Yes, I am ready to settle down, but I am not ready to settle." You cannot worry about what others think. Sometimes we feel like we are the ONLY ONES who are single and everyone is judging us.....believe me, nobody is that concerned with someone elses life.....if they are, then they are the ones with the problems....my point is, we tend exaggerate the feelings of others based on how we feel about ourselves. I'm 41 now, never married, no children and I'm as happy as a clam.....that's because I learned not to let others opinions dictate how I feel about myself. Love yourself and the rest will follow....:)

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

Whether you are single or in a relationship, it's what you make of your own life that determines whether you will be happy. People can be miserable in a relationship as much as they can be miserable alone......I think in order to be in a good relationship, you have to be happy and comfortable by yourself.

After someone dear to me died, I felt sorry for myself, because I thought that was it....my last chance to be with someone and be happy......I reached a point where I didn't want to be with anyone because the loss that can occur can be so painful. Gradually, the pain lessened and I started to enjoy life again, by myself. I actually remember thinking to myself oneday, that if I end up "alone" in this life, I will actually be okay....it was not long after that someone showed up.....a couple people said it already but I will say it again....just relax and enjoy spending time with yourself, and everything else will come naturally.....:)

LIR and UKIN, why don't you both just start emailing each other and get to know each other outside of this forum......that's how it happened for me and my wonderful man......take a chance......you have nothing to lose, and perhaps everything to gain.....if nothing else, maybe a good friend just to chat with every once in a while! :)

Love / Foreigner's opinion about polish ladies [304]

Don't worry they'll be in the UK one day too :)

I'm surprised they are not already.....especially with the dense populaces and the price of gas over there.....I would actually think it to be a wise thing to have over there....:) It actually is an economic form of transport, but here in the states, I think it's more or less used to show "status" (which again, IMO, is laziness).

It was reply to Brat, not you :).

I know...I was referring to your quote because I agreed with it. :)

Look...Germany is that central they even had a wall through it, splitting it in western and eastern half...so you see....German is the most central of all!

That means nothing.....I live in the "midwest" USA, and if you are looking at a map, it looks like I live more east than "Midwest". Don't get so bent outta shape, BB.....it's just semantics....I think everyone gets the gist of the article.....that Poland is a top contender for foreign investment, inside Europe.

Love / Foreigner's opinion about polish ladies [304]

You mean Americans right? I think we're lazier.

American women *are* lazier -- sorry

I think American men also.....I agree with Fisz, I think in general, compared to Europeans, Americans are very lazy.....not to say there are no hardworking Americans, but I think Bubbawoo said it somewhere, "In America things are easier." It's just a natural progression that we become lazier with life conveniences.

Law / Poland one of the top spots for Investment [21]

According to an article I read in the Warsaw Voice, Poland is 2nd to Germany and UK (tied) for foreign investors which is very promising for Poland.

Economy

Ernst & Young survey shows Poland as second most attractive investment destination in Europe

Poland is in seventh place in the world in terms of the attractiveness for foreign investors according to Ernst & Young’s survey: “The attractiveness of investment in Europe in 2007.”

Prime positions in the rankings are taken by China and the USA, whilst among European nations, joint first place is taken by Germany and Great Britain. Poland is unquestionably the leader among the countries from Central and Eastern Europe.

For the second consecutive year, Poland is the leader in terms of new work places. In 2006, 31,115 new jobs came into being, which is a somewhat weaker figure than that of 2005 (37,745), however Poland still exceeds all other European countries in this field.
