the shame and indignity that the history of Russia is.

History of Russia is a shame and indignity? Nothing more?

I think they're quite ok with your hatred because they have an explicit belief in what they do and they're 100% sure that would do everybody good.

Do you think Soviet people were ever told to occupy Poland? The vast majority thought and think of the fraternal Polish people being liberated and it's at least irrationally to blame them for every single sin. Blame those who they were cheated by.

I remember quite well how in my childhood I watched Polish b&w films about the WW2 and Polish&Soviet soldiers fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism... I know it was kinda Soviet propaganda. But after all... was it that bad or was it actually bad since this raised me with a strong belief that Poles were our brothers?

EDIT:

I'm busy now but one day I have to visit Mother Mary of Czestochowa in order to thank I'm not Russian.
Actually my family was close to rusification.

Does this really matter what your nationality is? You could keep your current views on Russia and its gov-t being Russian either or you're afraid you wouldn't?

Of course there's a lot more, there's sacrifice and heroism but ultimately if you look at russian history its one of abuse, lie and tyranny. A common russian did show merit but the nation and the country did not.

Russia pursued power at any cost, the cost was dignity to the point where Russia has to rewrite its own history not be haunted by shame of it.

Sasha like i said there is a difference between a common Russian and Russia as a whole, somehow the sum of great people is a very dark and twisted country, personally i think its because Russians were never trully civilizationally or politically aware and despite obvious inteligence and education the elites failed to develop ethics and morality as we know it.

No thats about right, even despite all the history between us when you ask polish people how they feel about Russians a crushing majority will speak in superlatives only so there's something going on there.
