Polish shield on a banner

Hello,

I'm making a large (around 1.2 x 1.5m) Polish sort of banner, a white vertical stripe on the left and a red vertical stripe on the right. In front will be the regular white eagle.

But I need some advice: since this is a national symbol I want to stick to "the rules". The design that I am thinking of has the eagle directly on the banner (here is a layup with a paper cutout: hbar.cc/files/banner1.jpg ). However most that I have seen show the eagle on the red shield

Poland arms

Can I put the eagle on directly, without the shield? Or is this too unorthodox?

This is official one but If you want to have vertical stripes It will probably look crappy.

and a nice friendly welcome there from the forums ambasador of goodwill.
The vertical stripes are the ones drapped inside buildings and such like, you know, indoor functions,so crappy,no,just diferent to the usual run pf the mill horizontal stripes.

Make sure the eagle faces the correct way. Apparently under communism it used to face one way but now it faces the other. Just don't ask me which is which!
