moonmustang 2 | 46 21 Oct 2007 / #31Best yet - figured out the family tree - Polish Jews that put Russian as their nationality. So I have just found out that I am not 1/2 Russian, but 1/2 Polish. That makes more sense because my family is friendlier and happier than most of the Russians I've ever met.The rest genetically, 1/4 black, 1/8 Irish, 1/8 Cherokee IndianAKA - Heinz 57, mutt :-)

snip 1 | 8 15 Jul 2009 / #54I am half Polish (Dabek and army) and half Dutch (from Breda liberation )and born in a Polish army hospital in the ukand am just about to start the difficult struggle of finding the bit in my heart that is missing
Jihozapad 16 Jul 2009 / #55Both parents were Polish, but although my name is unusual in Poland, it is virtually unknown outside Poland. I can't find many close matches with other names, but the closest match appears to be Serbian. I've also found my actual name in Hungarian texts (but it didn't appear to be surname, just a Hungarian word - I found a translation). So there's a possibility that I may have some ancestry from one of those parts of Europe too (which would explain why I don't really look Polish, lol), but it must have been a very long time ago, and on my father's side.
