Gold is very high in US right now, in fact it was on the news this morning. Time to look for the broken necklaces, one earing and other junk you don't wear. With the USA talking about helping the banks people are investing big time in "gold".

We definitely dont allow people in their 60's to join the army in Britain

I was thinking of their children and even grandchildren. Are they still considered Polish?

I'm actually amazed at the stupidity of that comment. It's quite aparent you've never actually worked in a job where people depend on good lines of communication to keep them alive!

Was it not the Polish that broke a code in WW2.

My previous comment said nothing about poles being lazy did it? Next time read a little more carefully.

We were talking about the Polish, you are right you did not say Polish, you also did not say native.

unemployed for more than 3 months.

Three months is not a long time in the US depending on employment in the area. Most of time when making a change in jobs we line up the new job first and sometimes take a week off for a short break.

lazy underclass of britain to join first and beat some self respect into them and get them contributing to the economy.

Is that how you see Polish? In the USA every Polish I know speak English. They are known as hard workers. My father spent a few years in England tech school, he was just shy of 18 when they came to the USA and credits alot of learning English prior to leaving from this schooling.

we should make them feel at home but that doesn't include giving them certain priveleges. Some might see joining the army as one such privelege.

Are you a citizen of Poland? Even holding dual should give you rights. IMHO linguistic skills should not be a deciding factor, as I feel they show educational skills vs. uniting the people. Testing for what? Remember most war's are not taking place where speaking english is spoken, it really could come in handy to have the skills.

Now that depends on how long they have stayed legally within the UK.

I guess this is the key. Is there such a rule as to this. Lets face it if they have lived there since 1950 what are the chances they can go back to Poland now? Most have homes and established their lives over 58 years.

DNA testing and sampling of all Polish citizens; DNA specimens containing 'mongrel' genetic characteristics can be extracted from sample 'specimens' before nation-wide testing, and then comparisons can be made between 'pure' Polish genetic traits, and 'mongrelized' genetic materials...

I'm still sceptical about giving them the right to join the British Army

If they are living and citizens of the country why are they still referred to as only Polish? I know the one that are in the US are Polish/American's and have full rights. How can they ever feel at home if made to feel like outsiders? One question, can they vote?

You can be proud of your Grandfather..

I am and thank you for the information. He was a target of Stalin after being front line in 1920 (he was very proud of this) and was under Juzef Pilsudski, "Miracle at Wisle".

After amnesty they did have him listed as Polish Forces under British command. He went back to war from Siberia concentration camp when amnesty was granted.

He passed away in 1992 just shy of his 93 birthday. I just thank God he was able to see his Poland free before his passing. It was when Poland regainned her freedom he accepted his military decorations, always refusing them from "Communist Polish goverment".

I liked people's reaction, they were laughing which means this world is not that mad as it seems to be judging by polician's actions.

That's the differance, we know they lie and our media can call them out on it. We have many jokes about our Goverment and lawyers. In Russia they just shot the media.

Good morning, Alexander. It is most difficult to determine who is telling the truth. It does remind me of Nazi's blamming Poland in 1939. Not to mention Russia's ability to tell the truth leaves their words to be questioned. You yourself said it's the missile base, I say the oil and Russia claims it's their intrests. What happened to saving the Russian citizen's that just so happen to be living there?

You are speaking of "First to Fight", "Fought on all Fronts", "Fought from start to Finish", Poland. Keep reading.

This is true and the sad part is the innocent victim's that once more have lost loved ones due to Russia's quest to own the world.

On 8 August, when he was in Beijing for the start of the Olympic Games, he had spoken to US President George W Bush soon after hearing of the attack by Georgian troops on the South Ossetian capital - but the United States had failed to intervene.

In Beijing, he had already raised the question of Russia recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent territories with the Chinese government, and told them Russia did not expect Chinese support.

This is an interesting comment that suggests Russia was already planning to recognize the two regions from very early on in the crisis.

We didn't want that conflict. The US did.

US was not the one that went into Georgia to assure "Peace" as peace keepers do, and end up attacting and taking over, yes, taking over two area's. If you did not want conflict why did your military attack on such a large scale? Sorry you must stop trying to blame other for your country's actions.

Stop thinking Russia can just take what Russia wants and respect others rights.

Russian agression as well as Russian threat is just a nice fairy-tale to distract your attention from the real troubles of your country from the treason.
